I wish devs would drop this idea that people want to be able to do anything and everything on one character. Making a class and having a role to fill is what breathes life in these games for me. Amen. I want my character to be unique with my own set of skills. Being able to respec too easily or play any role just remove a huge chunk of what make games interesting by making our choice not matter.
@@22CKane nah I really like the freedom of not being bound and boxed into labels. I love creating my own class and all. But I do understand that sometimes it goes way too far

I have a level 20 Shaman in Pantheon and im loving it. I can group up with people in game, with the simple LFG system its been easy to find pickup groups. If I wanna solo some i can skin bears for pelts and do some mining. For $50 its been well worth it and the game will be adding more races and zones too. Winter 2024 gonna be big for Pantheon
The brighter shores premium pass was said to be a buy once and you own that content forever. Then when more zones and areas come out, a premium pass for those will be release and you can buy the pass to have access to them zones aswell. Basically the premium pass is a expansion pack, buy once and wait for the next one to come out then buy that one. And so on lol.
Definitely feels like right now isn't a particularly amazing time for MMOs but a few years from now will be a paradise when all this stuff is done (or at least in a more playable state, when it comes to stuff like ashes that is probably still 3-4+ years away). My dream scenario is that both Ashes and Pantheon succeed, since they seem like the 2 with the most attractive design philosophies to me, although that might be copium given the usual success rate of MMOs
Pantheon support pledge $50 includes access now until December 1st 2024, and ALSO access to Early Acces and the full game. You also get a buddy key for use in early access. I recommend the game to anyone who likes classic rpgs, a challenge, crafting, music, or skeletons.
I'd rather sandpaper my eyeballs off. If I'd want to play Everquest in God's year of 2k24... I'd play Everquest. Call me again when I'm 60 and "in my prime", because it's the average age of the Pantheon players.
having essentially peaked in my MMO career back in 2006 being in a top 20 WoW guild... I don't think I'll ever have the time to be a comp level player again but I wish some MMO would at least make me want to.
Well I was competing for top 10 on the server in vanilla-wotlk, so if you’ve a competitive sense, you can also just compete within a bracket and see how far that takes you relative to what times allows you.
@@liveletlive0regrets I'm plain that and it's not bad but I feel smthing's missing. I wish it would be more like classic WoW with the graphics that it has.
For me it’s not the graphics per se but the FEEL. Nothing feels as comfortable and smooth to play as Classic WoW-the buttons, the combat. I’d play any game-especially a single player one-that manages to capture it. Erenshor and Gedonia are in the ballpark but too much jank. I’m still looking. For now there’s WoW SPP.
@LurnWell I'm not trapped in the past. I just find the items and dungeons lacking something... hmm... magical. Also, the world and some of the locations are awesome, but the game doesn't do best for you to appreciate it. Don't get me wrong, I still play the game, but if a few things were better I might have been a true WoW killer.
All about Ashes of Creation for me! I've been testing since Alpha 1 and I love it. Yes, lots of bugs and systems to fix/perfect. Thank you Red for covering AOC and the others.
@@Nazgull2k1 Nah, just more focused on what I get out of the game. New World actually has spectacular graphics for an MMO, especially with its lighting using its lumbyard engine. However, I personally enjoy pantheon more. Doesn't make it better, just makes it better (for me). But this is banter between myself and Dupre who's been a loooong time part of this channel.
I really can't wait for Monsters and Memories. I played some of the testing a few months ago and really enjoyed it. I was also happy that it worked perfectly on Linux. I might give Pantheon a go as well as long as it works on Linux. I been playing MMOs since '99 and was hardcore into EverQuest. But things changed with me, major anxiety, PTSD, along with my autism, I could only solo since then. I want to change that so bad. I did group in Embers Adrift a few months ago and had fun, but then I quit playing. Anxiety gets to me. Here is hoping something can snap me out of it and get me to play the types of MMOs I enjoy the most, and not solo ones like WoW and ESO. I prefer the old school, group-oriented, style.
I have pretty awful anxiety too. It's a struggle sometimes. I hope you can find fulfilling experiences and fun in whatever mmos you do play. And if you ever see me on id be happy to group with you.
