Helpful commands for creative mode: (press T or /) /gamerule doDaylightCycle false works well with /time set day/noon/night /gamerule doWeatherCycle false (this one really handy when it's rainy all the time) /gamerule doMobSpawning false (turns off annoying mobs if they're getting in your way) 🙂
Also once you have already used a command, whenever you go back into text chat press the up arrow. You can go through your previously typed chats or commands, so you don't have to type it out again.
Tip for creative and survival: middle click while looking at any block to put the block into your hot bar. In survival, this only works if the item is already in your inventory, this just moves it to a spot on your hot bar.
