Craig Burley, thank you for telling the truth. There's always an excuse with these "experts" when it comes to the USMNT. It's frustrating to see talking heads tip-toe around the fact that the USMNT isn't a good team. Anyone w/ two eyes can see that. Once we acknowledge the truth, we can the factors that contribute to our mediocrity and get better. Until then, we'll keep a mediocre side and continue getting excited for the occasional result that falls in our favor...
Ryan Herich Doubt it. South Korea and Japan are MUCH better than almost every team in Concacaf except maybe Mexico. Also South Korea has one of the best players in England playing for Spurs. Also Australia would be a big challenge for the U.S
Sports Fan Hahahaha WHAT?? South Korea haven't been that good since 10 years ago. The only team in the entire Asian region that would be undoubtably in the top 2 or 3 teams and CONCACAF would be Japan. Australia struggled during this qualifying campaign is now in the play off spot against Syria and are not better than the US if anything they are about the same. South Korea right now would also be about the same as Saudi Arabia would maybe be slightly worse. Costa Rica & Mexico would definitely easily be better than any team in Asia except for maybe Japan but even then they would be very close if not above both of them.
Sports Fan Both the United States Costa Rica and Mexico all went to the round of 16 in the last World Cup. Since the 2002 World Cup the United States and Costa Rica have made it to the quarterfinals each one time. United States and Mexico have each made it out of the group stage and into the round of 16 at least 3 times in the World Cup since 2002. Mexico in fact 4 times. Austrialia made it to the round of 16 once, Japan made it to the round of 16 once, South Korea practically mugged and cheated and got to the quarter finals and got in 4th place did nothing afterward.
That dude on the right side is fucking funny. Everything he is saying is 100% right. But is anyone doing anything to fix the way we play soccer in the USA???? NO. There is no relegation system in place... there's no competition amongst teams. Players are old asss helll. And how do you expect Slow ass soccer players to compete at a high level?
I love how Burley ask a simple question. "is the US a good or mediocre team?" Never got a straight answer. they avoided the answer completely. I think that says a lot.
kareem ali relegation has nothing to with it. By your logic all other professional sports league like the mlb and NBA will never be good because there's no pro/reg system. It's the youth development. Period.
LandInbetween yes it apply to nba look how the nba became full of kids with with no fundamental or work ethic that why there bust and it look at futball in Europe they have a relegation systems and youth system and they have hungry kids wanting a spot in the first team The thing is ur american im assuming so of course u have a different perspective than i would
without question...relegation system is the essence of soccer...creates urgency, problem with all american sports and their formats is that they basically encourage sucking
@Natnael Guliano Which has nothing to do with how the MLS can get better or how the country's youth players can get better. We're already seeing it now that young Americans are playing abroad in leagues with much better on-field quality than what can be found in the US; some are products of MLS youth academy systems. Without that said, throughout the past ten years the quality of the MLS has improved as well.
Mexico has not made even a world cup quarterfinal in over THIRTY YEARS....and they were hosting world cup last time that happened. You guys are so freaking delusional in your ridiculous idea mexico is elite in the sport. They are not
Mexico has won ONE title at the senior level...smallest of all tourneys while they were playing at home against the likes of New Zealand and Saudi Arabia. WOW! Least I know where my team really stands
sports genius Yea, i see so much potential everywhere, especially hispanics and mexicans, we even play during school lunch time every day, everyone comes and plays with their skills while having fun with each other, but its hard over here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as there is no pro team here yet
Pay to play system has screwed us. USA players will never be as hungry as players from 3rd world countries. We'll always have solid players, just not as hungry.
Last Copa America US beat Paraguay in the group stage and knocked out Ecuador in the quarterfinals. What's your excuse? US being a superior nation won like they should? Doubt you would say that. As for U20 world cup Venezuela won 2-1....that's not getting OWNED or FUCKED UP...that would be more like 5-0 win. Anyway...what's that got to do with third world countries never winning the world cup?
The US treats the sport like a business, we have so much talent here but they make you pay to even be seen. While in Europe they send scout EVERYWHERE, and get talent even from the streets. That's what we need. We need to nurture young talent and stop treating it like a business first
Dshiz We do that sort of thing in the US too but we do it with American football and basketball. Football/soccer is generally viewed as a kids game here meaning there is no future in it so parents and kids don't look that far ahead into it and go off in another direction.
