Unreal video mate. Came across this as about to do the same to my Z4 track car and this video has gave more information than I have seen anywhere else. Good job, keep it up.
Tip for anyone else doing their coolant hardlines: Use a soldering iron on the plastic stuck inside the block VERY carefully. I used this method when both of mine snapped in the block, and you basically slowly make an incision inside of the little ring and it'll snap the seal thus allowing you to just pull the rest out by hand.
@@pythondon haha you got this, when they snapped off for me I thought the car was done for, but now she's pulling better than ever. I also based my exhaust system on yours, just got it done two days ago and holy shit does she sound good now. Thank you for sharing all your findings!
@vladimeister. No way bro the X pipe system? Thats dope man! Goad you are enjoying it! I loved my set up. Thinking about what i’ll do for this one, we’ll see
@@pythondon Yup, pretty much everything the same, but I left the first resonator in. Did you ever get any drone on the highway/heavy load at low RPMs with that system btw? I'm trying to figure out if its just the nature of the setup or if there's a leak in one of the welds haha
@vladimeister. Yeah under load at lower rpms there is a drone but never really bothered me much tbh. Could be because I came from the straight pipe set up though lol 😅
They both have their positives and negatives. One for me was money, i had already spent quite a bit on other parts, and I heard keeping the Disa from the M54 intake helps alot as well. Then to really take advantage of the M50 intake you need to port the head which is what I would have wanted to do to actually take full advantage of the larger runners etc. The only real modification to the M54 you have to do here is Tapping the CCV ports and the ICV bung then the Disa tap. If your disa is operating fine you’d be good from there. Upgrade was just for piece of mind for me 👍
Just one word, love it, keep it up man i aint missing non of your videos. And i have a feelijg when your done with this one their is another project coming 😎👀
Yo, this is by far one of my favorite series right now to watch. Amazing job editing and filming. Your knowledge is crazy good for first time doing this. Would love if you could post links for stuff you used. Like that billet check valve I had no idea existed and def going to use for my build. keep it up brother, these videos go hard!
Thank you bro!!!! I have a list of all of it man 😉 I plan on Doing a wrap up video once everythings done and I’ll share it then with anyone who wants it 👍
Oh shit we are getting there! Fantastic episode again dude. Really enjoyed the before and after shots of the cleanup and also the struggles of feeding the engine unwanted materials😆 The quality is insane and you are pumping these vids out at an incredible pace. Can't wait for the final installations.
Broooooo ♥️♥️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Thank you man means alot man these are deff a test for me haha. Alot of work to get these out thats forsure. But yeah many crisis’ averted lmaoo 🤣🤣 So glad its over. PT. 5 is already so much fun, we’re very close!!
I just came across this channel because I was looking up E46 content and found this channel. I just wanted to say that I thought you had way more subscribers than you do, because of the quality and detail on your videos. Keep up the great work man!!!
Can’t wait for next one. Have been waiting to see a e46 turbo build like this, gives me confidence to do it all myself. Currently doing engine clean and refresh on mine .
♥️♥️♥️ Love to hear this man 👍 Glad you are enjoying it. Alot of hours shooting and editing all this but I love the E46 platform and want to keep it alive anyway I can.
Enjoyed the series a lot so far and I noticed the way you format these and edit them make it easy to watch. I like in other videos when we were under the car you explain where we were oriented and what we’re looking at. I also like that you put some music subtly in the back like beats and drums, and it’s never over done 👍 good luck
Thank you bro love this comment!! I take alot of time with the music although it might not seem like it. Was curious if it was too much or not, ty for the support bro 🙏🏼
I see you left a port on the manifold for the wastegate. Ideally you want to run it directly from the turbo, and most turbos come with a nipple for that.
Brooooo, 100% thank you for mentioning that. I just referenced the Wastegate guide and you’re right. When i was doing the manifold I had seen a diagram labeling each of the ports and I followed that forgetting I was going to be taping into the Turbo housing instead. Working out the Boost controller side of things as we speak so i can make the changes now. Thank you bro 🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@pythondon No problem! Also when doing the boost controller setup I recommend doing it with both the top and bottom fitting on the wastegate to the MAC valve. If you google you will find different ways to setup your wastegate to boost controller. When using both top and bottom port you get more stable control and no fluttering in the wastegate. And it's very important you check so you have the right ports connected on the MAC valve.
When you have trouble with the sensors, they ground via the threads you coated with sealant. Just a small bit of sealant on a few threads leaving half or more threads uncoated for ground may be better... good luck.
Wow Bro Ty for the Tip. Thank for this. We do wiring on Ep. 6 so We’ll face that then lol fingers crossed its ok but I appreciate the tip incase I run into exactly that 👍
This is the most I’ve ever worked on a car mate. Before this it was coilovers and typical brake jobs etc. I want to make a video on just this topic here once everything’s done but essentially, what DDBuilds said. Hours and Hours of research. I think understanding the simple mechanics of the turbo and whats required to convert a car. Once you get the concept really understood questions will naturally begin to pop up in your head and you can go down the list finding those answers until you understand everything you have to do. I went and looked through videos of past builds to learn stuff through there, the FaceBook Group M54 Boosted is a HUGE one as well that I spent hours searching through. Im hoping this series can really answer alot of unknowns for people when it comes to understanding how to do this completely. Will probably have a Q&A episode one day too.
@@pythondon I appreciate your preparedness and organisation. Although it's all new to you in terms of putting your hands to the work, you've set a high standard while educating the rest of us. Even if we don't want to turbo, we can see how things fit. Much appreciated. When can we expect the next ep drop?
I am preparing my e60 m54 to put a turbo on. And your video’s are very help full to get me an idea to make this project happen. Thank u for al the details u put in the video and al the efford to make it. I have one question, do u have the links to the product u did buy for this project?
Glad these videos could be of help brother 💪🏼 Love to hear this shit! And yes Bro I have an entire list that I will make available at the end of the series. That has every single item Ive purchased down to the nuts and bolts on this build 👍
Hell yeah bro mee too. First start is coming soon! E36 will be very similar and another great platform to go with as theres just soo much info out there on Boosting them 👍
Is this 2.5 or 3.0? being lazy but also giving you a comment. :) Coolant hose end braking off on the block is an easy fix. Just grab a pointy 90 degree pick tool and cut a slit then fold it in then pull it out. Takes only but a minute to remove since its so brittle.
Im not sure man thats totally up to you! You may be able to plug the port where the check valve would go previously if you didn’t want to use one 🤷🏻♂️
Just following project Yoshimitsu. This is by far the best and most informative présentation i've seen. I've had my turbo kit for over 2 years. Your series propelled to do this. Can't thank you enough brother. Lets go!!!
Ofcourse Bro. Don't post there right now as most of insta likes Aesthetic things, so once the car is all done and pretty i'll get more active on my Insta forsure, but if you want to Follow its the same as my TH-cam Name 👍
