@msreadsalot and a few others are doing Remember December Readathon to reread books in Dec. I plan on rereading quite a few. It is an indulgent and cozy feeling to reread! Wow! Big unhaul! Are you closer to your work in the new house? Good Luck reading from your shelves in the New Year! Now that I'm finally using my library apps, I see how easy it is to want to take out or put a hold on ALL the books! I've been trying to only take 1 out at a time. That way I make sure to read it! I look forward to seeing how you did on your reading lists from 2023! I can't remember my 2023 goals. I'm excited to look back and then make new ones for 2024. lovely tag, glad you got to it!!
Thanks Mo! We've only moved about 5 min drive from our last house so no real difference in travelling to work. I'm pleased that we were able to find somewhere in the same area. Library books are always soooo tempting to me! I really have to try to restrain myself otherwise I would never read any of my own books!
I hope you are settling into your new home. I also keep planning to read from my shelves, then end up with lots of more enticing library books. There's something more appealing about the library books than books sitting on my shelves 🤔 Is it the time limited opportunity to borrow and read them? Who knows 😂
I've never heard of that Thomas Hardy book! The only one I've read was Tess of the D'Ubervilles and I remember liking it, but it was back when I was in school...so I'm probably due for another Hardy.
I had never heard of this Hardy until recently but it just sounds so much like my kind of thing! I'm hoping to get to lots more Hardy over the coming years.
aside from the jude the obscure i've loved most of Hardy's books, and I don't remember coming across reviews for this one - look forward to your thoughts.
i've come to appreciate that re-reading does feel indulgent, in the best way =) Margaret Atwood is someone i wanna read more of for sure, hope you get on with the blind assassin ~ gothic is the perfect theme for december 💀❄
I recently switched to the audio of The Blind Assassin before realising that it was an abridged version! The horror! Fortunately I noticed pretty quickly so I've switch back to physical lol. Yes for Gothic reading, I could happily read gothic all year round 😊
It always feels good to be first in the queue for a highly anticipated book! Excited to see your book advent presents soon.
Not long now til I can start my advent calendar 😁

Thanks Debra! We feel pretty settled now. Library books are just so appealing, I think it's the fact that it's free books, how can you say no 😂🙈

It absolutely is!! (Well, I would say it's Sarah Waters season all year round but especially so at the moment!)
