I have a Hornby 2721 class that the qheels just... don't freeroll? My other hornby model, a Hymek, rolls back and forth fine. I don't have any track and I'm a bit skeptical about putting a battery to the wheels. It's the 2788 numbered model if that helps any.
There are exceptions! This should work for any 2 rail locomotives that pick up across axles. Types that won't work (in my experience at least) are things like Hornby Ringfield models as they pick up from one rail on the loco and the other on the tender, only working when put together. Doing this shouldn't damage a model however due to the low voltage, therefore if you're not sure if it will work, give it a go! The worst that will happen is nothing at all
Just what I needed. Thanks.

Thanks for this great tip appreciated
Applicable with any type of locomotive? eg: Lima, Piko, Roco, Marklin?
