As we reflect on the 1.8 million women who will enter the menopause transition every year, those of us taking care of them must be keenly aware of how the loss of various hormones affects their lives daily.
It is important to have in the forefront of our minds that a woman will spend a third of her life in this phase. This is relevant because these are the women who run corporations, raise families, and support communities that affect us all.
These are the women who hold institutional wisdom and the key to a changing world. These are the women who will have the opportunity to help a generation of fierce women following in their footsteps understand the full story of how their bodies change and grow. And when this knowledge is passed on our communities, our world, and humanity will be able to continue to thrive.
It is with this forward-thinking that I invite practitioners to open their minds and understand the impact that progesterone has on the function of one of our greatest resources: The Perimenopausal / Menopausal woman.
Learning points in this live class:
    1. A Paradigm shift: Think of estrogen dominance as progesterone deficiency
    2. Progesterone natures Xanax
    3. Do we need to implicate progesterone in the perimenopause /menopause weight gain saga
    4. A little progesterone could help those irregular periods
    5. Progesterone the original sleep aid

Thank you Doctor! I suddenly got tennis elbows bilaterally with trigger fingers. Never had this in my life and I don't even play tennis. Once I started HRT everything is back. No insomnia, no trigger fingers, my tennis elbow pain almost gone, my mental health is great. Thank you so much for addressing how important is to recognize the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause.

This video is AMAZING !! This is such helpful information on progesterone & its effects, especially with the brain, OMG! Spot on too, about medicine needing to be genetic specific !! That is absolutely accurate !!! This is why I would suss out Endocrinologists as specialists, to help figure this stuff out. Unfortunately, not all dr.'s are good ,and that in and of itself , is a such a huge job to find a good dr. - UGH !!
I'm always so pleased when someone who understands, but more importantly, can explain or teach others, especially about well being. Thank you for this video !! I believe this was more a tutorial for healthcare professionals (?) however, I'm just a 50+ year old woman who was looking for some answers & am not in healthcare at all, so hats off to you for having the talent to explain/teach to the public. This indeed is a PUBLIC SERVICE you have offered. Thank you !

I joined a Facebook group on estrogen dominance. They claim that it's impossible to overdose on progesterone and they take upwards of 600-1000mg a day to counteract estrogen dominance. When i took that much it made me pee constantly to the point I was peeing every hour. I had to be near a bathroom and I had mild but noticable incontinence. It caused weight gain and low estrogen symptoms. All the group monitors would say is I need more progesterone. Omg... This video was very helpful! Too little spikes estrogen dominance and too much lowers estrogen too much.

Thank you for doing this you are the only one I hear speak about progesterone in Menopause with or without a uterus. I had an marena iud for fibroids and I felt strong, I lost weight then year 5 later it was changed to another one and overtime I did not feel the same. Now I am in menopause and I feel like everything is going south.

I know someone who had severe postpartum depression. Her doctor put her on an antidepressant. She became more secluded and ashamed. Unfortunately when her little baby was barely 3 months old she took her life. This left her husband to raise there little baby. Fortunately, he had family that helped with raising their young daughter. Since then, I’ve heard doctor speak about giving progesterone to postpartum depression women, I’ve heard that it can be extremely helpful with postpartum depression. Has anyone else heard this?

This was a great video, thank you so much! I believe Im in the taking a bit too much progesterone category. I take 100mg capsule at bedtime. I sleep great! But for about two weeks a month I feel very swollen and my breast hurt ALOT! I can tell I need to cut back but not sure where. MY progesterone is a gel cap, so I can't take half a dose. I take it everyday, so could cut back to 2-3 weeks months instead? Ive been taking daily to help with hormonal migraines. Thanks again!

That was so informative. Just starting my estrogen patch today and pill form for progesterone not sure if I should take it daily or on again off. I feel like I’m depleted in both hormones right now. I have a sketchy cycle as of now. Hit and miss. Is it okay to start with both and then switch to the on again off to keep a more natural balance?

    Hi doc
What are your thoughts on compounded progesterone for those who are allergic to peanut oil.
    And lastly
When is US is starting to make progesterone with sunflower oil instead of peanut like new Zealand????
