This is very helpful for me building my Karazikar deck (the new beholder backup legend from the Rakdos D&D precon)! Beholders have always been my favorite D&D monster so I’m excited that one of their legendary cards cares about an ability as cool as Goad!

Hey, sweet deck DJ! My Fumiko EDH list plays a ton of the same cards. Also, good opportunity for a pun at 2:49-instead of “GO AHEAD,” I might’ve put “GO (AHE)AD” ;)
His ability seems slightly different than Goad. I'm not a judge, but it seems like Goad only affects creatures that are already on the battlefield, whereas Kardur affects all creatures opponents control, regardless of when they came into play. The only time I can see this mattering is with haste creatures. If an opponent plays a haste creature or you can give creature haste, it would have to attack. Is any of this right, or am I spouting a lot of BS?
@@baddonkey75 Since I posted this, I've seen it said by lots of people that this does hit haste creatures that weren't on the battlefield during Kardur's ETB. I haven't seen an official ruling as of yet.
@@boneheadcycler1412 kardur makes all creatures goaded so they attack each combat if able. What makes them unable is if they're tapped or summoning sickness. Get around summoning sickness by giving haste or nothing else. Goading opponents with vigilance creatures is a neat idea I guess
What about Mass Hysteria to give all creatures including yours haste. I think that could be very good with goad. Since any creatures they play in their first mainstep have to attack aswell ;)
Kardur is a staple in any rakdos deck :0 Forget about bulk mythic cards. This card will make you win games more often than not. @Force of will @uncommun are the best
One serious problem with this deck that I see is that if your commander isn’t on the board, you’re helping your opponents kill you faster. No one likes to swing their utility creature into certain death. You’d become an annoyance and taken out of the game very fast.
yup. I use Mogis as my commander with a lot of hatebear enchantments and holy shit the hate is real XD IT"S FUNNY THOUGH. I become archenemy with a deck that even kills myself :D
@@afspeellijstnaruto sounds like the perfect deck to put in a hellish rebuke. Then even if you get archenemy murdered you can take someone out with you
As a fellow Marisi player I actually think it's quite a bit harder to repeatedly get Kardur's ability to trigger. Evasive creatures are plentiful and getting combat damage from them is quite easy. Repeatedly getting the same creature, even a commander, to enter the battlefield each turn is more difficult, imo. I like them both and kinda wish I could run them together.
DJ for the love of God, stop using tapped out for deck lists. Archidekt is 1,000× better and looks way more visually appealing for a video. Archidekt is to tapped out as scryfall was to gatherer.
Here to represent the other side. I completely disagree. Archidekt looks like butt. Tapped Out is significantly better for quickly viewing a deck. It also allows the deckbuilder to create amazing primers that archidekt doesn't even come close to. The main negative is that EDHrec doesn't/can't pull info from Tapped Out.

Tombstone Stairwell is going to be nuts in this deck... and I plan on putting in a Lifeline so creatures just keep attacking and dying!

What would you possibly replace with a Archfiend of Despair. I like the deck list, and figured he could be useful. Grave Betrayal as well

Each combat if able is what checks if it has summoning sickness or haste. This is goad.

Marchesa's Decree would be great for this deck. It's Revenge of Ravens without the lifegain but gives the Monarch on ETB.

I think this commander is the lazy, effortless version of my beloved Marisi, Breaker of the Coil.