I also feel a certain anxiety about grouping. I get anxious when I know I can't just quit playing because my dog needs attention or my partner wants to show me something. I feel bad asking my "real" life to wait because I'm locked into playing a computer game. I often start in a group by saying I only have 1 or 2 hours to play. People still get annoyed when you say you have to log out.
@@Redbeardflynn I appreciate that, thank you. I did go ahead and join your Discord server. No idea if I will ever talk in it, but I am there just in case haha
@@dupre7416 That is never fun! I always hated having to tell people I have to leave. A lot of times I would just Alt + F4 and just say I got disconnected and can't get back on. There's another Isometric sandbox MMO that just came out called Gnome Online.. It's actually been around for a while and was shut down but came back completely revamped.. It's a 1 man project.. All the Isometric MMO's is actually refreshing to see. Another mention is Haven & Earth which comes out tomorrow..
It grabbed my attention a few years ago. It has potential I think. I didn't have the best first impression of it but I'm still going to circle back to it when it goes into EA.
@Redbeardflynn I hear that. I think you raised an important issue about the health regen. I can't really see that being a fun mechanic, but TBD. Love the look of it though.
thanks for making this video. You showed me that I don't need to waste my time on any of them. On a personal note, I really don't like top-down games, sooooo. I like games that are like Gw2 or WOW in style. I find them far more immersive. Most people simply say that I am not a gamer. Fair enough. The two games with Unreal engines looked quite nice, but the game play seemed off-putting for me personally. I would love to see a game with gw2 quality along with the Unreal engine for it's beauty.
You play games. You're a gamer. Doesn't matter if it's wow or the most hard-core uo server. And if none of these games strike your fancy due to gameplay I'm happy this video was still informative and helpful! Wow and gw2 just released expansions so you'll have content for a while. Ans possibly, gw3 sometime in the future
Ashes of Creation is the last MMORPG I crowdfunded back in 2017! I am Settler & am patiently waiting for Beta testing! I now wait until full release of a game because we as gamers have been burned to many times!
I was a big fan of Archeage, the first year of the MMO was truely amazing. My guild grew, I was the first on the our server to get a 2 rider horse so the guild master would hop on and direct our way through PvP zones. We did all of the ocean content, found most of the treasures and I made a hobby of selling sails to pirate bands for their ships... I really hope Archeage 2 doesn't repeat the flaws of 1 and doom itself... but I won't hold onto that thread of hope. I just want another good role based MMORPG. I miss the team work. Being generic hero number 2million has become lame.
Archage was the best MMO ever created im my eyes. Such a shame that the people that got the rights destroyed it with monetization scams basicly. I hope Archage 2 continues to be amazing.
They're indie companies using that money to fund development. It's a bit different than selling a $90 auction house mount imo. Or $20 for a few days headstadt to an expansion.
So many isometric MMOs in that list. I can’t understand why that is such a popular perspective in 2024. If you don’t like isometric or tab targeting I think Pax Dei and Evercraft are the only games left on the list.
Many of us left Everquest 1, not because we wanted different game mechanics and even less PvP, but simply because the graphics were outdated and would not change. Finding a clone of Everquest 1 (which the "pay to play" Everquest 2 was not) is an expectation but the announced models unfortunately have graphics from 20 years ago, so what's the point?
Pantheon sounds great in theory. I remember watching some devs play. All they did was surround every simple harmless mob, and wack it for like 5 whole minutes. With very robotic animations and the worst sound effects I've heard in an mmo.
If Ashes of Creation can capture some of what Ultima Online was in the late 90's/early 00's I'm 100% in. Before EA ruined it UO was 100% about skill and everyone just pvp'd in normal gear purchased from smiths, etc. because when you died everything stayed on your corpse for looting. It sounds awful but honestly it made the game amazing. The major cities were packed on the weekends with smiths and other crafters selling gear and other stuff. Because there was a real free market economy nothing was overly expensive and jumping back in to a pvp fight was quick and not a huge grind. The game had an amazing community and still miss it to this day. No other game has come close. Shout out to any former UO players!
