Honestly this is the direction I saw Ragnarok Online 2 going. Compared to the other Ragnarok Online 2 which I tried (which was utter trash because I was expecting it to be like Ragnarok Online 1). I'm glad they are bringing back the same classes / monsters. The 3D makes it so we can finally have more customization then helms. I remember just sitting around in RO chilling with other people, I imagine I'll be doing the same with this. Regardless of the direction they took I'm stoked to play it.
Gravity corp doesnt really understand why they keep failing making a ragnarok sequel. Its not about the cute and badass looking monsters, its not about how flashy the skill was. Ragnarok is a success because of its charmed that no one can surpass the chibi cute looking chars, the different kind of builds for each class, lots of jobs to choose from and the card system that makes ragnarok truly unique. There are too many good things to say about RO1 thats why its still the best mmorpg ive ever played til now.
This is only how Archer works early on in the game, later they have the second highest mobility in the game. They do however need to charge some of their stronger attacks which does render them immobile. But again, once you get to around level 40 you're basically gonna be running around laying traps and chasing people while shooting them.
No, the only dual wield class available is the Thief, Swordsman generally use a Sword and Shield when they advance to Knight, or a Greatsword if they choose to advance to Warrior.
The second Class is Thief, more specifically Rogue, Thief can advance into either Rogue or Assassin, Rogue is better for soloing, but Assassin is more PvP/Raid Oriented.
The original RO was popular not because it was the first one but because it tried something unique for example the Job system of Original RO was Complex but somehow easy to understand. And Other things about it that makes it unique just can't say how many there are.
Same here. I'm also curious about what kind of WOE will it be. I think it will be something like scheduled wars. Instead of 1 guild vs xx guilds, it will 1 guild vs 1 guild. Because just like you said having a thousands of players fighting is a 3D environment will be a lots of lag. :D
Wait, in other several RO2 videos, there are Porings, Masterings and even a new 'breed' Bully Poring. Well I can't say for sure, but maybe you should witness a full gameplay of it.
what they should do is kept the sprite/3D idea but make the background more detailes and the sprites more detailed. The reason RO really interested me was the 2d sprite / 3d idea it was soo orginal, and on top of that gameplay was good
They should hear this each day at least twice. I was so dissapointed by RO 2. RO 1 was my first MMO and to be honest, I think you are so right about customization especialy, I loved it. Many same classes next to each other yet almost all different.
My first MMO was RO1, then tried Dragon Nest then when I heard about RO2 I started in the open beta. My first impression was, it tries to borrow elements from DN such as the WSAD movement but the combat is point and click. Which is kinda awkward because the whole point of a WSAD movement is to fight real time.
i think RO 2 should have kept all the skills they have to use , but make the battle system real time like Dragon nest, cause honestly I love the dragon nest battle system. The only flaw i give to dragon nest is that there are limited amount of skills to use, and not enough Hot Keys for all your skills and you cant explore around or travel like RO or WoW. but other than that i think real time battles for new MMORPG like dragon nest should be considerd.
I think it would've been better if we could move and attack like how it was in the first game but with the graphics and the 3D camera rotation from this new one.
If this was really Ragnarok; the mage would've got rolledby the sea otters in a few second; the thief wouldn't be able to sonic blow just yet, and take forever to kill golems unless he critted all the time; the archer would be kiting the creatures half way across the map; and the only way an acolyte could kill anything was if it heal bombed or was building a monk. I miss the good old days :'(
the fun always in new servers man , i have so much fun playing in a new server with friends .. but old servers doesnt make me have fun that much , so they have to keep releasing new official server every now and then. for the item shop . they just have to calm down about it .. food , items that upgrades your amor , hats , thats enough for an item shop .. they dont have to make it that you can buy op things from there. and like i told you .. first 2-3 years in a new server is the most fun ever ..
Why are the graphics/engine in this game almost exactly the same as the ones that were used in Fantasy Earth Zero? these are only a tad more flashier but that's it.
First mmo in years that i actually liked. It plays wonderful the pacing in the game is really well done. it doesn't feel grindy or slow at all. It's a unique mmo for sure. and i like the way how the leveling goes + skills. Its very familiair but still different enough.
I wish more of these MMORPG had a invade system, when you can roll to one side to avoid a foes attack. Like raiderZ. also have automatic swinging every time you click and have a block button, when timed correctly, can stun your foe.
for the evade system, there is Guild Wars 2 wich is very nice. and the swinging and blocking when you want.. skyrim online will be like that. still not out though ^^
as i know RO1 only sage (advanced from mage) able to run while casting... and this is the unique playing style of sage over other jobs... Maybe they gonna make it another unique style of certain job...
