I started playing Minecraft about three months before making this video and have been working on my initial world ever since then, slowly turning it from a small, hilly island into the safe, secure castle-like compound you see here. Even though this video is an hour long, believe me when I say that there is much more to see. Tell me in the comments if you would like me to add a Minecraft series in my already varied mix of video topics.
You may have noticed that I have OBS screen recording software on my computer. It dose not work well. Eventually I will have screen recording software that works. Oh, and if you noticed that I spelled Minecraft wrong while typing, and then announced it to everyone else in the comments section, congratulations on your superb vision and keen sense of superiority.

I built everything in my world in survival mode and did not have any help other than what I read online. I'll take a moment to expand upon my answer but first though, I just want to thank everyone for all the great comments. I don't have the time to respond to them all, but will answer some as I'm able.
I wasn't sure how well this video would be received and I'm happy you seem to like it so much. There will be more Minecraft videos in the future. As for using screen capture software, I tried OBS but it seemed to make the game play sluggish.
Concerning "survival" mode. I don't know much about creative mode other than you don't have to worry about anything happening to either you or the treasures you've accumulated through hard work. Survival mode is what I prefer, and please keep in mind that this is only my opinion. You see, for me, there needs to be the element of "loss" involved in any video game I might play. In Minecraft, I am compelled to build and gather in order to better my life within the game. I think this aspect of the game is brilliant because it is our human nature to want to "make things" to make life easier and better. Survival mode brings in another element of real life, an element that keeps us alert and vigilant, and that element is "consequences of our actions".
What I mean is, like life itself, in survival mode, Minecraft has consequences, though thankfully not as devastating as those sometimes encountered in real life. The thought of having the fruits of my labor lost all because I carelessly decided to tangle with a Zombie on my way back to my home base, is enough to make me avoid the Zombies until I have safely deposited my haul of gold, silver, diamonds, and coal, into my storage chest back home. So, more than the decision of where to place the next blocks, the decisions one needs to make in order to survive are what seems to appeal me. Minecraft is much more forgiving than real life though, probably because in order to survive and prosper in Minecraft, the right decisions seem so blatantly clear, and more importantly, easy enough to execute. Where as in real life, for whatever reason, things aren't always as clear for people.
My message to everyone: when it comes to real life, think about what it took to get to whatever point you are now. Think of the hard work, the sacrifice by you, and perhaps by someone else that might have helped you get to wherever you are in life, and don't blow it...don't carelessly roll the dice with the Zombies when the consequences can be devastating.
My videos are best enjoyed using headphones or earbuds.
The videos on my TH-cam channel portray some of the typical day-to-day activities that I do for relaxation. This video was produced with relaxation in mind and hopefully has some ASMR qualities. Too much stress is harmful to your well-being and in today’s fast-paced world, stress management is more important than ever, and so I hope this ASMR video acts as a stress reliever for those watching and a sleep-aid for anyone having a difficult time falling asleep.

@Ben Sanspiro idk about you guys but I’ve been playing since 2009 as a kid and I still act the same way: terrible organizational skills, building extremely bland houses and structures, and with a diamond sword but an iron pickaxe lol. The only thing I’m good at or mediocre at is redstone
@Ben Sanspiro “good” at building is quite subjective. You could build something, and he could build something.
I might pick his design over some over-complicated build with varieties of blocks. That type of stuff is too “busy” for most.
For example, these hub servers, sure. They look beautiful. But I seriously feel it’s lost its touch.
This is not a shot at you. I’m sure whatever you could build is wonderful, just my personal opinion.

By the amount of iron stacks and diamond he has you can tell he played for a pretty long time and he learned as time went on
my man had like 50 diamonds and 10 stacks of iron and he built a mansion like this.. i'd say that's pretty good for an absolute beginner

I mean, I feel like when we all start minecraft for the first time we all set our goals to be building a dope house/base. I remember when I first started I barely even mined since I was so focused on building a cool house & shit. Now adays whenever I play I just make a small house, big enough to hold all my shit but small enough to build in 10ish minutes. Wish I could go back to those old minecraft days when I first started & didn't even know how to light up my house
Well I had to do something with all those blocks. I already had the thing built before I found out I could throw away 64 at a time into lava.

