It's pretty hard to take exception to MINI's improved MK3 model Convertible. It delivers surprising space for passengers and luggage, a stylish roadway demeanour and a customisable fabric roof. This current version has been usefully updated in recent years with fresh technology, smart connectivity, standard-fit front and rear LED lights across the range, plus an advanced dual-clutch automatic gearbox. As before, buyers can pick three cylinder, four cylinder and JCW performance versions.

Absolutely love our 2017 Cooper convertible. Loads of extras, heated seats, windscreen etc. Has a great feeling of stability on the road at any speed and feels very upmarket…Honestly the best car I’ve ever owned and the only one to put a smile on my face every time I go for a drive 😁.

We also have owned a 2006 Cooper S convertible since new and it definitely isn’t “wobbly” ( 63k miles )
    Absolutely a great car!!

You mentioned the 1959 mini, it had the starter switch on the floor just in front of the drivers seat to the left.

Excellent review. I did find myself having to do some calculations to convert the numbers into something I can grasp in the USA. lol

I've been driving a 2005 Porsche 997 Cabriolet for four years, but lost it recently, I've just discovered a 2016 Mini Cooper S convertible with Chilli package. There will be compromises of course but also exciting new things to discover in the driving experience. Any thoughts? Thanks for the wonderful review!

That’s cool because my dream car is a 992 gt3 touring so my first car will be a 2016 convertible

This video either is older than it's publish date or they're presenting the previous refresh LCI-1 car based on availability

24:48 nice, thanks for showing that. I was wondering how that worked. Looking at the 2025 model redesign, I am going to buy a 2024 for its body styling. Gotta like the car you buy.

I own a 2006 R53 Mini Cooper S Convertible and it’s far from wobbly with the roof down. It’s a solid car that’s fun to drive regardless the position of the roof.

The convertible version of the R53, last produced in 2008 is actually called R52 and you are correct.. I would actually say is more fun to drive the R52 than any other later convertible models… 😬

@@renzonovara2728 I stand corrected 😊👍🏻🙌🏻 I was thinking of selling it but it’s such a good looking little car and like you say it’s fun to drive. Only down side is the cost to have it serviced every year to keep its full service history. It is our second car so doesn’t cover a vast amount of miles each year.

@@JobeMI6 That is true, cost is high to maintain if you take it to the dealer. I’m starting to learn how to do all the services my self. Aftermarket parts are much cheaper and there are ton of videos and how to’s online to do much of the simple services and you save a ton of money.

@@renzonovara2728 I wouldn’t take it to a main dealer. I have very much learnt my mistake the hard way there.
I have my service done at a Mini / BMW specialist. I think it’s good to have full service history if I ever did decide to sell my Mini. Looking through the receipts, I have spent a small fortune.

    I adore my R57 MY2011 convertible manual black/beige Cooper, not S!

    This must be a 2023?
As the tail lights and the speedometer look very different than the 2024.

    Thorough review as it gets.
Boring too. Which is ironic considering the subject.
