Nice Video, its my passion to grow Daffodils & Narcissus every year . I successfully saved the bulbs for next season. but there is a problem with bulb size, it reduces every year , why ??

      That’s nice .
Bulb size reducing every year !?
I haven’t heard it before , are u saying the main bulb becomes smaller or u get smaller bulbs ( from division) ?
If you have planted the daffodils really shallow , they tend to produce many but smaller bulbs which may not flower.
So try planting them deep atleast thrice their size

@@SanaAsGARDEN YES MOTHER BULBS BECOME SMALLER THAN BEFORE AFTER BLOOMING WITH 2 OR 3 BULB-LETS AS WELL. HOW CAN WE INCREASE ITS SIZE.

I think they are shrinking, may be because they are getting too much sun if they are in a sunny area .
That’s the only reason I can figure out to why they are getting smaller , try planting them in a part sun spot

Hey thanks Sana as usual..... Just stumbled upon this video.... Hopefully u can help with my dilemma... Again this is my first time spring bulb planting... I have planted a couple of containers lasagna way following ur videos last week.. Now I wanted to do some borders planting of the same, have daffodils, tulips, iris.... But was wondering how I can leave them in ground until foliage dies back.... So from ur video, if I understand right, you had them in the ground initially during fall.. Dug them out after flowering in spring and planted in these plastic pots and left them in sun for the bulbs to recoop and foliage to die out for about 2 months , then u are storing them away in cool place in a box in summer like July?.. Pls can u advise rough time line... I would love to go this route as I wanted to use garden borders for spung bulbs before I use that space for veg growing in summer...

Yes that’s exactly what I did , and yeah they were pretty good , I had to keep checking on them in july our hottest month in UK here .
This method works if u are really short on space , easier way would be popping them in fridge during the summer months

@@SanaAsGARDEN thanks so very much for such swift reply... So I can plant them in ground all three types today / tmrw? .. I guess squrilles won't go digging as these are daffodils, iris and deep down tulips? And will dig them out and repot in June? Pls correct me if u am wrong..

    • @SanaAsGARDEN

Yes you can still plant them , If I can recall u r frm UK too , so our dec temps are not freezing yet. Just make sure to mulch them up really well and protect with a chicken wire if necessary, I have lost quite a few bulbs this year, due to being confident that they will not dig 🤦🏻‍♀️

Spring blooming bulbs die back withing 6-8 weeks after flowering. So that’s just right time for u to start ur summer veg plants.
So u can store the bulbs away in a cool spot away from direct sun for the three summer months to be really safe and not have the danger of drying out the bulbs .
Store in coco peat, vermiculite ( sprinkle some water just to be moist not wet)

@@SanaAsGARDEN sure will do on ground also... After ur advice I had bought a roll of this wire from Range and thanks so very much yet again for ur kind help.. Yes I am in Slough of UK..

    Hi Sanaa.
Hope you are well. I just want to ask some questions since this is my first time to have daffodil plant, was given on easter.
The leaves are turning yellow now, so I’ll wait until it will turn totally brown right?
Where should I store the bulbs after? I don’t have much space here in our apartment.
    Thank you so much.

      Hi, am good Thankyou.
Yes you wait until the foliage dies back naturally ( all dry and brown). This is how they absorb energy from sun for next years blooms.
Storing them after foliage dies will totally depend on the climate where u live.
If u live in mild and cool climates, you can put all of them a cardboard box in some coco peat or fresh compost and keep it moist so it doesn’t dry out.
If u get really hot summers , you will have to store them away from sun and somewhere cool and not let them dry out and plant them back in fall once temps starts cooling.
      I hope it helps