I can't count the number of times I was just farming and tending to cattle while I watch my cousins and brother run through trenches with crossbows and dipped arrows.
When he stopped talking to listen to the music, it filled me with such nostalgia of 2012, where my sister, my brother and I all sat down on a cold Christmas Day and played minecraft until nighttime. Man I miss the good old days of this game

When i first played minecraft my dad had already been playing it for a while, he taught me how to build castles even larger than this, me and him arent very close now but i still build castles to keep holding those memories in my heart

I was 8 years old, pocket edition was fairly recent. I was still in my newbie stage, and I had Xbox 370, and pe. I built my father a small world. It's had a ghost Train, a diamond mansion with glass walls and rose bushes, a more humble house underneath a waterslide, a boat game, a giant portal and a giant swimming pool- heated and with diving boards. My dad was spoor and I would sit in his truck just building houses for is to live in and rides for us to play in. In crying because now im 13, and haven't seen my dad in 3 years.

Minecraft is what you make it. People can play it competitively, in toxic communities, they can play it with friends, on small multiplayer servers, and they can play it alone, in a very Zen way like this gentleman.

Watching this a year later. This is truly how minecraft is supposed to be played. Not making a world, messing around, and then deleting it to make another one. This man spent a whole bunch of time learning by himself and spending quality time on his world. Minecraft is supposed to be a peaceful game so it really fits. What I'm saying is that this nice man played the game in it's intended way without even knowing the basics. This man is a true legend and a man I respect. I salute you.

Nah i think mc should be played however the player wants its truly a sandbox thru and thru, i have a survival world with massive walls surrounding a self built village, and on the other hand a modded world where i just go around killing and setting up temporary camps

I'm gonna be honest, he's better at Minecraft than me. i might have more technical knowledge, I might be better at combat, I might even be better at building, but I can't appreciate the simple parts of the game like he does. I can't stick to one world and grow it and continue to enjoy. He's better at the game than me because he's having fun and he's more satisfied than I am when I play. This is one of my favorite videos on TH-cam, not because of my love for the game, but because of how genuine it it. Keep up the amazing work.

This makes me sad, I know it shouldn’t, but this is the only good memory I have left of my dad and me. I still remember the first world we ever made together. And I remember spending endless hours with him laughing and building random things. That’s what makes me sad, hearing the music brings back those memories so everytime I play I have to turn off the music. But nothing beats the older version of Minecraft that was simple and full of imagination. Man I miss those days, Minecraft is a huge part of my childhood. Maybe I should log in the ol 360 and revisit those memories. 😢

Let me help you. By exploring the world I'm quite sure you saw beautiful flowers. Collect them, put them into the crafting table to make dyes. Color the wool you make your bed from, then make a bed with the coloured wool. It's as simple as that.
Also if you hold shift while walking, you can't fall over the ledges.

I've had one incredibly amazing world i played on together with an old friend i lost contact with many years ago. We build our bases inside a mountain, or rather inside a hill. We had our own seperate bases but they were all inside that one hill, and we connected them with eachother with hallways and everything. Us 2 weren't the only ones playing on that world, there was 1 or 2 more i think. But i remember loving the base i made so much and being so incredibly satisfied with my work on it, sometimes i only logged on for that base. I kept making upgrades and it just got better and better. It was so satisfying just to walk through it. I really don't know what it was but i was so in love with that base. Anyway that base had a backroom made entirely out of netherbricks wich was made to enchant and make potions in. I lost my account at some point and i was never able to play on there again. That was the same time i lost contact as well. I made it a tradition ever since to always make a special basement or backroom for potion brewing and enchanting out of netherbricks and lava lights. But you wanna know the saddest part? Years later i called him on my phone, yes i had his number, found it and remembered the old times again. I called him and guess what? He didn't remember me. He had no idea who i was, i told him my old playstation name and he still had no idea. Needless to say i ended the call on a short notice and i was pretty sad. I still think about those times and how much fun i had with him.

My old ps3 broke down and my dad threw it away, so all of the old worlds I had are now gone. He probably also threw away the disc for the game. I'm sorry about that bro.

Today was a rough day for me, decided to give this a watch and almost started sobbing when the music came on while he was just happily talking about his Minecraft world. You can hear how happy he is about his accomplishments in his world.

Starting from when he started to speak about his world as Sweden played. Sweden, no matter what happens in minecraft wether it’s an update, a completely new world, this music will always be timeless, triggering memories of the game no matter what, wether it’s a memory of the last time you played or your first world. The amount of nostalgia in this video is incredible, even if it’s not intended
i only started playing minecraft in 2015 or so, but i can say that sweeden feels nostalgic even though i never heard it intill 2022. every time i hear sweeden playing while im playing in my cousins realm, i turn up the volume all the way and just hum along to the song. same with other tunes, even modern ones.

