Mr. Jansen, thank you so so much for all these wonderful videos and for all the time you give to make them. It really is appreciated. Also, it is a pleasure to get to spend time with you. Your friendly, patient manner makes it seem like we are spending an hour or more in the company of a good friend. Now, whilst I don't paint flowers (I'm a landscape painter) I've found many of your flower painting techniques transfer very readily over to landscapes and I've discovered new ways of working. I hope that makes sense. Obviously, your wonderful landscape tutorials are incredible but these flower painting demos are also stunning and really enjoyable. Again, thank you for all your hard work and for sharing your talents with us.

So glad you don't let the negative comments get you down. Personally, I enjoy your conversations. I always find them interesting and engaging. I am rather demanding of content providers and if I'm bored to death by someone constantly repeating the same things and prattling on just to hear themselves talk, I quickly lose interest. Perhaps it's because I believe we're roughly from the same generation and I relate to many of the things you discuss. In any event, I appreciate all the information that you share and I feel like you're an old friend stopping by to visit while you work on yet another amazing painting demonstration. If your style doesn't match their temperament then people just need to move on. I can think of many creators that I have watched who know their stuff and present good, solid information and yet I can't stand to listen to their presentation. It truly is impossible to please everyone and it's pointless to try.
Keep putting out the same great content you have been. I'm sure the majority of your viewers would agree that it's always a joy to watch each of your greatly anticipated uploads.

David, it's really great what you are doing! Again and again you pick up the requests that come to you, creating new videos to demonstrate techniques, explain it. And so many free videos! Also a wealth of videos for your students. And all such wonderful subjects, and always in your fascinating painting style. You take so much extra time to help people grow artistically. Words are actually not enough to express my heartfelt thanks for this!

What a great lesson. I am def going to try this out. This is really the best way to paint in my humble opinion. These half tones. Ive watched and watched but NOW I get it. I got it before but now I feel like I will use it more and more. Excellent teacher. Thanks again. Also, this is a technique that takes time to learn. Its a lesson. It should go slow, by the way. Poo to those who are so impatient and want the lesson to go faster. There are plenty of elementary paintings on you tube that are done in 10 min. As for me, i appreciate the slow explanation and demo. You paintings remind me so of Paul de Longpre paintings who I just love. (I wrote that about Paul before you said it!!! Ha)

Mr. Jensen, I appreciate the time you've taken to describe every step. I am a beginner. And eventhough I wasn't able to paint along at this time, I was able to follow along visual, watching the subject evolve. I like that this was a slower paced tutorial. It's true Mr. Ross painted an entire picture in 30 mins or less. He also used larger brushes and painted on much larger canvas. Some people's comments, if and when I read them, just make me cringe sometimes. Just know, I appreciate your taking the time to teach via TH-cam. Thank you.

Just recently stumbled upon your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your art techniques learnt over 40+ years, Mr. Jansen. I have been afraid of trying florals. But you make it seem 'easy' though it's not, but certainly to some extent or other achievable by some of us, though they may still not turn out like yours (and they shouldn't! Each artist's work is different! And it would be boring if everyone painted the same! 😅)
I have a question regarding the MDF board that you use. Doesn't MDF absorb a lot of paint?

David, I'm painting along with this video. What is the name of the "medium" which is positioned next to your white that you dip into when your paint begins to dry out? Thank you. I received my order of fusion brushes and Heritage paint last week. I love the lift-off lid on the tubes!

    Hi David,
Thank you for your wonderful channel. If it was not for you, I would have not started painting. It brings me so much joy!
I was wondering whether you would share with us how to make portraits? The kind of subjects Renoir used to paint e.g.ladies with big hats, children etc.?

Please the meaning of tone the way you are using it. It sounds to me like it means value,. Or greyness? of a color

David, I so love you and the gentle way you express yourself when teaching your painting methods. I really dont think there is anyone out there who paints as beautifully as you do. I watch your videos often and each session I am mesmerized. You make it look so easy but I must say roses are frustrating to paint, for me anyway. I keep coming back to your videos and even ordered the Heritage paints. I don't know. But I will continue to watch you and hopefully one day I may feel comfortable painting a rose. Thank you for all you are and all you inspire us to be.