Gomez is like another Lalas. Because they used to be USMNT players, they will take up for the garbage as long as a person like Klinsmann isn't coaching who's calling out the failures for what it is. US Soccer suck. That includes MLS. We need to stop the whole thing and start over. Find a better USSF president and fix this problem. US Soccer has been garbage most of it's life and it needs someone that's competent enough to do things right. I'm sick of this garbage league we have and I'm sick of this mediocre older generation players we have that lack ambition. Starting fresh and young is the only way I see US Soccer doing good in the future.
Hamster Bunny there is no fixing this. Over 100 year old federation and never got any better. The sport should be scrapped from USA cause nobody can fix the unfixable.
Mario L I understand that but this country had money and never did anything with it while those countries don't. But however poor countries somehow discover talent while we still struggling to convince children to take up soccer and take it seriously. Children play soccer for fun but that's as far as it goes especially when football and basketball season comes. Like I said there is no cure for this when you have a country that's just not intersected. Nobody cares unfortunately. If the federation folded tomorrow nobody would lose sleep over it. That's Americans for ya what can you do. When more children want to be pro soccer players then maybe we can discuss the future. Till then everybody's solutions is total fantasy.
Mario L I think you missed my point kids are playing basketball and football cause our culture. We need more kids playing soccer so more chances to find talent. Kids need to play street soccer like other sports. But there is no interest this country. is not a soccer nation. And never will be. Best this country can do is have maybe 5 or 6 decent players. That's it. And it will always be that way. Kids will never except soccer. That is truth. Don't ever expect things to improve. Since kids don't care then we are not meant to be good at soccer. Time to accept the fact that the United States does not belong in the sport of soccer and I'm okay with that.
Hamster Bunny you are being a bit dramatic. And Alexi Lalas has not been blindly supporting the usmnt. He called them out the other day for being a group of "tattooed millionaires" who don't seem to be 100% passionate at the moment.
USA soccer is pay to play completely . And if USA basketball was about pay to play and a couple or a few grand a year or 2 to play at top level imagine how many potential stars would be alienated
why is he talking about Costa Rica like it's Germany or something? lol Here in Brazil we consider Costa Rica one of the weakest teams to play against. It says a lot that to the US team Costa Rica is "a very good team".
Let:s be real. USA only makes the World Cup because of the group the play in. They have one very good player and he is 18, Pulisic would not make Argentina's, Or Spain's or France's or German's and other squads.
Considering those named countries love playing promising young talent and have a better youth system than we do, Pulisic could be playing for those squads, but likely off the bench. If Dembele is good enough to start for France, I have no doubt Pulisic would be good enough to at least come off the bench.
With all due respect of someone who follows football and supports MLS we can't be fooled thinking that a league that has no promoting and descending system can be considered a top competitive league in the world. There is no way college kids can become world class players in enough quantity to form consecutive winning teams. The secondary leagues will force teams to pickup players and form a base for the future. That's the problem...MLS clubs and players have no concept of battling all season not only for the win but also for not loose. Loosing has consequences and not everyone takes a medal home. Sorry, but Bruce Arena is not a world class coach his outdated and whoever is deciding the future of the USA football has no knowledge of how to create a winning league.
I'm a substitute teacher in Sacramento, CA and I can tell you that soccer is by FAR the #1 sport the kids in my school district play today during recess. White/Black/Hispanic (Boys & Girls) It's a very low income area as well. The scouts needs to get out there and find talent.
I'd say shut down the sport forever and unless 300 or more million people demand the sport to be back in the states, then US Soccer is dead. Only way(s) to fix it: Fire Gulati Fire Garber Eliminate pay to play Pro/Rel Better refs
I'm hoping they would but I doubt it. Will soccer be missed if it's gone from USA forever? I would not be surprised if the answer is no. It's fine, I rather watch NBA (Bulls and Warriors) and MLB (Cubs).
P2 E2 same here that why i watch European soccer (la liga FC Barcelona, Tottenham Spurs seria a ligue 1 bundes liga) NBA ( San Antonio spurs) NCAA men's basketball (Oregon ducks mens basketball)
YA WANT THE USMNT TO BE GOOD BUT THE TRY OUTS YA HAVE ALL OVER THE US FOR THE MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER TEAMS YA DO FOR MONEY YA NEVET R GIVE CONTRACTS TO THE REAL TALENTED PLAYERS THAT CAN ACUTTAULY MAKE A DIFFERENCE YA JUST WANT THE MONEY SO THE USMNT AIN'T NO GOOD
Burley pisses me off most of the time, but he is right on point here. There is always an excuse. We have to ask if we want to be a great soccer or a “JAG” soccer nation. We have to answer that first.