Hey Mr. Redbeardflynn, I'm a hardcore Everquest raider from 2000 - 2010 I used to even pay $29 a month to raid on the legends server and miss the good ole days.. Anyway I just wanted to ask you if you were aware of the Everquest progression server they have running? It''s currently in Scars of Velious and is populated with daily raiding guilds. I just wanted to know if you were aware of it or not I haven't seen you mention anything about it in any of your videos?
Teek? I've been playing teek a bit. It's been my cozy place since it launched. All my hard-core raiding was on phinny from 2016 to 2020 so now I just take it slow and enjoy. I covered the launch of the servers a few months ago and did a mid year update on the state of everquest but that was more on their recent panels and such.
REALLY want to play Pantheon... having history with Everquest, EQOA, Everquest 2, Vanguard... even having employment connected to those games... Really want to play it. However, I'm a disabled veteran on fixed income, so I manage to keep the current gen Xbox, because that's only $4-500 every 6-7 years. I can't afford a PC that can do the same level of things, though, as those would cost over $1000, easily, and need a couple hundred every year or two. And, Pantheon isn't going to be on console, sadly.
The reason why consoles are cheaper is because the companies are taking a loss on the sale in hopes that you buy their overpriced basic features like online play.
@@wingedhussar2909 That doesn't change anything. I don't care 'why' it is cheaper, only that it is. Like I said, disabled veteran on fixed income. When I began transitioning into that position in life, I made the decision to quit messing with PCs. Just as some BG: I learned to program in BASIC by age 7, and was repairing computers by 10, being paid to do it at 14. I became certified for pretty much everything by 22, only that long because of a stent in the US Army, which rewarded me with a disability before unceremoniously kicking me out (medical discharge). I then proceeded (at 22) to spend the next several years doing PC Repair, Tech Support, and even being paid to review video games, as well as working (briefly) for IGN. So, I know a lot about computers, probably have forgotten more than most people will ever know... I used to know every place to get all kinds of items and at amazing discounts, etc. I'm not making the decision to be on console just for fun, or product love, etc. It's because I now have a very fixed income, and can't get a job anymore. So, again, sucks that console very rarely gets any love from MMO developers, and because I used to get PAID (by IGN) for working with Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, used to write fanfiction for IGN for Everquest, too... It sucks that I probably won't ever get to play Brad's baby he worked on for so long, the spiritual successor (it looks like) to Vanguard. Brad was an amazing visionary for games that actually required people to work together. We don't have many games like that anymore.
@@BIueharvest I played EQ for around 10 years, EQ2 for 3-4, EQOA for a year, VG for a couple. I'm not looking to play those games again. I want to play what Brad was working on when he died. I've already played all of his other stuff.
Maybe you could buy one of those Asus Rog consoles, they are basically Windows gaming PCs, they are way cheaper than a gaming PCs and they run regular PC games. You can then connect it to a display, mouse and keyboard using an USB C hub and use it as a regular PC, I'm planning to buy one to play Pantheon in the future.
I really want to like AoC, but the fact that they charged like 120-300 USD to test their game and combinations of it being developed for 8 years and having 1 incomplete Biom from what they promised made me lose all hope... Brighter shores however looks like it could be a lot of fun
Been back playing CoH on the Homecoming server. Such a refreshing change of pace. Just further proves you don’t need UE5 to have great MMO. You also don’t have an MMO built around micro transactions and 90$ mounts. Great community.
Can't wait to test the heck out of all of these and hopefully find one that clicks! Leaning towards Ashes of Creation, Pantheon, Evercraft, Monsters & Memories... ok yeah this is going to be a problem for me.
Same. I just dont think it adds to the game. But so far they're pretty committed to it. We shall see! There's a lot of other parts that are fun, I did like the combat for example.
@Redbeardflynn thanks for the shoutout! Pax Dei's update is a lot of incremental refinement alongside some great combat updates! Not massive progression yet but still great improvements. If you are looking for some player made cities. We are making one of the largest and most immersive for players. And there are plenty of other community projects to make some as well! It takes coordination but is really rewarding! Stop by sometime!
