What I like about Black Metal is that it has lots of Thrash and Punk sounds to it. I listen to it more than Death Metal.
Well, this is Blackened Thrash, so that would explain the punk influence you're hearing
This isn't "pure" Black Metal. Black Metal is one of, if not THE diverse genre in Metal.

Agreed and one of my favorites ironicly enough isn't even on a Desaster record ... its his side project EURYNOMOS (listen to trilogy first). it really shines through, the straight up rawness alone makes this a giant in his discog. Desaster is much more brutal with Okkulto. With that said, I did bought this last record though (the heavy picture disk) because I am a huge Desaster fan! And it kills too. Such a great band that stuck to their recipe and has remained loyal to us too. Hard to balance out.
I wouldn't mind the vocals so much if they weren't so John Tardyish here and there. Bleh
