Jeez this takes me back to my late dad, who used to breed and exhibit budgerigars back in the 70s. He won many small prizes, rosettes, cups.. I remember, even back then it was nothing to pay £100 ,plus for a half decent bird.. but in comparison to the "big boys", who paid thousands for 1 bird, it was chicken feed. I don't know where they exhibit now, but the big event was held at Alexandra Palace.. Some of the names that were huge in the breeding, exhibition, and prize winning field were Les and Peter/Paul Joy, and the daddy of all Harry Bryan.. I wonder if anyone here has heard of them? 😮
The show wasn’t held in a control zone therefore the show had the go ahead from local authorities, Also, these birds are housed indoors all year therefore have no contact with wild birds or material potentially carrying the disease.
@@OCAVIARY It was same for Stafford show, avian flu had been seen in birds in Uttoexter but the show went on because all birds are kept in conditions where they don’t come into contact with wild birds

Oliver, the trees that you put in your bird cages are they real or false and if there real do you lean them before you put them in your cages?
hi, yes they are real. I use a mild disinfectant sprayed over them, give them a brush and wipe down then rinse in fresh water

Opposite sex means female

I think it's disgusting that you're breeding birds that can't fly. It's truly immoral.
😂Mines can fly. They are of course a little heavier but they fly pal
No one is trying to breed budgies that can't fly