Hey there Eltarii! I hope people come to you for pax dei updates because I'm woefully under equipped 😅 I'm looking forward to the combat refinements to see if it makes it feel more weighty though. Look forward to seeing where it's all going and enjoying your coverage!
Interested in Fractured Online. Installed it, played the safe haven tutorial and once on mainland I realised this game has 29 players at peak time.... Can't beat Outlands.
Population is it's biggest issue imo. There definitely are other issues but population for sure. Will be interesting if f2p + dungeons can help revive at all.
It's where we're at tbh. Granted early access has been around for over a decade. I'd rather pay to test though that pay for a 3 day headstart in a triple a mmo tho.
One thing I'm kinda sad about is that none of these MMORPG's focus on, or more specifically 'only' allow, a first person view experience. In my opinion, only allowing first person view gives the game a far more immersive experience, and at least for me a far more enjoyable experience. One of the many reasons I stopped enjoying the original Everquest is because they implemented the ability to zoom out into third-person view when the Legacy of Ykesha expansion came out. Being able to zoom out is indeed convenient, but like many other conveniences they added, it takes away from the overall experience. It's like going from being the character, to controlling an action figure of the character instead; it creates a pretty big disconnect. Even the experience of when you are interacting with another player is changed. You no longer look into their eyes while talking/typing to them, you are instead looking down at them like some kind of ethereal being, likely not even facing your character towards them. Often times conveniences take away from an immersive and enjoyable experience because they can greatly influence us on how we act and think. Even though we don't 'have' to do them, it's almost always expected of us because they are usually far more efficient, beneficial, easier, faster, and so on. Humans naturally want to follow the path of least resistance. If it's more convenient then we are obviously going to do that, even if it ends up being a net-negative experience in the long run because we rarely ever think of what comes after. It's a shame game designers don't try to harness the power of convenience in a more positive way more often. The most convenient thing to do when encountering random players in classic EQ was to group with them, interact with, rely on, and help them. It was almost always a positive thing to meet another player. Things have changed so much nowadays. What do you usually do when encountering players in a lot of the modern MMO's? Avoid them like the plague, unless you are forced to group to get something specific. 😕
Definitely looking forward to Monsters and Memories, Still salty over apperance look on Pantheon but will still check it out. Until we see the League MMO I think Classic Plus will be the number 1 im hoping for!
Love the list. I'm definitely in the old-school group when it comes to what I enjoy, but I will probably try out Ashes at some point as well. Most excited about Pantheon, but Evercraft and Monsters & Memories also look pretty nice. ATM I've been trying to like "Throne and Lavatory", but it does seem to be packed full of those systems you're talking about, unnecessarily complicated and designed so you spend real money to upgrade your character. Im currently obsessed with "No Rest for the Wicked", which is doing a big update soon and possibly introducing multiplayer... not an MMO though.
EVERYTHING is ALWAYS in development, early access, etc. on these videos!! (Not by any fault of the creator). To the point that when a game is finally "officially released" everyone that's been playing beta or early access (which is pretty much everyone) already knows how to get max lvl easy, all the meta, etc. It's just so annoying. I miss when a game was new, it was actually new. These companies have figured out it's more profitable to just charge people to test for them, than to actually create a finished product that slightly more people will purchase. But based on this video, I decided to give Pax Dei a try.
It's unfortunately where we are in the genre atm. Though I much prefer the in-dev indie MMOs versus what lately has been overly monetized MMOs big on flash and small on substance that stack enhancement systems to encourage you to pay more money. I think most of these games are trying primarily just to fund their dev, though, not fund their wallets. They generally dont have publishers fronting the bill.
Big problem for me with AOC is a game shop. Even if its NOT pay to win it probably has skins and such that look COOLER than gear you obtain in game from hard work. Meaning time spent doesn't get you what money spent does. Back in the day like with EQ you'd see someone with a really cool weapon with stuff dripping off it or an aura glowing around it and they only got it from HARD WORK. They got it from epic long quests that took them MONTHS. Now you spend 15 dollars and can make your shitty sword look cooler than an epic one. That sucks. It kinda reminds me of a better looking Warhammer online.