One of the main reasons we are where we are is that we've had decades of Hercules Gomez's blaming everything BUT the real problem. You can't fix the problem you refuse to see.
Sumeet Jena We were leaking goals with Klinsmann seriously what the h*** are you talking about do you think somehow we would be better off with them if you'd think that you have no idea about the game and you should not comment on it
You're the one who shouldn't be commenting on the game. Have you seen how we play under Arena?!!? No desire, no fight, no identity. Arena looks lost on the sidelines, like he doesn't even care. Bruce's tactics are taking us backward, and they're shocking. Klinsmann was a long term project, and with time, he would have taken us to a new level. A level where we're no longer the underdogs, a level where we are playing good, positive football. Plus, Arena has a much stronger squad to rely on, including Pulisic. If Arena is so good, then how come we finished top of our WCQ group in 2014, and now we're struggling for 3rd and 4th place???
Lmao at the guy in the silver suit “the most talented usmt, they won 14 straight games.” 14 straight and still failed to qualify for the World Cup? how is that an accomplishment
I'm from Denmark we do not just qualify, and we have never lost to USA. 31 Jan 1993 USA v Denmark D 2-2 International Friendly 22 Jan 1997 USA v Denmark W 1-4 US Cup 18 Jan 2004 USA v Denmark D 1-1 International Friendly 18 Nov 2009 Denmark v USA W 3-1 International Friendly 25 Mar 2015 Denmark v USA W 3-2 International Friendly The funny thing are that the first 3 games we played a B-team if not a C-team. 2009 we had the worst team for a really long time, and had not even the strongest setup. Only in 2015 we had almost the strongest team, just missing the goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. But that were before we got new manager, and the players started to play well. We ware not even good enough to get to the european championship.
btw, the two goals were Michael Bradley's fault... the center backs are supposed to be wide, the holding midfielder is supposed to close that gap ... Bradley sat and watched ... sorry, sat and squinted at the ball ...
This is the problem with the US national team as soon as any criticism gets brought up their pundits see it as an attack on them, hell when England got beat by Iceland our pundits ripped them apart. The fact he said Costa Rica are a good team sums it up, they're in denial that the US team are average at best.
The US have a 'we're number 1' mentality. Maybe they cant accept the fact therye also-rans in the sport of football?. They are the underdogs, but they are the underdogs who dont rise to the occasion and suprise everyone, like you see in the movies
There is plenty of young talent , but some kids dont have the finances to even join club if that changed there would be a huge impact in the U.S soccer team
Just watched the video where Ibra rips the team USA team, and the comment section was full of americans roasting Sweden for not making it to the previous world cup. You can't compare the two qualifying regions. Had Sweden been in the American region they would've finished 1st. They beat France and held the 1st place before playing Belgium, where they unfortunately ended up losing their 1st place to the 2nd. Look at you now.. you can't even win your group.
Are the rules of the game different when you play as a visitor? Are the field measurements different to have the visitors team in disadvantage? Are the goals smaller for the local team? Are the refs paid to give advantage to the local team? The director, coach, player who agrees with these have my lifetime disrespect. YOU CANT GIVE EXCUSES BASED ON GAME RULES OR REGULATION WHEN YOU LOSE.
I dont think that the problem arises from the players themselves but their competitive mentality. Most USMNT players come from the MLS, a horrible league. The one greay player plays in Bundesliga, a league with tons of competition. If the MLS is fixed, gets revamped, then maybe the players will have more about their game. Till then as an American, I say the USMNT is horrendous.
Hiring Bruce Arena was the dumbest thing USMNT management has ever done. Klinsmann had a plan to transform the culture and style of play, Arena is essentially a soccer dad who brings the Capri Sun and the Chewy Bars and says "oh nice kick, Johnny" when the ball goes very far
We ware not even good enough to get to the european championship. USA are below Mediocre!
There are a lot of talented players on this US national team but the managment is so so so poor and the players just dont seem to know how to play together. The team overall is mediocre and there is a lot of change that needs to take place if the U.S wants to become a footballing superpower.
