If you haven't already, would you do a video on facial massage? Specifically when to do it in your routine, good products to use for facial massage, benefits, etc. Love your blog and videos! You introduced me to acid toning and it has changed my skin!

I agree with Jessie, I remember you covering facial massages in your blog (as well as TH-cam) but maybe, if you are up for it, doing a hands on video where you're wearing the oil in your face if it's ok 🤗🤓

Hi! I just have to say that you look absolutely gorgeous! I don't know if it's the new haircut or the light, camera or something else, but you are absolutely glowing!
And I just have to tell you the following: The other day I was driving a 2 hours drive and was absolutely bored, when the best idea hit me. Caroline Hirons should have had a PODCAST! I mean your knowledge + your humor = genius podcast. Could you please do it? Like tomorrow? I have another long drive coming up next week...

Oh wow that booster is really interesting! I only knew Estee Lauder were using EUK134 in their renutriv line (and some random men's product, weird). And the Ordinary too has just released a EUK134 booster (after being invested by Lauder, hmm) so it might be a ... "dupe" for anyone on a budget however I can see the city life booster is so much more than just that ingredient, I need to try it! Thanks for introducing this line and your hair inspires me to crack on half bottle of conditioner when I wash it.

Caroline, you look really lovely at the moment. 😍😍😍
And I love your hair like this (though I'd l to see you as more of a dark blonde, but that's simply because I am too ha).
I tried the Renaissance cleanser and my skin would never feel clean afterwards, there would always be a residue unless I went in with a second cleanser which seemed like a waste. Still love their MSM ethos.

Same. It left a very thick residue on my skin. I did my best to try and use it up on my body, but in the end I just binned it. Saying that, I do like their Renaissance mask. :)

Hi Caroline, Watched this on the train into London this morning - and i knew nothing about Oskia apart from the brand name before watching it - so informative and to the point and you identified a couple of gaps in my skincare i wished to try oskia for - the 25% off was a great pull to try a new brand - and just placed my first order with them - thanks and keep up the 'no nonsense to the point' blogs and vlogs, Preet x

Thank you Carolin! Beautiful review of one of my favorite brands 😍 My first product was Renaissance Cleansing Gel (surprise, surprise 😂) and then I got “addicted’ to Get Up & Glow among all other Oskia products (I also use Get Up & Glow on the top of my makeup as a finishing touch.... It makes my skin look so radiant 😊 and I feel as if I’m 25 again 😊 and that was long time ago 😂 21 years ago to be more precise 🤣). Loads of love to you, Željka

I learned a great deal about this skincare line & I find it's approach refreshing. Not sure if it's available in Canada but it's worth checking out. I have the Kate Somerville goat cleanser & absolutely love what it does for my skin. I just shake the container before applying & its perfection. Hoping this cleanser comes back in the future.

Hi Caroline! Thank you for your reviews! I'm on my second bottle of Brightlight, and I've noticed it's started separating and looking a tad darker. Would. You. Believe. that after eons of doing my research and reading up on products, the dated jar/arrow symbol thingie has never registered? Being from the US, I've always expected an expiration stamp on the product and if there was none, I ignored the issue. Those slumbering brain cells suddenly woke up in alarm, and I cursed myself for throwing the box out as surely an expiration would be on it. Well, long story short it's past the expiration date. I suppose it's the Vitamin C that's turned, so should I toss it? I've read conflicting info regarding using products with Vitamin C past its prime, as in it actually is harmful rather than ineffective. Also, are there any product ingredients in general that refrigeration would harm? Cuz well, greedy little pig here purchased too many bright and shiny things all around the same time, and I will never get through them before they all expire together. Goodness, that sounded rather dire!
    Thanks in advance.

good morning Caroline, I have dry dehydrated skin, I was looking into oskia, but do you have better recommendations? although oskia is a very good brand., but nothing in their descriptions targets dry sin!. if I am going to invest in skincare, I'd like to know what it targets. dry mature skin, would love your recommendations. thanks again.. xoxo.. love you chanel and content lol especially your sense of humor... or should I say humour? I miss living in London! all my best .

the renaissance cleansing gel is quite fragranced IMO, it definitely lingers on my skin, (beautiful rose scent), but for those who are particularly sensitive to 'added' fragrance, as it is indeed 'added' ingredient and not simply a result of the essential oil content of the cleanser itself, this product is not something i would recommend

