Any of them would crumble with 2 or 3 inches on them. I've got metal ones that I have to put a center prop in as part of the winterizing process. Let's see someone come up with something for one of these flimsy things.
This is great information, thanks. I'm going to try to find the rest of your videos so I can strengthen my canopy. The last time I went camping we had very strong winds come up suddenly in the night and the top ended up blowing off, not before the frame bent. What a nightmare! Luckily I could get replacement parts. Will there be leaking at the stitching where you sew on the extra straps and if so, what would you use to waterproof?
Is there only three videos in the series? How many I best continue the process? Tornado season here and I need to utilize for some garage work and seal her up a bit and this school of thinking is not my current capacity for a bit if I need to learn this skill. If I need to I will, and I'd like to avoid this mindset switch if possible.
Sounds good now do one for real winter climates…with snow and high wind

Is there a reason why you secure the strings out so far vs closer to the canopy?
I always do mine really close. Is that wrong?
Where are you going to test it where there’s tornadoes ? Does the modifications affect the warrantee?