Personally I’m a 15 yr old playing for my local school and club teams here in the US. I end up paying around $4,000 per year just to play. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Kids playing at the Elite academy levels are having to shove out $25-$35,000. The thing that frustrates me the most is that this gets no attention at all from media and by the Pros. I have tons of friends who are financially far worse off and can’t even afford to pay the hefty $4,000 a yr. If the US really wants to get anywhere in terms of world soccer, they need to completely demolish the pay to play system.
Jesus what a mess. The guy in the white suits clearly thinks that the other guy is talking about the FIFA ranking (the videogame), while the English bloke is actually talking about the actual FIFA ranking, which is importan to determine how good a National Team really is. That's utterly embarrassing. Now I understand why Soccer is not going anywhere in the US when even the pundits are totally clueless about the game.
Herculese Gomez ism't talking about the video game... There has been an on going argument for years that the FIFA world rankings aren't accuratte. around 2006 we were in and around 8-10 in the World rankings... no way that was the true ranking.
Wrong the mentality is hopefully not confident that must change. Also considering anyone American not just college/ or pros, but let's not forget the hidden talent brushed aside because of technicalities. Our women are more confident
Wouldn't say that the USA are absolutely trash, they just need to address the major problems that have not been resolved in the team. Got caught out too easily during the Costa Rica match and were pretty sloppy against Honduras. It will take a while...
Skullcrusher88 honestly usa futbol has been shit for the last 20 or so years because of the mls look at all those player to u think they can make a team of the like of barcelona or manchester city no because the mls has no hunger or ambitious because they habe no youth system and relegation
Anyone in the comments arguing and saying this country is the best or that country is the worst takes these games too seriously. Part of the point of these competitions is to bring people together, stop ruining it.
I completely agree....becoming a soccer player in the USA is too expensive . You have to have top dollars. I know ton of talents of low income players who can compete at the high level. As diverse America is, they should be ranking at least top 5 in the world. The US soccer uses too many excuses..
Except for the fact that he used FIFA rankings to support his argument, Burley was absolutely right. Costa Rica, which IS a good team, beat the US by a 6-0 aggregate over the two hex matches. Look what happened to the US team in this WCQ cycle...
In America it's all about money if a young man gets offered anything it come with a debt....they say you can come tryout over here or come here for 1500$ and the college soccer here is terrible
The biggest problem with American soccer? Children have to pay to play. It's a sport of the privileged here. The kids from low income backgrounds get overlooked for kids that have the money to play travel ball.
We just sucked I agree if you didn't want a bad crowd or stadium don't go to one's that aren't favorable. We know we are strong in Columbus we didn't go there we know we are good at KC we didn't go we know we are good at Seattle go fricking there. No excuses you know you need to win stop flubbing around with uncertain hostile crowds
William Froh I agree but if you're going to cry about location don't got tova plave you're unfamiliar with they've never been in that stadium. Nows the time to be in the places you know you can win believe me it makes a difference in the mentality if the players and you could see it on the pitch. Unfamiliar location leads to unfamiliar play. The starters already know the sweet spots at the stadiums they usually play in and the atmosphere is also important. They were trash not making excuses but they didn't help themselves by playing in a stadium they never play in with a pro Honduras crowd
I can see both sides of the argument and they are both right. I personally think they need to bring Klinsmann....Klinsmann was looking at the future of the USA International Squad....he said it so many times that the USA do not have the players YET!!!!
Well, Craig Burley was right, Hercules Gomez was dead wrong. This USMNT was mediocre at best, and they couldn't qualify in a below-average region. No excuses, they're not good enough. The program is not good enough. Stop defending USMNT - they need to hear it out loud or nothing will change.
What do you think happens when we play in Europe :P You should be able to play well even though there are some supporters for the opponent. That usually only give more atmosphere.
How come they are all foreigners debating about the US team 😂...US team is shit because its not a footballing country, hence there is zero pressure on them to be good
I take ESPNFC panelists opinions with a grain of salt when it comes to US FOOTBALL and the National Team. Their opinions are biased to start with and condescending sounding.
Burley: "The reason that the US team is in this, is not because of Bruce Arena, is not because of Klinsmann, is because the US are not a very good team." Dawn accurate! The players technique is a level below good. It is so average. The players physique is also average. To play possession style or to create opportunities upfront players need to make a lot of runs to create space. I watch a US game and a Germany game and can see a huge difference in just how much more German players move than our players. We need more training, including running, period. And it needs to start at young age.
