I don't care about the game, I want their story! Why did they fall apart? What are the relationship between their families? Is there a world where they put their differences aside? 😭
From what I understand about the lore of the game, they are the mortal servants of warring gods, forced to fight each other while the gods waged war in the heavens above. As each side grew more desperate to survive they would call on their gods, who would bestow them with power at the cost of their freedom, becoming nothing more than empty vessels and pawns in the gods' Immortal War. The senseless fighting was eventually put to an end when the gods died out - unfortunately, it was too late for this pair of friends once they called on the power of their gods. However, I'm pretty sure the elves/Wilders - like the girl in the trailer - still worship the goddess who took over her mind, so the war may not be over just yet.
@@vandemark1760 The human warrior evokes his power much like King Thoran does as a Graveborn. Could this be his ancestor, or even him, before he was brought back?
@@entheosx4502 Doubtful, but not impossible. It is more likely the human warrior was an ancestor of the Lightbearers, the main human faction in the game. However, the Graveborn originated from a human kingdom as well, so the human warrior could have been Thoran's ancestor. Unfortunately, I doubt Thoran is his reincarnation or resurrected self. Thoran became king many years after the Immortal War, and has nothing to do with the events shown in the trailer. A shame, would be nice to see if the reincarnations of the elf and human could have a better life separate from the manipulation of the gods.

It brings me to tears every time.
Actually, I took a very different message from this, especially based on the lines of the end narrator: the two peoples were at peace but were manipulated into fighting each other. Then, when each side was at the point of no return, the manipulative goddess granted both sides power to perpetuate the struggle and ensure more tragedy and casualty. Still, the idea that two innocent children grew up manipulated into hating each other and then were given the power to destroy each other in the guise of benevolence is sickening and still made me tear up in sadness. A waste of life and peace.

Normal AFK game: no story or mabye a meh story
AFK Journey:
IVE SEEN THIS AD 10 TIMES AND I FINALLY DOWNLOADED IT I CANT WAIT TO PLAY also this ad made me cry when i first saw it...its the only ad ive actually watched to the end
hmm.. It seems like the guy is already being possessed by something in this video, as he can't seem to recognize his childhood friend at all and his eyes are already glowing before the battle started, hinting that he no longer has free will himself, and although he might still recognize his childhood friend, he is still unable to do anything but fight, leaving the elf having no choice but to fight to the death and sacrificing her free will as well in exchange for the god's blessing. quite a sad story lore this game have, but it is very interesting, since at the near end of the video mortals begun to defy their gods and using the gods very own blessing as a weapon to turn agaisnt them.. I might as well try this game for the that kind of story alone haha.. anyways great trailer and love the story...
only 2 minutes and this story is freaking beautiful and heartbreaking. like my god, it's so good
It give me phyrexia joy.
this should be a anime series or movie

"The gods are not blind, they just don't care"
mumbo jumbo had joined the chat. who has not known mambo Jambo went AFK and grian made a song out of it, so mumbo jumbo is the king of being AFK, I guess.
