I never understand heckling; like you’re going into an argument with someone who technically gets paid/makes their living to rip people apart publicly.
i don't understand how a grown adult cannot read a simple sign against heckling
They just want attention because they're whores. Good or bad, as long as someone's paying attention to them, it gives them a sense of validation. They have no other way of developing meaning in life other than shouting "LOOK AT ME!"
Especially when the guy you're taking on has a microphone!

went to the comedy club with friends, they were doing the same thing to the comedian, the comedian was relentless to the point they had to leave. was the highlight of the show.

That's the sign you are looking for in an excellent comedian. One that can feed off the crowd so well they can completely change the material on the spot. This man needs a contract.

Any comedian will tell you that crowd work is the easiest thing to do. Anyone who’s a little bit witty can do that stuff.
Walter Ferres also know as "most comedians"....usually one sign that one IS a comedian--roasting. Telling stories/jokes and holding a room comes later. A combination of BOTH is an excellent comedian..

Went to see a comedian and the table behind us were talking so loud, I couldn't head the show. Turned around and just shouted "SHUT THE FUCK UP! I'VE PAID TO SEE THIS GUY. YOU WANNA TALK, FUCK OFF TO A BAR!" Needless to say, they shut up after that lol

I remember one time in Benidorm a stand up comic dealt with a table of young inebriated English lads. "Son,they named a soup after you. Thick country vegetable". They were totally done by that.

I had the privilege of seeing Robin Williams do it in person (in Berkeley, CA) almost 40 years ago. Heckling chick tried to hold her own, but Robin just shredded her and she was in tears. I can't remember whether she fled or not, though....

The best part is when the heckler realizes they cant win so they resort to trying to explain themselves and it just makes it so much worse for them😂
A few months ago my wife and I saw a comedian perform whom we both really liked. It was a rare night out for us, and one we looked forward to. Luck of the draw, we got front row seats, and seated near us, also in the front row, were two drunk ladies. They were in their own little world, chatting, laughing, interacting with the performers. Distracting to performers and audience alike. Afterward, I contacted the headliner through her website, and told her how much we enjoyed her, and how sorry we were that she had to put up with those two ladies. She responded the next day - thanking my wife and I for seeing her, and admitting that those two ladies were really bothering her throughout her set.
So, next time you go to a show, if you're inclined to be a loud drunk and think you are hilarious, you aren't. Do the performer and the audience a favor and take it outside.

A comedian's favorite time I believe is dealing with drunks they make fools of themselves and he just helps them out. This comedian did a great job 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I attended one of these shows, same thing happend, our table of 6 agreed , we got up went to the bar, asked for our money back or , eject the idiot causing the problem, i went to the stage, apologised, and told the comedian what we were doing, he agreed, and stood down until it was sorted, the idiot and his table were told to leave.. Result, a great night out, every table had a free drink and we tipped accordingly, great night out..

I watched my father burn to death. I can still remember him screaming. The people who were there said my father died long before the tanks blew. They said it was me that was screaming.

There used to be a British show called Never Mind The Buzzcocks. One of the hosts was Simon Amstell. On one episode, Bill Bailey had the misfortune to be faced with "famous for 5 minutes" Donny Tourette & his tirade of awful insults. Amstell had the most appropriate comment to make which applies to every single heckler at a comedy gig. "Bill is a professional comedian. You won't win!".

This doesn't just happen in comedy. I've been speaking in public, at corporate meetings, in universities, at marketing events, since I was 16 years old. I love hecklers, because they add comedic value to whatever speech I'm giving. Sure, some people usually get roasted, but it adds to the value of the speech.
The people onstage get paid. Hecklers don't. They just drink and push the limits of true comedy imo
