anything that I get supplied to fit to be honest. If I was going to fit to my own vehicle it would be either. Never had problems with Valeo i must add.

Had a right nightmare with this. The clutch change was easy enough but the new Britpart HD clutch will not release far enough to allow gear selection with the engine on. I've put a new clutch master and slave cylinder on to try and help as well as pressure bleeding but to no avail. so the Britpart is coming out and a Valeo is going in. The vendor RandC 4x4 on Ebay state it's improper bleeding but a quick look around the net says the Britpart HD clutch is notorious for this behaviour. Live and learn I guess, although I note when RandC sell it on Ebay they just say 'aftermarket' and don't admit to the brand origin. Lesson learned then.

Thanks for the heads up. It was a full new kit with a brand new bearing. I'm going to rip the bugger apart again this weekend and see what's going on in there. If the worst comes to the worst I new have a new Valeo clutch to add to my growing list of landy spares!

What about balancing the clutch cover, they used to have BLS on one side to match up to Heavy side on flywheel (white mark on mine), my 300tdi was silky smooth till I put in a Valeo replacement which is now noisy & has vibrations at >2000rpm, my new cover has no markings but I notice youre one there has a green dot ??!

Which part of the flywheel is heavy? It is round rotates at speed and should be drill to be balanced from new. Don't quite understand what you are thinking there. Not logical.
When removing and refitting the same clutch one should mark the relationship of pressure plate to flywheel so it goes back on the same way as should one do with wheels but there are no instructions to fit the clutch in such a way on this type.

Hi after a long 3 days removing and then fitting a new engine in my td5, along with fly wheel and new clutch kit, a huge amount of relief when she started first turn of the key. Then put my foot on the clutch and only had a tiny amount of pedal pressure, and could not select any gears, turned of the motor and i can select, oh crap what have i done, this is the first time i have done anything like this, did i put the clutch plate in the wrong way round , you think, shit here we go again I think , what you recon

Timothy Crew the clutch plate can't go in the wrong way. I'd check that you have good fluid in your both cluch master and slave cylinders

Hi Chris! Is there any chance you could give me some dimensions of your alignment tool please?
I can only find them for 2007 onwards.
I have a 300tdi and I will make a tool on the lathe
    Cheers! Darren