@@williamlaprarie3007 Yea p2w sucks and is a deal breaker. Pay2 look cooler than people who spent TIME over money is just a slap in the face to grinders. Its greedy and makes people who like to grind feel like its pointless.
Great breakdown, thanks! I'm mostly in limbo until ECO or MnM comes out lol Nothing else quite grabbing my attention in that same hyped feeling, but I am old. Get off my lawn and give me a spiritual successor to EQ! 🙂
Haha I'm sorry that those two are in the "uncertain test date but look for announcements" category. But at least with mnm you can look toward 2026 and more frequency next year as they ramp up. You've got a framework for when you can play! Cheers and thank you for the kind words on the video.
@@Redbeardflynn Very excited for their futures! I've been in many of their open tests since last year and absolutely loving them both! Chomping at the bit for the next tests as usual. :)
Okay, so that was SUPER weird. I was "watching" this video on one screen, and playing Void Bastards on the other. When the narrator started talking around 8:39, it really confused me WHOLE LOT, and I thought the narrator in Void Bastards was talking to me in the game, because it's the same voice actor! LOL. That was soooo weird.
It's unfortunate the open pvp stuff as it does cut out a large chunk of pve. There are several of the games that I like the style of but are pvp oriented that just rules it out for me.
At least through ea there won't be. I think they'll assess the market when they go into 1.0 to see what's viable. A few sub mmos have struggled mightily over the last few years.
@@Redbeardflynn as long as I know they have a sub in mind, it's a complete no for me, like I did with pax dei. I like those games, but I would never pay monthly anymore after WoW. Thanks for the reply flynn

Oh God, you can delevel in Pantheon? I like the idea of semi hardcore mechanics.. like corpse runs, debt, and the fact that you can't necessarily solo everything, but deleveling is one of those annoying, pointless mechanics that just makes things frustrating for no reason. I remember people talking about deleveling midraid when I was playing eq2 back in the day with them, and you just have to end the entire raid for the day because you lose so much from that, wasting everyones time... Not only that, but i feel it would encourage me to leave groups a lot faster; I'm not gonna risk deleveling because I died 12 times because people don't know how to play their characters.
The good news about all these games is because they're in open dev you can leave feedback. I think the opinion you have on deleveling mirrors my opinion on item drop. More frustration than meaningful. But! I'm not the only one playing. And people have strong opinions
@Redbeardflynn True. I suppose I should look and see how punishing it is, maybe it won't be as bad as I'm making it up to be in my mind. I suppose the only reason I'm open to items dropping on death is because I played RuneScape all my life lol, so I'm used to risking the majority of things I carry anytime I do anything.. maybe if I played the older MMOs with deleveling I might be as equally open initially.
@@Camelotsmoon I can probably help put it in some perspective! The Death Penalty has undergone a few revisions over the last few months. When it started it was 10% exp loss on death but up to 100% rezzes. Now it's roughly 5% exp loss on death with up to 50% rezzes at higher levels + you drop your items you have in your bags but not your equipment. However, at least right now corpses do not decay so you can go get your corpses whenever. There is a plan to eventually have an expensive corpse summon npc as well with a cooldown. So it is rough, but its not horrible. I think not having corpse decay makes a big difference and not dropping your items. I'd also expect more tweaking throughout EA.
When you say Corepunk is a MMO which plays as a MOBA: it means "Corepunk is a Multi Massive Online" (game) "which plays as a Multi Online Battle Arena" (LoL, HoN, Dota 2, HotS). Don't you mean "Corepunk is a ARPG focusing on survival aspect due to basic health regen is gone, including a focus on both PvP and PvE"? Or is Corepunk really played as a MOBA - are you put in an arena when you leave town?
Open world. So the combat itemization etc play like they're heavily moba inspired but you're doing thst in a big open world where you have pve zones and pvp zones
I played alpha 3 and it was painfully slow... no out of combat health regen and low% RNG drops on quest materials. Took 15 hours to reach level 6 and it never got better. Probably much better if I had joined groups. I honestly think they purposely slowed the game to a crawl to hide the fact that the entire alpha is one small zone...