We are complaining because we loved the old RO and we wish that they never changed it too much that it now looks like the hundreds of other 3D MMORPG out today that has a minimal population and short life span.
I played the CBT its fun in a different way may be bacause I'm used to love the story of the game. I never compared ro1 and ro2. and I'm a kind of gamer that explore the game no matter how bad or mainstream it is.
This battle system of stand taking hits and attacking I don't like too, but never had played another games because I didn't have money, now I play Dota, LoL, Tera, etc.. I mean, the genre Action RPG is more dynamic, but Ragnarok 1 is awesome... Have heard that these new rag was canceled and it's not working anymore, is that true?
ragnarok online is a great game. if u a dps, then the pace of the game is real fast (what you can see is juz bam bam bam, bam bam bam, and the mobs dead)... more and more hunting area added, more and more jobs added. But the real problem is no changes over the fighting/hunting style... as i known not all jobs able to hit and run, or hit stun combo... it turn out to be a "kill b4 you reach me" (for range) and "see whose hp drop faster" (melee) or "see if u lucky enuf to hit me b4 you die" (dogde)
is there still and english version of this yet? its been years since ive hear of this game /blade & soul and im starting to think they'll never get ported.
The problem is the combat takes too long for a single monster. RO had a relatively fast paced combat system where you could fight lots of monsters one after the other. They stripped that away though to follow the trend of other 3D "MMO's". They should have reviewed that when they were redesigning the game for 3 years.
i prefer the old ray of genesis effects than the current one. and so as the magnus excorsismus. though that the casting is long but the aoe distance is a bit father than the current one.
Most MMORPGs are like this. Network latency makes a combat system like Zelda almost impossible. Unless it's a fighting game which uses NetCode to optimize the latency and response times, then you're going to continue to get similar types of combat system.
RO1 is not the same as before. now you can get item if you have money. :D Ro2 brings back the experience where you hunt your items and armor.. at first I didn't like the RO2 maybe because I'm just watching others video playing it. but the time SEA(asiasoft) opened CBT and Stress Test. my first Impression was so DOPE. there's so much to do other than lvling. like collecting cards, challenges etc. it takes time you to get bored and also the story of some quest are really good.
About Mabinogi, yes it seems original coz i do not encounter something like that.. So I can assume that you are still playing that game ? Because you found the game you are looking for. If not then why do you bother looking at other games if original ones don't disappoint you? I'm curious.
TERA focused solely on the combat at the expense of pretty much all else. It only received a 77 on Metacritic and about the same level of 'just above mediocrity' by everyone else. The problem, again, has to do with how much of that resource you'd want to devote to the combat system, and whether or not everything else (a gamut from a more reactive environment to population density) would suffer. Many players complained about the lag and how some had unfair advantages due to distance from server.
BTW the only class which this game could imitate properly would probably be the swordsman. Except it's the only class which isn't shown in this video X_X
while sometimes i miss ragnarok online 2, very little aspects of it, i can tell it's just a generic mmo, it doesn't even bother putting in the thousands of monsters that existed on ro, just came up with a bunch of unnecessary bullshit nobody really cared about. it was pretty boring all and all BUT, i'll be fair to it, i loved what they did with priests. one thing that would upset me of using priests in the first ragnarok is that you would either be full support (and have no soloing abilities) or being TU/ME (and having no support/party usefulness since you would miss most buffs and exp was barely good enough for one player). in ro2 they would have powerful nuking abilities while still retaining high support value, and for a guy that had a "support ME broken build", this meant i could had tons of fun with it
lets see. in the first ragnarok farming was easy because it was an areal view but here it will just bore you because of the 3rd person view. plus it looks weird now
I do miss the original Ragnarok Online, and I don't think this sequel was all that better. While I do like the full 3D graphics, I do think that they should've made it an action-RPG like TERA in that the game is not just a point-an-click like all others. I agree with that, but there's some people don't like mainstream games. and want to try other games. remember don't judge the game by its graphics... :)
2:13 Ok, that thing looks like an oreo..
RO 2.. why.. it's just like any other MMORPG. The unique charm of RO 1 is gone...
Check "Tree or savior". Its the spiritual successor of Ragnarok, made by the same people and it just got a Green Light from steam last week.
+Ciel Phantomhive lol i saw you comment on some other video i forgot on which >_> Hi
Mister Puzzles oh, hello.
Ciel Phantomhive i think it was on a league of legends video
ToS is not very F2P friendly, sadly. Too much premium advantages. I stopped playing after 3 weeks
Why Ragnarok Online 2 was a dissapointment? Because I can't see bard songs spamming in any part of this vid
I'm probably going to try this for the hope of getting a least bit of nostalgia when I used to play that wonderful first game.
By Malkav!
It was released to open beta in NA.. just 3 days ago
its available on steam, look on the free to play section.

