So nice to see the mother cat looking so much healthier. The kittens are adorable! So nice that they have your family of animal lovers to watch over them. Liked the video of the yuccas. They grow very large here in south Florida as well. The mature trunks sometimes look like elephant feet. Beautiful cedar root over rock design. Enjoyed watching your video.
Love the kitty update. Its great to see them. They have grown so quickly. It's great to see your techniques some I've used too. I struggle reading ring Dyslexic so, books I try to miss. But this is how I learn, by watching then doing. You're very good at how you present yourself and what you're doing.
The rock that the Thuja happened to grow on there is a chunk of fossilized Tabulate Coral. Definitely adds an interesting texture to the planting! I agree that when looking for a pot going with something that would match either the fossil's color, or the tree bark is the way to go. It might also be interesting to choose a pot that plays off of the hexagonal shape of the Tabulate Coral? Keep of the great videos! They've been incredibly helpful with a great number of my trees.
So glad to see the cat family is doeing so well ! And so cute! And of course the ceder tree must be happy, being kept in such a good shape and state. .Always really like it so much to see this getting doen. Thanks!
I am playing catch-up with videos! I fully understand the need for a more appropriate pot, but in the interim, I love the effect of the blue in this instance. To me, it suggests a small island surrounded by clear blue seas - a soothing yet exciting illusion!
Thjua is my faverite potted tree i have some young big ones and some 10year old mame and some 20year old shohin all cut and grow not matter the size or shape the thuja are just so easy to controle as long as you water the thuja dont care how you prune them
I am very interested in watching this specie being trimmed. I still do not have one just because It seems intimidating and not conventional. When I see the right tree I think I'm ready to jump in. Thanks Nigel you did a very nice job on this group.
Another one of my favourite Thuja plantings! Wonderful composition - made even more-so since it was composed by nature. I think your beautiful rock might be Niagara Escarpment fossilized coral - super special find!
Hey Nigel, did you get to see the progress you wanted with the trees in your glass greenhouse so far this year? Did they grow with the vigor you hoped for? How bout recovery from pruning and repotting?
Those yucca absolutely blew my mind!! I live in the foothills of the rocky mountains in Colorado and get cut by yucca relatively often. But I have never seen a yucca over 1.5 meters in hight or a diameter of maybe 15 cm. Our winters kill them back to the ground I think, I have never seen anything like those Italian yucca trees!

It’s funny how some trees have many flushes of growth and some have just one for the season. My Japanese maples put on a huge flush of growth in May, but nothing the rest of the season, even if I prune them. I have a bur oak though putting on it’s third flush of growth this season. It’s only a year old and already well over 3 feet tall. I think it’s a myth that oaks grow slow.
@@andersnrregren9087 Near Chicago. Growing season for trees here is May until October. It could be that the oaks are native here and grow more vigorous in less time. Probably 90% of the trees in the forest preserves here are oaks.
I just recently got a thuja from a nursery, it's very bushy but I realized when I went to prune it I dont know how the foliage grows. Most other trees you can see the branch develop with the leaves around the branch. Thuja kind of has this flat, zig zaggy foliage, and I'm not sure where to trim it to be safe, yet effective. Gonna watch your other cedar videos and see if I can figure it out.
Those kittens are the cutest…thanks for the update
I just love watching you work Nigel. For some reason, I find it relaxing observing the evolving form of a bonsai from an ordinary tree.
Kittens are growing & cool
Yuccas, always liked the cool trunks. TO is really nice and weeding, never ending story.
Oh ,georgeus kitten,so qute.🥰

Super cute kiten babies 👶
Yet another awesome planting, nature does some cool things! Those kittens are so cute, glad momma and babies are all well.🥰
The rock the cedars are on looks like it may be a fossil of honeycomb coral. Love the update on the kitties.
Looking spectacular, Nige, what a lucky find to see multiple saplings growing on one rock in nature!

My kids have been loving the kitten updates!
Cedars make some of my favorite bonsai. Keep up the good work Nigel! :)

The hexagon shapes definitely are crystals. Rock over mineral!
That Orca looks like the cutest drunken sailor EVER! 🥰
So, so cute!!
Hi Nigel your bonsai pruning video is always interesting and inspiring. I could learn a lot from your videos. Thanks.
Pretty momma. My son would happily take one off your hands if we had the opportunity. But that's just not possible right now.
Very nice.

There's a simmilar Yucca "clump" in a park near my university, very nice and old with cool root flare. They get really nice with age

Nice one
I hope mom is getting fixed after the kids are adopted
Is there a trick to keeping cedars healthy and producing new growth?

👍
It always rains twice.
Where can i find a nice find mist watering can like that? i have been looking for something similar.
Great Video Nigel! Beautiful little Cedar
"I have not done any root work" pause "on the rocks". Lol I was going to say, Nigel did not do any root work? 🤔
Where did you ever find this tree?
Where did you get the rock?
👍👌🍎🙂
You look like P.M. material!
Love that cedar Nigel! So cool how it came to be ROR naturally.