In present time US soccer is example of hard, intensive and intellectual work, and 100% this efforts gives proper understanding how to play, unfortunately, not how to win but if you want to win, find talented persons with proper understanding of development of modern soccer if you just want to play- you can use any system+ hard work but if you want to win- you have to find and use system with most proper understanding of direction of development of modern soccer+ really talented players and finally you can add a little bit of hard work)
The US handcuffs players by using outdated training schemes! If a player scores 5 goals in one game at U5,6,7,8 move him up! Don't take him off because he's scoring too often!
I love Football. I love watching it. BUT.... I live in the US... and the US team is absolutely, 100% a trash team. My evidence is this saying, “Pay to play”.
For a country as big as America, how do they not have a solid pool of talent to pick from. It's ridiculous that for a nation that loves sports doesn't take football seriously. It's the biggest sport in the world.
I dont think it has to do with talent pool as much as culture. If you have a footballing culture, then a talent pool would be useful. China and India are terrible at football, the most populous countries on earth.
The Field was wet and the USA team were afraid of falling down and break a nail or get their make up wet. They needed a perfect dry Field, because they are not though enough to play like men. Latin American teams train in Fields that don't have grass, just dust.
Who the fk is the guy in the grey suit? It matters because they didn't have home field advantage then @6:08 he says it doesn't matter you take what's in front of you. What a load of BS. He's trying to not offend anyone. The US has talented players but they're not playing well. No, Bruce Arena let go of ALOT of our talented players for the players we have now.
De Marcus Beasley being played for for 15 years; Lalas starring in the circus of saying, "USA has a chance to win World Cup"... I also have a chance to win the lottery to--1/75,000,000!
They all look so shocked he asks if they are good or mediocre, none of the other's have the balls to admit it, they aren't good but coaching and management has more to do with it than the talent. U.S. soccer has closed the gap on talent. Pulisic playing for Dortmund is proof.
I don't think it'd be much harder for the USA to qualify in Euro (if harder at all), honestly. Having to play in Central American heat on slush grass fields against strong competition is nothing to scoff at. This Euro snob needs to be quiet. In fact, Euro has groups with two auto qualifiers and then second and third chances.
Team USA's men's soccer is only playing for national pride. None of the players on that team are willing to be better than good and played themselves by not getting better during the World Cup qualifiers. They don't want championships like Germany, Italy, France, or Brazil and are never willing to play for them. This is why as an American I never watch MLS or the men's national team because there are other sports out there that are getting more attention than the real sport of football, which Americans call soccer. There is too much concern over how many wealthy people who play the sport are on the team and never ever get the job done. They should provide the less advantaged with the opportunity to possibly change the direction of this team in the near future, but this team is FAR AWAY from that.
Herculez Gomez made excuses for this bum team right up until they literally caught fire and fell out of the sky. Then he made excuses for the burning wreckage. No wonder they keep making the same mistakes. It's all a big pat on the back and "We'll get em next time, as long as you tried" loser mentality.
Gomez just take that L bro

@Anonymous Hawke fake news
@Anonymous Hawke remember when the USSR beat you 11-1?
Anyone with two eyes can see that the venues have more Spanish supporters at home regardless.
U.S.A does have some talent but overall they are below average. Burley for once is right. U.S wouldn't stand a chance in South America or Europe.
Sports Fan or Asia or Africa
William Froh They would definetly qualify in Asia FUCK outta here
Ryan Herich Doubt it. South Korea and Japan are MUCH better than almost every team in Concacaf except maybe Mexico. Also South Korea has one of the best players in England playing for Spurs. Also Australia would be a big challenge for the U.S

We're so soft as a footballing culture. No excuses, we're not good enough. Bruce Arena is trash.
fmcginnis08 so are the players.
The system brother! The coach can only do so much. Trash 2002, you remember the hand ball against "Germany."
Our football culture is great. We just need a soccer culture.
fmcginnis08 so why the fuck is there a rangers player in your profile if you're American
Craig Miller that's Gedion Zelalem...an American player. Smh.

USA needs to go to inner cities to round up all of the street ballers who play in Hispanic league. California and Illinois

He called them out the other day for being a group of "tattooed millionaires" who don't seem to be 100% passionate at the moment.
way of the intercepting fist u obviously havent been to San Diego or LA
by the way they couldn't finish above the 73rd and 85th lol
USA soccer is pay to play completely . And if USA basketball was about pay to play and a couple or a few grand a year or 2 to play at top level imagine how many potential stars would be alienated
why is he talking about Costa Rica like it's Germany or something? lol Here in Brazil we consider Costa Rica one of the weakest teams to play against. It says a lot that to the US team Costa Rica is "a very good team".