Evercraft really makes the people who say "gameplay over graphics" put their money where their mouth is lol. Seriously, look past the graphics and give the game a try. I have never played an alpha game that has run this smooth before (unless you turn on the weather then it was more like a slide show 😂)
Unfortunately without triple a funding, that's kind of what you get. Blizzard, ncsoft...etc aren't willing to make an mmo like these so it's left to indie crowdfunds.
Got into throne and liberty. AGS is playing with and talking to the community. Since global they keep fixing things that went wrong in the korea version.
It's a high price for sure. Definitely recommend people wait if they don't want to be testing it. I'm not sure what they'll do for their next beta phase after alpha ends
Full-time when trying to cover multiple mmos is nearly impossible. At least to the extent I used to with eq with 2 to 3 raid nights a week. But the closest right now is probably pantheon or eq.
Pantheon is just eq 3 or the “real” EverQuest 2 isn’t it, it’s Brad McQuaid, you can lose levels , quest xp is meaningless and while I don’t know if it has the pulling and cc mechanics it’s has the monk and enchanter classes.
I paid. It's not worth it at all...the servers will pass you off and make you quit. It's just rubber banding constantly and they def downgraded the graphics on npcs and players. Also the grind is sooooooooooooo boring. It reminds me of final fantasy 11 where you post up and grind monsters. I don't think this will work now that mmorpgs are bigger...I'm betting they will put server layering on..which they promised they would not do that. It's just horrible. Watch a streamer instead.
Pax Dei is dead and will not come back. They majorly screwed over all the people that have been playing for all this time by wiping the servers. Huge groups of people that spent like 200 hours building cities, all their progress is gone. What a terrible idea.
So, basically, the best upcoming MMO for the next 3 years is... Path of Exile 2 🤣 Same state the MMO genre has been in for like 10 years - "Check again next year"
For people that enjoy path of exile 2 sure. Though it's not a true mmo. For others who enjoy games on this list like myself? Nah. These look and/or play good.
AoC is a horrible experience atm. They downgraded the graphics....npcs and characters look older then the landscape with textures. I feel like i got scammed because they have been showing us better videos with better graphics. The servers are the worst i have seen in an alpha
The more people buy an early access of an MMO, the bigger the distance I keep from the game, as it shows how dumb the community of that game is ;) Early access my ass greedy bastards :D release your shit if its ready or gtfo and work on it :D
Costs money to make an MMO, with no publisher, EA is what you get. However if you want traditional publisher MMOs, those exist too. Most recently, Throne and Liberty, Lost Ark, New World.
Almost every pvp mmo feels terrible to play. The well made ones have pretty healthy populations, like Albion and Eve. There are lots of pvp mmo fans out there just waiting for a well made pvp mmo that appeals to them.
It's been an undeserved subgenre for a while so I imagine several are trying to catch up. Pvp is also a gold mine if done right because it's player created content. It refreshes itself with minimal dev work. A pvp battleground can last decades as seen in wow, raid? Probably a few months (barring progression/classic) So there's a built in incentive of having one of the rarest things in an mmo where players devour content: evergreen player made content.
@ a wow pve player could play all non battlegrounds content without ever doing pvp. Pvp games can be hugely successful, I don’t know of a single western pvp mmo that I’d call a huge success. Albion online seems to do ok, accepting it’s niche status. I have heard that they do better in Korea.
I just like the idea of an entire PvE oriented game, but with a separate mode for anything pvp, like battlegrounds. EQ2 had a battlegrounds for a little while, and I played the hell out of it.. was actually extremely fun keeping my group up as a healer against other actual players... But I just hate everything about PVP when I get ganked while mining rocks or something... It just pisses me off. I will say though, I played new world and I got waaaaaaaaay more invested in the PVP in that game than I expected though; probably because it was always in the back of my mind that if my faction had more territory than we could keep our bonuses... So I was literally head mod of my factions discord somehow lol... Totally unexpected result. I ended up just quiting though after the third gold dup was discovered in the span of 1 and a half months, but it was a crazy run and after it.. it has made me slightly more open to PVP mechanics; probably why I haven't just entirely ignored ashes and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
Everquest landmark was the Minecraft esque game. Next was even more ambitious, probably closer to what stars reach and ashes or creation are doing. But evercraft is not any of that. It looks like Minecraft but you don't build in it. It's just the visuals.

