I had a pain in my left leg since 18-20 years which initially started from lower part of the left leg at back side then slowly started rising upwards and finally stayed in my back hip. Your video "How to ease sciatica when standing" of door side stretch helped me like a magic. Alhamdulillah ! in 1st attempt itself I got relief. Thanks Doctor may Allah have his mercy and grace up on you and us. Ameen!

This really helped me! I have been going to a chiropractor and a physical therapist for 8 months. Even the epidural shot gave me no relief. They gave me a lot stretches that I can use while laying down but this is so helpful because I am taking the bar exam next week. Its a 12 hour test but I am able to stretch for 10 minutes every hour, but I didn’t get an accommodation to bring my yoga mat so I can only do standing stretches. They really helped. Thanks so much.

Have a pinched sciatic nerve causing insane left leg pain, and I'm on day 3. Muscle relaxers, motrin 600, and lidocaine patches, and like no relief yet. They also gave me steroid shots in the ER when this all started. Never had anything like this happen before, but I now feel for people with back problems. I just started these stretches yesterday, and I gotta say, it's really helping. This guy definitely knows his stuff! Also, not sure if anyone else has ever experienced, but I had my first cup of coffee yesterday in quite a few days, and it almost took the pain away completely! The pain eventually came back like 10hrs later, but I can't believe how much the coffee helped with pain!! Anyways, I'm bored and ranting here, but overall, this video has been a huge help. Huge!

Hello Mr. Rowe. Thanks a lot for a such great videos. Not just content but mainly the way you present it is something that really helps. I have got the question on your last exercise (decompression dip). First of all I have to say I had surgery (L5- S1 about 15 years ago) but thanks to the fact that I regularly do special excercises I am in quite good condition even I sit all day (trying to stand every hour). I just feel mostly every day some irritation in left leg but I got use to it during all these years and evening excercise helps me to reduce this irritation. So back to DECOMPRESSION DIP - If am trying to do this and specially if I start to release my abdominal muscles I start to feel sudden blunt pain/big pressure emanating from the vertebrae in the lumbar region. When I stop releasing my abdominal muscles then pressure immediatelly has disapeared. So I never did this excercise with completely released abdominal muscles because I was scaried what will happen. Only once, I completely released my abdominal muscels during this excercise - Once, when I was hangging on the crossbar I released my abdominal muscles completely and the pressure came with the "full strength". A dull pain emanating from the lumbar region weakened my legs until I had to lie down. I don't remember how long it took before it stopped hurting completely, but the strong pain / pressure disappeared relatively quickly (1-2 minutes). So my question is - is this "the good pain" and therefore this strong pressure can be occured due to desired movement of gel back to disc core and disc expansion or on the contrary, this is "the wrong" pain and there could be some wrong movement and I should not do this excercise any more (or do it without releasing abdominal muscles)? THANK YOU A LOT FOR YOUR KIND ANSWER! Hope this can help maybe to others.

These are great! Found your video with a quick Google search. Hoping to find something easy to help my elderly dad who has Parkinson's but his gait limitations and other side effects from the Parkinson's have caused his low-back pain from a disc issue to turn into excruciating sciatica pain. He has very limited balance and mobility, but I think with a few modifications I should be able to help him get some relief. And randomly enough we're not far from you in northern Indiana. :) Thanks for this content.

I am on week 6 of slipped disc, and have been told the only option is surgery (from other people). I am helping with these exercises I can find some relief and heal without surgery. Any tips for loosening the muscles before doing these? I can feel my body holding tension trying to protect itself. Thank you!

I am a little confused about this video "instant sciatica pain relief standing"
    On wall lean stretch
Good door and non painful side together
    But
'How to ease sciatica when standing" video
On exercise 2 , Painful Sciatic side Put it next to the door or wall.
Please explain to me the difference
    Thank you very much

Thanks. I have these symptoms now for a year. From L4-L5 herniated bulge in my left side. find that anything but sitting helps …..thank you so much for the exercises reallly do help me out. I finally decided to do get an epidural shot. Surgery is another option which i want to avoid. I also find another symptom. Pulling and tightness nerves in my right testicle. Examined by urologist all negative and have no hernia issues. . I was told that it is possible my right testicle pain can be from my left herniated disk? I will do the epidural shot in two weeks and then I will see if the right testicle pain goes away as well as the Sciatia and piriformis.

Thank for the videos Dr Row.
MRI shows l5 SI Disc Intrusion. Sciatica can get intense when I stand or worse when I walk . I have found ways to temporary stop it by pressing on a wall right foot back for a few seconds, walk a little do it again,I May have to do this 20 times before I can walk, and can usualy feel ok for a while. But as soon as I sit or squat down and stand back up, the cycle starts all over again, its been like this for 3 months. My nerve does not liked to be stretched at all, instead of gliding it feels trapped in the upper hamstring . Ive tried flossing but doest seem to fix anything long term. Your thoughts?

These felt really good..thank you. But my pain is mostly coming from my hips being imbalanced. My chiropractor has me lay my hips on 2 blocks before adjusting my lower back. Yet I still have pain sitting, laying down, and sometimes walking. I use the stick exercise you suggest in one of your videos. But I'm missing something else..how do I sit on the couch so I'm not having this sciatic or sacroiliac pain making it worse? Thanks so much...I love your videos! Denise RI

Hi, very informative video, however you only seem to focus on bulging or herniated discs, where the pain is primarily in the low back. My sciatica is caused by worn discs and feel it mostly in the right glute and down the right leg.
Could you maybe add some exercise in for that please.

Question- is it not recommended to do the wall stretch on the same side as the sciatic leg? Asking because I may have been doing this exercise wrong in the past 😬

Just subscribed! Been looking for exercises to really target piriformis syndrome. Should I just focus on sciatic exercises? Of course, that's where my problems stem from. Spinal fusion last March at L5-S1, with complete abandonment by my surgeon, so I haven't started physical therapy. The winter really brought back the sciatic pain, not the lower back pain as much, that is pretty stable right now. Now my hips and down my legs are the issue. And would stretching exercises help this?
Also, sorry so many questions! Do you have print outs or directions for these exercises, so I can remember and bring them on the go? And would you recommend using a chiropractor after back surgery? I'm always afraid to mess something up - I've never seen a chiro.

Hi Dr. Rowe. Just stumbled across this video and tried the exercises. Is it normal for pain and numbness in the leg to increase while I am doing the exercises for q herniated disc? The numbness and pain stops after I cease the exercises. Thank you for your videos.
