- In this Hearts of Iron 4 Timelapse, I let the game run for 48 hours straight. This timelapse included the tiles galore mod and expert ai. The game started in 1936 and ran until 2002.

American Civil War totally screwed over the US-Russia-Japan power bloc at the end.
The Soviet Union has recently been fixed, now it holds up pretty well against the Germans and others
It was a 3 way war, wasn't really surprising.
The pocket of Imperium Romanum in inner China/Shun was more impressive. It never fell, despite what must have been a logistical nightmare.

It wasn’t lagging by the end but was getting extremely slow because of the extra tiles and massive amounts of divisions.

Knowing how the Soviets were in the 40s and 50s plus how stupid Hitler's disisions during WW2 were, them holding out against the US and Germany doesn't surprise me, from a historical POV.

@@tomasgogashvily5350Well, many of his poor military decisions are spoken about in sources relating to the history of the Third Reich in WWII. There was, scarily, a real chance that the Axis could have won, had it not been for Hitler, probably the most prominent Axis force, making many poor decisions.
For example, he dismissed multiple effective military generals, and take direct control over many forces for himself, or otherwise delegate such duties to low-quality leaders.
He also decided to have the country invade the Soviet Union, bringing a deadly force to a second front for his Reich. This is especially considering that he did not retreat his forces back home during winter, even when scorched-earth tactics were used by the Soviets to give his forces nothing to use as shelter.
Overall, we can be grateful today that Hitler was an irrational idiot in terms of leadership. Had someone else been in his place, there is a real chance that much of Europe could be held in the tight grip of an evil dictatorship led by the Nazis today.

When it comes to military decisions, he was actually on point, at least, until total collapse.
Blitzkrieg was actually one of the main reforms that the German military had undergone, and it wasn't welcomed by the older hierarchy due to a different concept of war.
Operation Case Yellow was a huge success, and the decision was made by Hitler to authorize the operation, even though HQ had a different plan
Unrestricted submarine warfare was seen as "cowardly" by the German Navy command, Hitler put a man in charge who concentrated solely on submarines and sunk 3000-5000 ships.
At that time, European strategic plans were always based on taking capital as a means of complete victory. When the German army failed to take Moscow, the calls were made by HQ to renew it in 1942. The economic situation and bombings of Romanian oil fields forced Hitler to adopt a fairly new tactic, as taking the capital didn't guarantee strategic victory.

Operation Citadel was the last attempt at stabilizing the front, or retreat all the way to Dnieper River.
Air superiority was one of the most important factors in conducting any land operation, and Hitler heavily invested in creating the Luftwaffe. The Air Force was something new at that time for the German military. German higher hierarchy was conservative on war conduct
Failure on all fronts from 1944 was the endpoint for Germany, given the atrocities they committed, they didn't surrender knowing full well the consequences from USSR.
Of course, you know the past history, and can judge at decision makings at large, but at that time, the information they had, gave them a different kind of picture.
By the way, after Germany invaded Poland, German diplomats called for peace, which was rejected. German goals was Soviet Union, and even UK/France had plans in invading it, by bombing Baku oil fields

During the video, the loud metal clangs in the music occur every 5 seconds, so if you skip the video on pc by 5 seconds right when the clang hits, you will get a nice anvil banging sensation in your ears

You can get some pretty big buffs to non-core manpower from focuses.
Italy is like the protagonist of an anime, he almost loses, but then he remembers what he's fighting for and he becomes even stronger and destroys everything and kills Obama's kids.
Forming Imperium Romanum gives you cores on much of Europe, so you get a ton of manpower. It's absolutely game-breaking, except the requirements to form it mean that by the time you do the game is already over so it doesn't impact balance in normal games.
