Thanks for the video. I tried an adapted version of your method of soaking in tissue paper. I first used a mini power tool with an abrasive head to carefully remove both ends of the seed. I only went down until I could just see the white inside of the seed. I did this in gradual steps as I did not want to overheat the seeds with the abrasive head. I then soaked the seeds for about 5 hours in water (at room temperature). After soaking, I wrapped the seeds in damp tissue paper and placed the tissue paper in a plastic bag. I then kept the bag at room temperature in the dark. Wow. After 6 days all three seeds had thrown out shoots. I have planted these seeds today and will wait to see if anything grows.
This video was incredibly helpful i did the paper towel method but without hydrogen peroxide and my day 5 sprouts are almost as long as your day 10s. Will be planting soon

Put them each in a pot of 5 year old soil for a few weeks keeping them watered then put them into fresh soil and a few days later had 5 trees :) no peroxide, nothing, theyre all growing really well.. one of them bent over and started flowering under the soil then the flower turned into roots and the base it continuously growing upwards but also looks like dead roots at the top... its so weird, it looks like a babies umbilical cord!! Thank you for posting I received a bonsai kit for Christmas and I have 5 flame tree seeds. I just began to germinate using the paper towel method, I'm also germinating other seeds I will let you know how it went .good luck and God bless.
I sowed my seeds 13 days ago into coco soil in a homemade propagator. It's been on a sunny windowsill inside the house all this time. Last night one sprouted and is already opening its first set of leaves! I did no preparation to the seeds and they have just been stored in a jar for two years since I collected them in Tenerife. I live in the UK. I intend to bonsai all of them :)
I collected my seeds from Tenerife too, February 2022. Now i have 5 trees. I planted them in a mix of akadama, volcanic rock and pumice, mixed with some pine bark. Every time i water the trees, like every single time, the leaves get yellowish color and after a few days they will start to fall. Any tips on what I might do wrong? The water drains very well, and i always empty the tray under the container.
I tried the paper method and after a day the seed started peeling and it was very soft. I cut a bit of the end and that work really good. I had long roots in 5 days.
When it sprouts do you put the root side down. The white area that you were showing is that the root or is that the stem/leaf part? It looks like you put that pointing up not down into the soil.

Hello Ayanta! I wanted to ask you a question, you seem like a great expert in this type of tree. I just started growing my own for three months and it is going great! Except now the trees leaves are turning yellow and falling off quite a bit. Does this tree shed this time of year? Or should I be changing the soil? Germinating these isn't too hard but keeping them alive in wet cold conditions is impossible, they need warm sunny spot with really good drainage, they hate wet soil.

That last pic is definately not 20 days lol. How many days was that? The birds, after eating the seeds and pooping it in my garden gave me 2 seedlings. I dug em up and planted them, growing like crazy. Ofcourse then again, they thrive here in the caribbean
My result, what I shown in my video, sorry sir, why should I lie. It give me the result what I shown in my video
@@thebonsaizonegardening Great video, I did not mean to offend. Just the pics you show at 9:14 saying DAY 20 is different then the one at 9:20, which for example clearly doesn't have the cotyledons anymore and the stem is beginning to harden.
Et s'il vous plaît pour l'eau oxygénée, quel concentration ?
Please write in English
@@thebonsaizonegardening What concentration of hydrogen peroxide do you use?
2 ml in 1 litter water.

No no it's not a sily question, i have to check mam
Germinating these isn't too hard but keeping them alive in wet cold conditions is impossible, they need warm sunny spot with really good drainage, they hate wet soil.
Do hydrogen peroxide important?
Not necessarily, without it you can grow
