For anyone who might not already know, the reason the wall shifts the eyes and mouth around is a hitbox thing. The eyes and mouth are the only parts of the wall (besides the hungries) that will take damage. If you shoot the 'body' of the wall, nothing happens. So the wall's AI makes it try to keep its eyes and mouth in between the layers of ash blocks (roof and floor) so that at least one weak spot is available to shoot, avoiding the chance for the mouth to be obstructed and both eyes to be buried in the ash the whole fight where the player can't hit them

I had a thought, wouldn't just doing the first layers do that same result? Like, the floor that you are standing on and the first layer of block you are below, can't you just make a reaally long path with just one layer and the eyes can't attack you just like there were? I now want to test it out.
Finally tested it.
Result: Doing this trick with only a single layer on the top and bottom is in fact possible. However, you need to place it pretty accurately and the space is about 15 block or so top to bottom. I was also playing it with Calamity mode, so of course it was a bit more challenging, but still simple enough. All you need is patience and lots of saved blocks.
I never noticed that the guide implodes when you throw the doll in the lava. I always thought that it would have more fanfare like fire particles but no he just implodes.
The Wall of Flesh is programmed to repel away from Ash blocks. So if you make a small tunnel of Ash blocks, it will squish itself into the tunnel.
It’s not ash blocks, it’s any two block thick layer of blocks.

the wall of flesh only moves according to the ash level/roof level. it doesn't work with any other block.

What happens if you gave the Wall of Flesh a debuff like confusion? I know he is immune, but can editing tools give him the debuff?

@@Evequeue im sorry man ur comment doesnt make sense how can u hold a knife with ur head and even higher than that?
my guess is that it's ai is coded so that it doesn't react in any way to the debuffs it's supposed to be immune to, so even if you used external tools to force those debuffs on it nothing would happen
I remembered reading something in the patch notes of 1.4 that said that while a lot of enemies became vulnerable to more debuffs, confusion requires new code for each enemy that can be affected by it which is why most enemies are still immune to it. I imagine that if you inflict it on an enemy that's normally immune it wouldn't do anything

i think the reason the mouth and the eye overlapped when it went out into the open may be because the way it moves those 3 parts is based on 2 things: which part it is, and how far from it's end position it is. So we saw the upper eye went really quickly ahead of the others, but the lower eye went nearly the same pace as the mouth, despite not having to move as long. I think this is because the mouth is just coded to move slower. A possible explanation for this is that the mouth is the middle part, thus it's what the rest revolves around. So in an everchanging area, this is the part that's least likely to be blocked, and thus least likely to have to move as much, whereas the eyes will be blocked by tiles much more often in a normal situation, so they need to be more dynamic.

But would the same happen if you placed that ash manually, and not in Tedit?
In case with dungeon walls, if they are placed with Tedit, the game reckognizes them as natural and creates dungeon, but if you actually place them manually - it doesn't work.
This is probably the case with ash too.

Fun fact though if you increase or decrease the size of the... I believe it’s the mouth, the box that WoF spawns upon death to hold the items will also be larger or smaller respectively.

One thing i find funny about the game is starting off, you wake up in a strange world with a set of basic tools, and as night time comes you realize theres monsters. After a while you come across a evil flying eyeball from some long dead titan, and after you beat it youre seen as a hero. Then you go on a hunting spree killing any powerfull beings you can find like the queen bee and deerclops, fight the mastermind of the corruption filling your world, either crimson or corruption, find a dungeon and kill its defender to get inside and loot it, normal enough fantasy adventure, right? Next thing youre doing is all of a sudden killing the wall of flesh, the one thing holding the horrors of the underworld back, dooming the planet to horrors that were locked away for a reason. Next you take out a crazy cult guy who was defending pillars that all together hold a mad titan imprisoned on the moon, you free this monstrocity and send him to your home to wreak destruction on our world just to kill him once and for all. You doom the world to kill a guy whos already locked up
The wall of flesh takes less damage to the mouth, though. (Unless they changed that) so using the tiny area where it can’t use the eye beams would be a disadvantage for both sides, I think.
All i can imagine is all the other NPC’s seeing how their neighbor dies every fifteen minutes and getting replaced by an identical looking dude