They are good. They made the quarterfinals in 2014. Also playing in Costa Rica is harder than any place in Europe.
@@ulrichvonliechtenstein6138 they are ok, for sure not even on top 10 best teams in the world.
@@卩丨尺卂卂-d8u no they're definitely not top 10. They're probably the same level as like Hungary or Austria.
Let:s be real. USA only makes the World Cup because of the group the play in. They have one very good player and he is 18, Pulisic would not make Argentina's, Or Spain's or France's or German's and other squads.
Rammel Ceri Who's comparing the US to those teams?
Kevin Ayala The dude called the USA a very good team which is nowhere near the truth.
actually before pusilic they did better lol
Considering those named countries love playing promising young talent and have a better youth system than we do, Pulisic could be playing for those squads, but likely off the bench. If Dembele is good enough to start for France, I have no doubt Pulisic would be good enough to at least come off the bench.
Hamster Bunny Dembele is better than Pulisic. Not even close
The truth hurts, but if the USMNT wants to improve, they must acknowledge what they are
With all due respect of someone who follows football and supports MLS we can't be fooled thinking that a league that has no promoting and descending system can be considered a top competitive league in the world.
Only way(s) to fix it:
Fire Gulati
Fire Garber
Eliminate pay to play
Pro/Rel
Better refs
P2 E2 yup only if they cared
I'm hoping they would but I doubt it. Will soccer be missed if it's gone from USA forever? I would not be surprised if the answer is no. It's fine, I rather watch NBA (Bulls and Warriors) and MLB (Cubs).
P2 E2 same here that why i watch European soccer (la liga FC Barcelona, Tottenham Spurs seria a ligue 1 bundes liga) NBA ( San Antonio spurs) NCAA men's basketball (Oregon ducks mens basketball)
P2 E2 pro/reg is just not gonna happen yet
Josh C, unless it's USsoccer that's incharge of MLS
*That wink at **2:25** was brilliant.*
*'Don't worry lads, i got this.'*
It's cringeworthy watching the guy in the grey suit defend and deflect for Team America.
The USA watches the women's soccer team
Ha! When Burley gives a lovely Jim Halpert face to the camera at 2:26...
I love Craig Burley. He always tells the truth.
The response here says it all... 3:58
Craig Burley spitting that factual fire
YA WANT THE USMNT TO BE GOOD BUT THE TRY OUTS YA HAVE ALL OVER THE US FOR THE MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER TEAMS YA DO FOR MONEY YA NEVET
R GIVE CONTRACTS TO THE REAL TALENTED PLAYERS THAT CAN ACUTTAULY MAKE A DIFFERENCE YA JUST WANT THE MONEY SO THE USMNT AIN'T NO GOOD
Burley pisses me off most of the time, but he is right on point here. There is always an excuse. We have to ask if we want to be a great soccer or a “JAG” soccer nation. We have to answer that first.
The USA team has to build a team around Pulisic. He has the talent to break the lines but you have other players in the team that lack sense.
WaTDeM Ho3say Are you stupid? Pulisic won't even carry the Us to a round of 16.
One of the main reasons we are where we are is that we've had decades of Hercules Gomez's blaming everything BUT the real problem. You can't fix the problem you refuse to see.
Said it from the beginning, Klinsmann should've never been sacked
Thank god the girls team is Cold
Dime10 1 to bad nobody cares.
Craig Burley going full beast mode! Tell them the damn truth Craig!
If you know soccer, you know you can't disagree with what Craig Burley says. He was 100% right.
Lmao at the guy in the silver suit “the most talented usmt, they won 14 straight games.” 14 straight and still failed to qualify for the World Cup? how is that an accomplishment
I don't like Hercules Gomez
Felipe Segura he probably is for Trump
Who knows man
Mario L makes you a coconut. I don't care about all that extra shit your talking about
Mario L the L on your name suits you
Felipe Segura I've never liked him either.
USA's team are below mediocre. USA would not qualify that often, if ever, in south america or in Europe.
I'm from Denmark we do not just qualify, and we have never lost to USA.
