I implore CGT find a new format next year. Yes, voting for all competitors was available throughout the night. However, the way people typically vote makes it so that they want to vote for whoever's most worthy based on their performance that evening. This means that they only have a couple of minutes at most to vote for who they think deserves to win before voting closes. In Raymond's case in particular, yes, he by far gave the best performance of the evening, but because he was the last act, he may have been doomed before the tape started rolling. They saved the best for last, but it may have cost him $150,000.
With next year's prize being so much bigger, it is my hope that CGT has a 3 hour finale show, 2 and a half at minimum, allowing a much larger voting window after the last act has performed. You can fill the time with past favourite acts...Jeanick Fournier was there, about to release a full album, you could have her perform something from that. This season had TONS of memorable acts, yet two were used as side gags.
The show was designed to find the best talent. Unfortunately it's also designed so that someone could have been screwed over, and in this case I fear that's what happened.

Oh, my, god.
As much as i agree that this was an absolutely stellar performance, the one thing he does a bit too much of is riffs. Dont get me wrong, he is immaculate at them. But he tends to oversaturate his music with it. I think there needs to be a delicate balance. Its great to show off, but make the riffs and runs stand out at times that makes sense. Anything else is just taking away from the performance and breaking the immersion.