Agreed 100%. I've had a ton of fun in the game already. Hours upon hours so far. Been busy the last two weeks or so but can't wait to get back in.
@LordMiki420 More like? Who would want that in 2024? For nostalgia purposes? Shouldn't be about being trapped in the past, but I get it.
I’m so over most MMOs but I’m very interested in Evercraft.

My 2024 self is impressed with most of them, especially Pantheon ;) my 2007 self would probably be impressed with Throne and Liberty tho...

Corepunk actually looks really refreshing and aesthetically interesting to me
It grabbed my attention a few years ago. It has potential I think. I didn't have the best first impression of it but I'm still going to circle back to it when it goes into EA.
@Redbeardflynn I hear that. I think you raised an important issue about the health regen. I can't really see that being a fun mechanic, but TBD. Love the look of it though.
Great video RedBeard
Thank you so much!
Great list, downloaded a few. Thank you!!! Also, this is the first time I've seen a hot youtuber for gaming content!!!!!
Glad you found some to try! And thank you!
thanks for making this video.

Waiting 10 years for a completed game is getting burned! It won't be perfect. No game is. It's about to be 2025.
@@BorgWolf359 You’ll be waiting till 2026 earliest
That is fine by me! I want them to take their time & make a great game no matter how long it takes! Rushing games has always been bad!
Paying to test a game is wild to me. The greed of these companies is unchecked.
They're indie companies using that money to fund development. It's a bit different than selling a $90 auction house mount imo. Or $20 for a few days headstadt to an expansion.
Ultima Online did it for their beta.
Really getting your money's worth with the green screen jacket. That's a creative use of it though, should keep doing it. :)
I'll play pantheon when it goes free to play. Paxdei is doing what wurm online already did, player built everything.
Pantheon sounds great in theory.
I remember watching some devs play.
All they did was surround every simple harmless mob, and wack it for like 5 whole minutes.
With very robotic animations and the worst sound effects I've heard in an mmo.
I hope there are enough people to support these games coming out. We really need some new blood!
I was interested in Pax Dei up until I saw that buying early access meant nothing for actual release.
Hail Evercraft online. I helped with some of their promo gfx. Such a great game.
Oh that's awesome. Their promos have been great. Well done
that jacket is pretty cool 10/10
Haha thank you!
When Ashes of Creation was announced innitially it wasnt bill as a pvp game or I would have not bought into the game.
You should check out Palia. It’s housing and random skills. No fighting just hunting. There is cooking, fishing, among other things.
Just as some BG:
I learned to program in BASIC by age 7, and was repairing computers by 10, being paid to do it at 14.
Get a cheap old laptop and play everquest on p99 or quarm
I really liked Evercraft.
Paxdei is grand in scale but yeah, it needs some pre-existing cities/towns.
I care less about a games graphics than lore, content and purpose. I’m looking forward to Pantheon.
the health regen mechanic in corepunk is a big NOPE for me. just feels bad
Same. I just dont think it adds to the game. But so far they're pretty committed to it. We shall see! There's a lot of other parts that are fun, I did like the combat for example.
@Redbeardflynn thanks for the shoutout!
Paying to work for a company is such a weird concept lol
It's where we're at tbh. Granted early access has been around for over a decade. I'd rather pay to test though that pay for a 3 day headstart in a triple a mmo tho.
Corepunk early access don't gives you a mount it's just a skin for your mount. Zero pay 2 win.
I saw the price point for Ashes and I'm like duck me I'm not paying to test a game that's what we have testers for lol
Some of these games look cool. But any game where you lose you loot or exp when you die is right out!
Mortal Online 2 ... the best pvp game mmorpg, guilds and new players we are waiting for you show how strong you are)]
One thing I'm kinda sad about is that none of these MMORPG's focus on, or more specifically 'only' allow, a first person view experience.
I remember seeing them talk about unique looking items earned in game. So not all will be cash shop.

It's unfortunate the open pvp stuff as it does cut out a large chunk of pve. There are several of the games that I like the style of but are pvp oriented that just rules it out for me.
