Maybe they didn't get him right the first time? or he's still growing being only 18.. The NBA really has a problem with listing heights 😂 Bronny was 6'3 even 6'4 sometimes now he's 6'1 😂
I believe Holland is 6’6” and a half. That puts him around the same height as Cade. Prospects are often listed with exaggerated metrics to boost their profile. The facts eventually come out, but people already have a buzz going so it doesn’t matter by that point. The narrative about Cade was always that he was 6’8” and it was barely discussed when it came out he was smaller.
I agree! That defense will be scary, if they can all find their roles offensively and have enough spacing, Detroit might improve a lot this season, at least get more W's than last year for sure
Duren is too short to be a starting center on an elite team. It's a bald fact. Pistons are going to have to find a seven foot, or better, center who can offset the really tall centers now in the league.
Ask this in 3-4 years. He is just a kid. It's a little early to tell what kind of NBA player he wil eventually be. Good draft choice, though, I think. Good gamble. As Jerry West said, as a GM you are wrong 50% of the time even if you are GM of an elite franchise. It's just the way it is. I wish Ron Holland a lot of luck and good health.
Those are good comps, i'm sure he'll polish his game over the next few years and could probably be an all-star one day (all-nba seems far but all-star is very achievable)
I can't take a guy that can't shoot 30% from 3 or the field in the top 5. I hope he works out, I hope it works out for him. Maybe he just had a bad shooting season and it was a one off but being sub 30% from both 3-point range and the field is crazy. He can get to the rim but so can everyone in the NBA just about. He might go right back to the G league. Also, the pistons needed a center or a shooter. Why they took him i have no idea. I would have just traded the pick and moved on.
@@SportivationsI'm no expert. Who knows. A lot of people had him pretty high. They didn't need another Wing player guard. They've got plenty but anyways. 🤷 Only time will tell. Maybe it'll be the best pick in the draft? Who knows. We don't know. I don't know either just hyperbole
Three to four year project. Plays tall, will need to learn to bend his knees.. Shoots perimeter shots like a preteen. Very athletic, can be an defensive energy backup initially.
There are reasons players with a 30+ 3pt percentage are passed around from team to team. Someday people will understand there's a lot more to the game of basketball than a 3pt shot. Trajan Langdon seems to be one of those people..good for him!
I mean, it's not like we passed up on a 7 footer with 3 nba rings. We needed another Ausar Thompson to be "meh at best" on one.of the worst teams in nba history. Langdon is VanGundy in a rented Grant Hill costume.
@@Sportivations well with just holland added, no it’s a team sport. Spurs barely got 22 wins with a generational talent. Pistons need some more vet pieces.
He seems more athletic than Beal, but he's a streaky shooter. He was like Jaylen Brown when he came into the NBA, you could see the potential but very raw and needs to be polished
Horrible pick by the Pistons. Another non shooter, idk why I thought Langdon would be able to do anything right. This team is doomed. Gores needs to sell the team and the team needs to move somewhere else. Nobody cares how atchletic he is, we have plenty of athletes. We need shooting, and this guy will NEVER be a shooter. Just another Hamadou Diallo
@@Sportivations This is just my opinion, but shooting is something that isn't super coachable. I know supposedly Fred Vinson is a wizard and got Herb Jones shooting well, but that's an anomaly for the most part. Also, Herb Jones was already a 30% shooter in college. You either can shoot, or you can't typically. It's extremely rare for guys who can't shoot to develop into a serviceable shooter in the NBA
In 12 hours he was 6'6, then 6'7..and now 6'8. By the time the Pistons tip off we'll have ourselves a 7 footer.
Well, all teens don't have their growth spurts at the same tine lol
Taller than bronny jk lol
LMAO. By the time he retires he will be 7'5 🤣🤣

The potential Cade, Ivey, Ausar, Holland and Duren has is crazy. Hopefully they all reach it together in Detroit

We can still draw a few comps based on his profile! I think he can be a great player if he finds way to improve his shooting
Agreed. He’s also the youngest kid in the draft. He could’ve been a high school senior last year.
If Ron would have went to college, he would've been no doubt a top 5 player.
For sure yeah
Piston
Welcome to Detroit Ron!!
He's 6'6.5 wo shoes..6'8 w
And in the NBA they list players w/o shoes now, so do you think he'll be listed at 6'6 or 6'7 instead?
He reminds me of khawhii pg or jimmy butler he needs a couple years he could be all nba in a few years
Those are good comps, i'm sure he'll polish his game over the next few years and could probably be an all-star one day (all-nba seems far but all-star is very achievable)
1st round draft tonight I am excited
Do you think Holland will play well on that Pistons squad?
Welcome to the Kings
Wasn't he drafted by the Pistons?
Looks like he’s been playing in Pistons colors for awhile
True!

Yeah I felt like the Pistons could have selected players that would fit better on their team, but maybe their scouts liked him?!

The Spurs play in the Western conference though. Maybe 18 wins?
But he isn't another Ausar Thompson. Ausar is Ausar, Ron is Ron, and you are you...meh at best, I'm sure!
Sounds like another Westbrook
He's 6 foot 8

Taller Bradley Beal maybe
