    I'd love to see you paint cherry blossoms and orchids. (I haven't looked through your entire video list, so I don't know if you've already done them. I'll check.)
    Love watching you paint, and the fact that you not only explain WHAT you're doing, but WHY. I have ADHD, so that teaching method works best for me. ♥️

    David you know I am in awe of your talent and knowledge and I have a challenge for you: right now the floral style is a lot more casual, called loose flower paintings. Can you get that loose David? I would love to see it! You can find lots of examples of this loose floral style on Pinterest.

    David, it looks like u got some negative critics. Man, what u're doing, the way u're honnest explaining the how-to is just a mark of a real teacher. Allow those who appreciate your way of teaching to express it. yes it's difficult, very difficult (at least for me) however worthed ! Thank you man. I love what you're doing. never forget one thing: Look at the positives the rest doesn't count unless with real added value in term of how to progress.

    Dear David - I know I’m one among thousands who appreciate your painting skill and your unique gift for teaching. It is so clear that you simply adore what you’re doing every day. I started watching your rose videos (and landscapes) about a year and a half ago. (And yes, I’ve been practicing, too.) This rose video today is simply wonderful. The rose is wonderful. The teaching is wonderful. Your amazing generosity in sharing your talent with us is wonderful. (That filbert looks pretty wonderful, too. I’ll be getting one soon!) Thank you so very much.

      @@JansenArtEducation You are quite welcome, David. It's so kind of you to respond. I'm sure the lesson will help me improve. You're so right about the value of practice. I'm a retired English teacher -- also very left-brain oriented. I really get a kick out of your comments about being a left-brained painter. But seriously -- whenever I watch one of your rose videos, (have been working on the 30 days series) I keep thinking that I want to thank you for your generosity and your encouragement. Today's comment was heartfelt and long overdue. Best regards, J.

    If we could all go back when we were young, remembering the feeling of learning something for the first time. Feelings of frustration and confusion but the sense of accomplishment once it's learned. It's how we know the brain is learning something new. If it's something we did before it's not learning, it's repeating something from our memory bank. Try learning a foreign language. You will experience the same feeling as painting for the first time. Our brain is amazing.

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lilliane, I say in the first part of the video why I don't use canvas. It is because the weave does not allow you to get the details of the rose.

    Excellent video as usually and so full of useful information. I will take out my Heritage acrylics again. I have been painting outside with oils for a while but now I really would like to accommodate me with acrylics.
    You use extender. I never heard about that before. I have Heritage retarder which I like. It gives you the possibility to work slowly and come back.
    I will look around if there is a lesson about extender. Hope that I can buy that in France.