Really enjoy these videos! yikes to the international shipping cost being over $25 (or $200+ min for free ship😳)...makes me even more appreciative of last week's free shipping from Merumaya w/ such a low min & all the more glad I ended up placing an order! I initially wavered & then saw it as a sign when the code still worked Wed several hours after the deadline😉. Can't wait to try the new goodies when they arrive!
Back to THIS video though, I definitely do hope to try several of these products in the future; if I recall correctly I believe they're carried on either Cult or BeautyBay so may look into getting a thing or two from them (as even w/ the discount factored in, that will end up less pricey).
As always, thanks for the video! You're looking especially fab today!
    Cheers, Melissa🔆 (Ohio, USA)

I'm interested in some of these moisturizers, but I always come back to the same question. Moisturizers go on last to seal in serums, oils, treatments. So HOW to they make it through all those barriers and into the skin???

      @ericag11 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I’ve wondered this as well, this is why I tend to save money on moisturizer and not get a “treatment” one just basic moisturizer and use serums for treatments like retinol, vitamin c or niacinamide. I’m sticking to this logic until someone can convince me otherwise.

Great question! So serums, generally speaking, have a smaller molecular structure to penetrate deeper into your skin, and work from the inside, out, to correct the condition of the skin. Moisturizers are designed for your skin type, as an occlusive, and to treat your skin more on a surface level.
This being said, well-formulated products have a specific delivery system designed so ingredients can penetrate and create change. And this can be in corrective serums or moisturizers and such.
Serums are like your main course in a meal; it will satisfy you and treat your skin. But if I can treat my skin in multiple different ways, with cleansers, toners, acids, serums, and moisturizers, why wouldn’t I? I want to have an appetizer, a main course, wine, and dessert, thank you very much.
      Hope this helps.

Devon, Thanks for spending so much time explaining all this to me. I definitely got the answer to my question! This sort of has to do with this brand, as they carry similar products which I will touch on- I just have not tried them yet. If you could answer this BIG question, I think almost everything, after 2 years, would fall into place for me. Items go on thinnest to thickest; however, there are times when I can't tell what's thicker. For example, is Murad's Rapid Age-Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum thicker than say Sunday Riley's Juno Oil? And what about Paula's Choice C15 Booster. Boosters are supposed to go on first to help facilitate the arrival of the next product. Yet, that C15 booster seems thicker than my Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum? UGH!

Jenny, I can’t give you advice on product specifics, with your examples per say, because I haven’t use those before, but here is what you should take away:
Yes, in some sense, products are best suited to be used thinnest to thickest. However there are exceptions, and this is kind of the advice that I give to people in the clinic.
      1. What is/are the issues are you trying to help or correct?
*Based on these products you’ve mentioned, it sounds like your issues are more on pigmentation, so we’ll use that as an example.
      2. You probably have water based products and oil based products. Water and oil don’t mix well, and if you’re using a facial oil first and than your water based serums second, they won’t penetrate very well, because it’s hard to get through an oil.
      3. Follow the instructions...for the most part. I don’t know too much about “booster” products-to be quite frank they seem a little gimmicky to me-if it works and is really designed to help your treatment products penetrate better, than I would apply it first.
      4. That Murad product sounds like a pigment brightener/melanin suppressant, so if pigmentation is your main concern I would apply that first, if it’s the most important to you to treat.
      5. The drunk elephant product is a vitamin C product so I would apply that afterward, as vitamin C is a great antioxidant that helps with preventing the synthesis of pigmentation, and underlying redness associated with broken capillaries, or sun damage and will boost your protection from the environment and the sun.
      6. Wack on a moisturizer or facial oil, for your skin type. If it’s also treatment product, great, if not, that’s okay, and then just slap on a good SPF.
So to wrap it up, my recommendation is to follow directions, whether you see a professional therapist for treatments or you’re reading from the box. Make sure you’re mindful of the type of products you’re putting on your skin in your specific routine; too many actives-depending on the products-at once may do more harm than good. And as far as layering-which was your main question-try not to overthink it. Use your water based treatment products first-thinnest to thickest and/or also by skin concern, and then if you like facial oils use them afterward, and then slap on SPF.
I’m not sure, but I think you may be trying to do too much at once.
Let me know if any of this makes sense, or if it doesn’t and I will try to clarify. I’m always open for questions.

Devon, I am curious about your thoughts on this layering routine, which actually has the oil seru, going first: www.infiore.net/blogs/in-vigilare/114382596-the-right-way-to-layer-your-in-fiore
I don't use these products specifically, but it has gotten me curious!