I wonder if pantheon still focuses around a monthly sub, or if they are going away from it. It's the only thing holding me back, getting a pack

Lost me at Delevel...was looking forward to this too
Evercraft really makes the people who say "gameplay over graphics" put their money where their mouth is lol.
Seriously, look past the graphics and give the game a try. I have never played an alpha game that has run this smooth before (unless you turn on the weather then it was more like a slide show 😂)
To have oldschool hard-to-level MMOs going into EA is pure bullshit. Who's gonna GRIND and burn out on the game before release? It's so dumb.
If it's not here 'now' it doesn't exist. That's the bible rule of all mmorpg

I'm sorry, but the pricing for Ashes of Creation feels really, really scummy to me.
@@natebookout811 not to mention the 100's of exclusive fomo cosmetic packs that were tacked on to earlier EA packs.
It's a high price for sure. Definitely recommend people wait if they don't want to be testing it. I'm not sure what they'll do for their next beta phase after alpha ends
What MMO are you currently maining/playing fulltime?
Full-time when trying to cover multiple mmos is nearly impossible. At least to the extent I used to with eq with 2 to 3 raid nights a week. But the closest right now is probably pantheon or eq.
Pantheon is just eq 3 or the “real” EverQuest 2 isn’t it, it’s Brad McQuaid, you can lose levels , quest xp is meaningless and while I don’t know if it has the pulling and cc mechanics it’s has the monk and enchanter classes.
I want to try Ashes, I just really can’t decide if it’s worth it right now. I keep going back/forth.
It's not
Definitely not. Keep in mind that the servers aren't even online all the time yet

Fingers crossed the warhammer mmo in dev is 40k. And Stars REach is making lots of progress.
Path of Exile 2 🤣
Same state the MMO genre has been in for like 10 years - "Check again next year"
For people that enjoy path of exile 2 sure. Though it's not a true mmo. For others who enjoy games on this list like myself? Nah. These look and/or play good.
Are we in 2025 or 2010?? Half of this games doesn’t even look like mmos
AoC is a horrible experience atm. They downgraded the graphics....npcs and characters look older then the landscape with textures. I feel like i got scammed because they have been showing us better videos with better graphics. The servers are the worst i have seen in an alpha
ja mislim da su tu dve igre, jedna za reklamu, druga za stvarnu uporabu. Jel ako je ono što su ponudili igračima Unreal 5, ja sam onda Unreal 88 Papa!
Corepunk reminds me of Albion online
Lots of similarities.
Never heard of Scars of Honor. Is that a mobile game? It very much looks like a mobile game.
No, pc. From a new company. I heard of them first when I believe they flew out Josh strife Hayes to consult.
Your shirt is WEIRD!
A little late on the "gameplay-on-my-clothes lulz" trend... it failed
Seems the art of creating MMO`s has been lost.
Ashes of Creation > girlfriend
The more people buy an early access of an MMO, the bigger the distance I keep from the game, as it shows how dumb the community of that game is ;) Early access my ass greedy bastards :D release your shit if its ready or gtfo and work on it :D
Costs money to make an MMO, with no publisher, EA is what you get. However if you want traditional publisher MMOs, those exist too. Most recently, Throne and Liberty, Lost Ark, New World.
im waiting archeage 2 / chronicle or corepunk
Almost every pvp mmo has a lackluster reception, why are so many of these devs pvp oriented. 🤷♀️
Probably a few months (barring progression/classic)
So there's a built in incentive of having one of the rarest things in an mmo where players devour content: evergreen player made content.
As someone who loves pvp mmos I agree you have to have a good mix of pve and pvp
I ended up just quiting though after the third gold dup was discovered in the span of 1 and a half months, but it was a crazy run and after it.. it has made me slightly more open to PVP mechanics; probably why I haven't just entirely ignored ashes and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
everquest next was able to craft... but it get killed
Everquest landmark was the Minecraft esque game. Next was even more ambitious, probably closer to what stars reach and ashes or creation are doing.
But evercraft is not any of that. It looks like Minecraft but you don't build in it. It's just the visuals.