31 Jan 1993 USA v Denmark D 2-2 International Friendly
22 Jan 1997 USA v Denmark W 1-4 US Cup
18 Jan 2004 USA v Denmark D 1-1 International Friendly
18 Nov 2009 Denmark v USA W 3-1 International Friendly
25 Mar 2015 Denmark v USA W 3-2 International Friendly
The funny thing are that the first 3 games we played a B-team if not a C-team. 2009 we had the worst team for a really long time, and had not even the strongest setup.
Only in 2015 we had almost the strongest team, just missing the goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. But that were before we got new manager, and the players started to play well. We ware not even good enough to get to the european championship.
USW U17 can play better than the mens team
DAMN...Preach.
Craig is absolutely right. Mexico & US with the current format should qualify for the WC every single time.
btw, the two goals were Michael Bradley's fault... the center backs are supposed to be wide, the holding midfielder is supposed to close that gap ... Bradley sat and watched ... sorry, sat and squinted at the ball ...
I’m still salty about USA out of the World Cup.
3 years later USA football has a pretty bright future lol
Craig Burley is correct.
Bruce Arena is terrible. Cannot stand that guy as head coach. Please i'll even take bob bradley back over this guy.
Great. What is the next excuse? You had to play Trinidad & Tobago. This are 2 countries in1 match - unfair!
That was the realest take down of the USMNT I've ever seen. Just get 6 and qualify
kenneth daniely for what they will just get embarrassed at the world cup.
Add a relegation system to the mls, been preaching this for a long time
The Don that not going to happen
Josh C yeah I know that, were fucked lol
The Don i know and im not even a U.S. soccer fan and i live in U.S.
Im American and i say mediocre especially right now at least
I'm from Denmark we do not just qualify, and we have never lost to USA.
31 Jan 1993 USA v Denmark D 2-2 International Friendly
22 Jan 1997 USA v Denmark W 1-4 US Cup

USA are below Mediocre!
Who’s watching this after USMNT got eliminated smh
You.
Bruce Arena out. Somebody competent, young, and ambitious in
There are a lot of talented players on this US national team but the managment is so so so poor and the players just dont seem to know how to play together. The team overall is mediocre and there is a lot of change that needs to take place if the U.S wants to become a footballing superpower.
Wow, the USA is finally criticising their team. Mexico was the only country I saw do this for decades.
They may not be accurate, but you can clearly make out a difference between a Rank 4 team and a Rank 100 team.
Mediocre team
Like every team in CONCACAF
Chivo The GOAT no bad so bad that they suck
Wrong the mentality is hopefully not confident that must change. Also considering anyone American not just college/ or pros, but let's not forget the hidden talent brushed aside because of technicalities. Our women are more confident
Wouldn't say that the USA are absolutely trash, they just need to address the major problems that have not been resolved in the team. Got caught out too easily during the Costa Rica match and were pretty sloppy against Honduras. It will take a while...
Skullcrusher88 ok well I'm going to say they are trash. Worst usmnt ever.
It's pretty cool that ESPN airs phucking poker instead of our away qualifying matches.
Show more games on TV and get Americans behind the game. Right now it's behind Football, Basketball, Baseball, in our country.
LordDragul Smitty a good team should be able to win anywhere. no excuse.
Until we kick the NFL owners OUT of this sport and put in the REAL system, promotion and relegation in an open system, NOTHING will change. NOTHING.
I absolutely love this Scottish guy who is he? Cuts the bullshit and speaks the truth
In present time US soccer is example of hard, intensive and intellectual work, and 100% this efforts gives proper understanding how to play, unfortunately, not how to win
but if you want to win, find talented persons with proper understanding of development of modern soccer
if you just want to play- you can use any system+ hard work
but if you want to win- you have to find and use system with most proper understanding of direction of development of modern soccer+ really talented players and finally you can add a little bit of hard work)
The excuse is that their team is awful.
Their best player is someone that COULD be good in the future but is currently as good as Deulofeu.
Facts!
Herculez Gomez s the only one who speaks English with an American accent sigh
Matt Lau and?
he's left for dead
and he's the worst pundit out of all of them.
Yea. And his excuses r y usa continue to suck ballz
He knows absolutely nothing about football
De Marcus Beasley being played for for 15 years; Lalas starring in the circus of saying, "USA has a chance to win World Cup"... I also have a chance to win the lottery to--1/75,000,000!
I support the USMNT but we're not good. denying it will only make things worse, we gotta improve or we don't deserve to go to the world cup
God, I wish Mom & Dad would get along.
Gomez is oblivious to how terrible the US mens squad has and always will be.