I wish more people recorded the screen with a camera, I know it's not standard or technically impressive but there is something so comforting and nostalgic about it. Seeing things happen in front of or around the screen like pointing gives me intense tingles.

I actually got inspired by this guy, but to build a home inside an ocean temple underwater (without draining water around it). I sponged the inside, added some signs for the room names, and made it look pretty good! It only took me one day to make since I only built on the inside of the temple.... It's quite something the impact that this video has had on so many of us. Many who watched it felt inspired to download Minecraft and create their own worlds, me included. Along the way it spawned the Realm of Patronville where we can get together and build amazing things, but at the end of a day or a long week I always end up back here. This for me epitomizes what Minecraft is all about in my mind; a humble showcase of the result of many nights spent plugging away trying to build a better life within the game. The great thing is that this world is still easily recognizable over 90 episodes later. Even though much has changed, much has stayed the same. It's been a privilege watching you progress throughout the years. Stay golden R!

when I watched this video I came to the sad realization that I can’t even remember my first minecraft world
In my first world I was probably flying around in creative, blew a few things up and then deleted the world. If only 5 year old me knew the significance the game would have on my life.
I remember it only because it was a hard time figuring out when to harvest wheat. 9(?) years old me had to ask parents and that seems comical to me now.
My first world was on minecraft demo, before I knew you could google things about minecraft. One time I found a swamp and was amazed to show my friends there were trees with vines in minecraft. I also felt like a genius when I figured out you could mine in a staircase instead of straight down
I remember the first time i played but not the world since i was so scared that i literally don't do anything and die for a lava pool, even without any zombie i was scared af when night comes, i never played minecraft for months after that, i didn't even know that minecraft was a big game with a big fandom, i was playing in my Xbox 360 (i miss it) and the version is so old that don't even have multiplayer local, or Iron golem... i'm sorry if my english is bad
Edit: I still remember that the atmosphere of playing a old version in Xbox makes my head hurt, something about it makes the game scarier for me, also it have a translate "credits" to my language, and that's weird because in PE it was a lot of years for they add that, and when they add at some point, it was english, so i was the only in years among my old friends that know what was written in the end. I miss these old days. Again, sorry if my english is bad
Minecraft before 1.13 was such a simple game, every time I see new players playing for the first time before 1.13, just makes me smile. Not to say that the game became worse after 1.13, it’s just that Minecraft became a bit more complicated, and just has a million mobs and blocks.
And there's someone who can say this about every update, lol. I've been playing long enough that wolves will forever be a "new" addition in my mind.

The way he is so patient and takes things one step at a time while slowly explaining things is so awesome to me. Because people seem to always be in a rush trying to get things done but we have so much time on this earth and we should just take our time so we don't waste all of it

Seeing how this was only three years ago, and even adults- young, middle-age, maybe even seniors- were playing this, it does put a smile on my face
Well one day when we all be older, we still can say that minecraft made our childwoods, and with luck, our sons do the same, and minecraft will never die this way
it would be one of the best things for us gen z-ers and gen alpha's grow up and start playing minecraft with our sons and grandsons. epic

This might be my most favorite Minecraft video, the whole world emanate first experience energy, the every now and then bases so you can feel safe while making a trip knowing that you have some backup place, the whole mining operation thing, the walls the glass in the ravines, man, I wish I could just delete all the knowledge I have on Minecraft and start fresh.
Whenever I’m having a hard time, I always come back to this series, I just want to say how happy this makes me, the absolute joy it brings back into my life. This guy is just amazing. Please keep yourself safe out there

I’ve played Minecraft for 12 years, have beaten the under dragon countless times, built hundreds of bases and red stone farms, obtained all of the rarest, best possible loot and amour in the game, and I learnt something about Minecraft in this video, that you can open gates with pressure plates 😂 Also, the scale of how big your base is for how long you played for at the time is really impressive!

😢 I'm tearing up, this video, these comments, the whole vibe is so wholesome. Looking at this is so nostalgic, i have been playing minecraft for about 7 years and I am missing the old days so much right now.

This is genuinely one of the best videos on youtube, not because of the asmr, but because it feels like you're just sitting next to him while he leads you around his fortress. I love how genuine he is about everything he does. The way he carefully steps around corners in case there's a mob, the way he builds everything out of cobblestone, the way he mob proofs everything but not perfectly because he's new, building giant outposts for his mines, it's awesome. This gentleman truly enjoys this game just like the rest of us did at some point.

As a young lad i played a lot of Minecraft and i made all sorts of different bases and houses etc., but never once did i think of building a castle on an island like this one. This build is so simple and I love it. It brings back so many memories of my childhood
