I hope that 3 battlegrounds board will be made with "holes" fitting the token like playerboards in Scythe or Claustrophobia - as 1 accidental move and you are loosing your track.
Before starting the video: Vampire kickstarter was at $33k After finishing the video: Vampire kickstarter is funded and -approaching- has passed $40k That's the RAHDO POWER!!
I thought there would be a bit more character development but it looks like choices are based on bloodline development and later upgrades. Which victim will further your mission objectives and hinder your opponents etc. For me the simple location board mechanics, removing pieces when outnumbered is a shame, the concept of dominating enclaves across Europe sounds great but I just don't like how they executed it. The peasant/nobility track doesn't really inspire me either. Was really hoping to see vampires meddling with important houses, shifting power, facing revolts, hunters, armies and completing missions to shift allegiances of AI powers on the board. It just looks like a point scoring exercise, collecting power and a host of new victims along the way whilst keeping track of the other random tracks. Not for me, but thanks for the clear play-through Rahdo
Unless I'm missing something, I believe you only embrace the character once you "upgrade" them, they're only your servants, or probably ghouls, before that.
the rules say that once you recruit, they're a fledgling which means they have been embraced. a fledgling can become a neonate by recruiting another fledgling. and once they get status (their card is flipped to the color side in the sleeve and they're given a name) they become ancillae (at which point the card gets stickers to indicate that they're permanently part of the bloodline)
Roughly how many chapters are in the campaign? The KS says it goes over 700 years thematically, but it doesn't really give any indication of how many games one could expect to play out over the course of the game. The analogous answer for Pandemic Legacy would be 12-24 games.
that's more than i know. my prototype came with 3 setups... i would assume they comprise the first chapter, and the 2nd chapter probably has a 100 year jump in the timeline. just guessing though
@@Гденашареальностьчувак Thanks. I looked several times but I guess I was just blind to that piece of information for some reason. So I guess 14-28 hours total gameplay depending on player count and playspeed for the campaign. Then some additional time for the generic scenarios.
They're both from the Vampire: The Masquerade franchise, and the second video game, Bloodlines 2, is coming out 2020 too, so it looks like their really trying to go all in. I'm really excited for it personally, the first game came out in 2004 and fell into obscurity because of all the competition, although it became a bit of a cult classic. The newest edition of the ttrpg came out last year as well, and while I haven't played it the lore is really interesting.
12:38, hmm, shouldn't the white be in the north and the black to the south, especially if the brown are the the east? I don't mean it to be racist, just an observation of skin pigmentation and their most commonly found locations.
@@rahdo Right but how is the story line game play re-playable if you have altered the cards for one legacy play through? I think that is my biggest problem here.
that's the nature of legacy games. you play through the storyline, make permanent changes that reflect the choices of you and your friends, and once the story is over, you've got a world that's unique and custom made for you, and you can keep playing in that world. but the 'intro story' is over :)
@@rahdo sounds interesting, but as a dad with a 3 year old and not a lot of people to play with regularly something that is changed forever is not game play style right now. Of course I guess i could get some hard plastic, stick the stickers on them, cut them out, and have them as pieces to overlay on the cards so they are not stuck on them forever. Just would need a way to track what goes on what cards for the play through i'm doing.
"Jen is rich and sneaky", so the perfect partner for a board game player! :D

or maybe it's first day backer power! but i'll take the win :)

"Lepers" in this context means "Vampire from the Nosferatu clan" not actual lepers.
well that makes it a little less cruel, i suppose :)

There is this sentence " Follow a campaign spanning 7 chapters, 21 games and 700 years of history..."

Amusingly enough, the first plot you picked is extremely similar to the main plot of Dishonored 1's backstory.
As soon as I read the “The Black Death” card I thought, nope. Don’t make enemies of the nosferatu. :P
I'm a little confused, is vampire heritage and vampire chapters board games the same thing? They both seem to be coming out in 2020.
yup, not sure if it's a coincidence or what :)

Is there a solo mode ?
google search for vampire heritage solo reveals: boardgamegeek.com/thread/2051994/solo :)

Nice video!
Very beautiful components, but very mediocre gameplay :/
Stickers? uh...really?
yup, that's how legacy games let you declare your ongoing permanent change to the world. if you could undo them, it wouldn't be a legacy :)

Video editing? Weird!
it happens from time to time :)
but i don't like to make a habit of it!
That looks like a lot of text. Good for people with sleep disorder
