I bought My Dream Car: Honda S2000
AP1 with 46K Miles (75,000 km); Mugen exhaust, RAYS ZE40 wheels, Cusco LSD and Rollbar, Buddy Club coilovers, and 250hp!!! I can’t believe it 😭
A yellow S2000 in mint condition. This was my dream car since Gran Turismo 2. And recently I’ve wanted it more than the R34 GT-R. Having driven both, I fell in love with the S2K. It’s the most fun car I’ve ever driven and now the perfect combo with the #forestersti 🚙 🏎
This particular car seems to hold a special personal significance because it feels like fate that it came into my life.
On 2/20/2020 while riding on the train, I made a goal to get a YELLOW S2000 this year once I passed 200,000 subscribers. With this determination, I looked down at my phone and was surprised to see that the time was exactly 20:00. I thought - hey, that’s neat. I deemed this curious occurrence The Lucky 2’s.
Over the proceeding month and a half, I started the process of selling my Roadster, then changed my mind and decided that I would keep it. However fate intervened when it was totaled but saved my life, on April 8th, 2020.
I was crushed over the loss of the roadster however the timing was weird because very soon after, @bnr34_masaki showed me this S2000 which had just gone up for sale.
As soon as I saw it in person, I immediately knew that it was the car for me. I KNEW it. Not only that, but the “Lucky 2’s" had come back. This was a Model Year 2000, Honda S2000 and it met all of my requirements. And guess when I paid in full for it? April 20, 2020, exactly 2 months after I made the decision, and the same day I passed 200,000 subscribers.
In some strange way I’m sure that this S2000 was meant for me.
And this particular S2000 truly feels like the direct spiritual successor to the 1.6L NA Roadster, in both appearance and concept.
Yellow. Black roll bar, and the ZE40 wheels which evoke the same feel as the Watanabes on the roadster. But like the NA6, for me, the AP1 S2000 defines the purest expression of topdown sports driving that has ever come out of Japan.

got mine 6 years ago with 32,000 miles...........now have 51,000 and love the feel, cosmetics and sounds.........priceless. Plus the FK8 also is ok.

Congrats man! My story was that my father brought an S2000 brochure from Germany around 10-15 years ago. I didn't know what kind of car that was and also I was deeply in love with the 350Z. Fast forwarding 10 years I had enough spare money to buy a second car, so I put together a pretty long list with all the fun cars, roadsters, etc. But what decided for me is that on every forum, people wanted to upgrade to something, MX-5 guys, Z3 guys, everyone. But if you check the S2000 forums, if you ask what kind of car should you upgrade to, there is no answer...So I wanted to try having a roadster for a year. So now it's 6 years later and I will only sell it if I will really have to. There is NO other car that is similar, yes there are faster, better, comfortable cars out there, but nothing as raw as this.Have fun and take care! What kind of tires will you use?

I’m on the same grind rn (bout to hit 10K). You’re inspiration man.
It was 3 years ago. I finally raised enough money to have one. I was looking and looking . I missed 4 or 5. I couldn't find the one i wanted in my budget and good. Stock and GT version with hard top. Less Suzuka Blue as possible . Finally i quit the idea and i continued my life. In short while i couldn't sleep the nights. I searched online day and night. I felt i couldn't rest till i made this dream real. I wanted one since 2007 without any real hope to really have it . So there she was one day. 15 minutes after the add was posted. I spoke with the seller. She said she can keep the car reserved for 3 days if i show her copy of my plane ticket. I did. Couldn't slept for 3 days. After i reserved the car i was so excited i couldn't . Next hight after flying half the globe one linking bus didn't came so i stayed awake whole night in bus station. Then next morning i saw and drove the car. It seemed just like my Prelude on a bumpy tight road.Same feeling. Same engine sound. Never drove S2000s before. I said to myself. Wow. I will spend most of my money on very overrated version of the car i already have .I almost wanted to quit. The seller said : You travel half of the globe and you are not decided. I realized i had no plan to go back. No buss reserved. No time to get to the airport to catch my flight . So much money spent on travel. It was Now or never moment ! So i took the car. I was more stressed than happy. Worried about hidden issues and driving through some biggest City in Europe to find the truck and send it home.I remember first time i stopped for gas some cute girl in a Focus RS admired the car. After i left the car and papers with some unknown guy i found myself in a huge capital with very few time, and second battery i had for my phone almost over. I took 3 buses and one subway train to finally arrive at aeroport in last moment. Two days later in the middle of the night truck driver called me to meet him and take my car. He took 5 cars out to get mine in a private parking outside my town . The guardian ask us repeatedly to leave. I drove home. My family and i, we stared and talked about it till the morning. They never saw one before in real life. Later that day i drove it hard. Not so impressive how people say. Fast but not too much torque. This year i drove it first time on track. I can now understand why people are so passionate into these cars. I am happy i own one finally. Road was long and hard for me but it was worth it !

I felt exactly the same when I bought my S2000 back in 2013. Still have it today and absolutely love it. It's in Monte Carlo blue which I think together with yellow are the best colours for the S2000. I really like your infotainment nav system. Drive safely and beware in rainy conditions. Better to avoid vtec then or abrupt downshifting....

I would get the Leather center console cover for under the AP1 console. I have a US AP1 with AP2 wheels+trans and it's fantastic
I think you are on the right track with your mods. Get a modern head unit. Tastefully do the gauges. Keep driving the heck out of it.......VTEC!!!!

V-tec V-tec V-tec.....He's already become a honda guy, a half day in. Thing is V-tec works the opposite way, from how they claim it does. Vtec is an economy setting for a more powerful motor. When it is engaged you are feeling the actual full capability of the engine. When it isn't engaged car is De-tuning it's self for economy. So V-tec is how the motor should feel all the time, if it wasn't trying to save the environment and your MPG. Race versions would have this bypassed to run like that all the time. It's like Takumi's original 4age, vs the formula atlantic engine his dad had put in later. The formula engine ditched the TVIS and VVTI because it wasn't needed in a purely performance minded engine. Yes the idle would be choppier and it would have less low end grunt losing those systems, but it streamlines the engine to enable it's actual potential. That said, always a fan of the videos, and congrats on the new car. It' looks to be in amazing shape for it's age.

Beautiful s2k. I didn't have a toy, but I had a magazine. Honda tuning this guy had a yellow one as well and I had it open to that page till I got one. It took a year, but I got it! We both found our dream cars! Congratulations brother!

You cannot really go wrong with an S2000, sure, you can buy a crap rundown one, but as soon as you have a decent one you have a good car.
There's a reason that just about every year the S2000 is at the top when it comes to driver satisfaction.

Congrats on such an amazing find, dude! I was fortunate enough to finally achieve my dream of owning a Type R about a year back and I’ve enjoyed every last minute of being able to drive it every day. There’s really no feeling like it when you finally get where you wanted to be.
