  • Apologies for the audio difficulties on the original post of this video on Wednesday! We think we have banished all but one gremlin!
On Day 4 of Our Ireland Road Trip, we're heading out to Connemara from our base at Avoca House B&B in Galway. We'll stop in Oughterard at the adorable My Little Flower Coffee and have a latte made by owner and retired pro rugby player Matt Healy. Then onward into the beautiful mountain scenery and a photo op at Lough Inagh.
Next we visit picture-perfect Kylemore Abbey and their walled Victorian garden, learning a bit about the history, romance and tragedy of this castle-turned-monastery. Just a short hop from there is Connemara National Park, where we'll see some of the famous Connemara ponies and tell you their interesting origins. Then join us as we do the lower loop hike up Diamond Hill for some awe-inspiring views.
Return with us to Galway on sheep-littered roads, then we'll head down to the Latin Quarter to check out an authentic Irish snug at Tig Neachtain. We'll finish the night with fish and chips at McDonough's, then soak up the nighttime atmosphere on Quay Street on our way back to the bus stop.

    Hello from Ireland 🇮🇪.
    Really enjoying these videos.
About the sheep with various colours on them...
Another reason the farmer use it (it's called "raddle") is so they know which ewe has been see to by a ram, which has the raddle attached it's chest. These ewes will have a colour mark on their back.
Raddle looks a bit like a big lump of lipstick and reminds me of that old song about lipstick and collars 😁.
    Looking forward to more videos.
    Go raibh maith agat!

@@thissecondhalfadventure it's nice to hear you like the place, when ya see the place everyday, ya don't appreciate it as much. Its a pity you didn't make it to the top of diamond hill, you could have gotten a good ariel view of kylemore abbey, the national park(I work there) is next to the the abbey, neighbours:)

@@donallmccrudden4812 Yes! I agree that most of us under appreciate what is around us every day. We really wanted to do the trail to Diamond Hill but didn’t have it in us that day. Sounds amazing! Since you work there, I have a question. We thought we saw some deer and goats on our hike. What kind of other animals are there ? Thanks.

@@thissecondhalfadventure 👍👍their is red deer, wild goats, foxes, badgers, hares, rabbits(in places), otters, pine Martins, stoats and plenty of bird and insect species. Basking sharks and several types of whales are occasionally seen, including killer whales on the very rare occasion. Large tuna are sometimes caught about 50 miles off the coast, a freind caught a 900 pound tuna once, it was so big it wouldn't fit in the boat. That's what I can think of, off the top of my head at the moment, still half asleep:)