its priest , a 2nd job based on heals or magic dps after changing from an acolyte
The original RO was popular not because it was the first one but because it tried something unique for example the Job system of Original RO was Complex but somehow easy to understand. And Other things about it that makes it unique just can't say how many there are.
Its incredible, how Ro was one of the most famous MMORPGS are long time ago, even if it only was a grind only game :O
Same here. I'm also curious about what kind of WOE will it be. I think it will be something like scheduled wars. Instead of 1 guild vs xx guilds, it will 1 guild vs 1 guild. Because just like you said having a thousands of players fighting is a 3D environment will be a lots of lag. :D
nice animations and character design. Intersting! Looks better then the first one for sure!
It's much better then their first try making a sequel. I'm actually pretty stoked for this, I think it looks pretty sick.

dynamic and fluid? u mean one button for each class?
Creator/bio - AD, AD, AD, AD, AD, AD, AD
champ (4 buttons) - Asura, Berry, zen, fury, zen, asura, berry zen, fury, asura...
(sura before nerv - GoH, GoH, GoH)
sinX(2 buttons, 3-5 for cowards) - (1.)EDP, (2.) Sonic (3-4 = cloak, hide, grim)
LK - berserk (rage)
WS - HSCR, HSCR, HSCR
sniper - arrow shower+traps, ranger - arrow storm
prof/sage - Magnet, dispell, Fog+sw
Wiz - useless, every1 has GTB card...
My first MMO was RO1, then tried Dragon Nest then when I heard about RO2 I started in the open beta. That's just your nostalgia speaking.
I know that feel bro.
I think it would've been better if we could move and attack like how it was in the first game but with the graphics and the 3D camera rotation from this new one.
miss thia game
my first mmorpg. I still play it from time to time. I was disappojnted that the first RO2 didnt come out.
I miss the good old days :'(
Wow! It looks so much better now, but , if they just retain the soundtracks or improve it a bit, it will have the same feeling as the original one ;D
everyone waiting for Tree of saviors now
have not any words for RO2 :(
the fun always in new servers man , i have so much fun playing in a new server with friends .. but old servers doesnt make me have fun that much , so they have to keep releasing new official server every now and then.

anyone else feel this should be flyff 2 not ro 2?

I hope they make the weapon be used(wave staff/mace) than putting it on back when casting magics.
We are complaining because we loved the old RO and we wish that they never changed it too much that it now looks like the hundreds of other 3D MMORPG out today that has a minimal population and short life span.
Weeeeeeeeeeell... Some say the mastermind from RO1 is making "Project R1", and this may be a worthy successor.
I played the CBT its fun in a different way may be bacause I'm used to love the story of the game. I never compared ro1 and ro2. and I'm a kind of gamer that explore the game no matter how bad or mainstream it is.

im kinda shocked that it's actually looking good. Though i wanna see monk and asura strike ;p
Don't you think , as a RO fan, it is awesome to see and fight those monsters again in a 3D environment? Maybe we should give it a try first.
God that would have been awesome, a massive anime torchlightish mmo. With the same job system etc.
Agreed, I loved the art work and style of the first RO.
desperdicie tantos dias de mi vida jugando RO 1.... dias de muchisimo vicio, RO 1 es un gran MMORPG
Being a long time Ragnarok 1 fan I have to disagree. It had the same stale tank/heal/damage dealers setup of mostly standing around and casting.
The main reason RO was so popular back in the day is because of it's similarity to Diablo game style. Now it's different.
is there still and english version of this yet? its been years since ive hear of this game /blade & soul and im starting to think they'll never get ported.

i prefer the old ray of genesis effects than the current one. and so as the magnus excorsismus. though that the casting is long but the aoe distance is a bit father than the current one.
what is the skill used at 2:32 ? which is magnus
2:14 lutando contra um biscoito negresco! XD
Most MMORPGs are like this. Network latency makes a combat system like Zelda almost impossible. Unless it's a fighting game which uses NetCode to optimize the latency and response times, then you're going to continue to get similar types of combat system.

if there is no fire bolt like ragna 1 and if the attack speed doesnt get faster when you put agi ..Then it sucks.
About Mabinogi, yes it seems original coz i do not encounter something like that.. So I can assume that you are still playing that game ? Because you found the game you are looking for. If not then why do you bother looking at other games if original ones don't disappoint you? I'm curious.

How about the MMOs where leveling and gear makes very little difference?
I agree, you are absolutely right...
But i also love 2d mmorpg's.. been looking for one for ages.. do you know a good one?
BTW the only class which this game could imitate properly would probably be the swordsman. Except it's the only class which isn't shown in this video X_X

i hope there will be ragnarok 3 which will bring the old ragnarok gameplay feel, but with better graphic.
i have a question: how do i put more skills in the quickslot?
Guess it's just not possible to recreate the ragnarok feel again :l
Is the last class an acolyte? Looks super awesome and a lot better dps than the mage.
Why is there no swordman in there?
I'm very curious about the skill of the swordsman.
Asura strike was needed in WoEs but a good champ in a 1v1 fight really only uses it as a last resort :P
They should make the same look of ragnarok 1 (top view) then in ragnarok 2 they just enhance the graphics and add some physics like diablo 3
a question... does this still have portal between areas like RO1? or is it open like other MMOs like WoW?
Hopefully like RO1 we can deal an endless flow of damage later in the game.
A camera só fica assim, ou tem como afasta-la pra mais longe??
Not bad. This game will be a hit. I missed The original RO. but it's now BACK!!! :D
actually , poring in game -.- at the first place @.@ the video u see it high lv monster (you can see the character all lv 50 already) ....
Actually RO was released practically at the same time as WoW?
i use to play RO, some friends have tried this. none of them kept on playing. plus the trailer weren't impressive, so i won't bother.
i miss playing RO1, the best online game ever.
hey dude, what is the last job show in this video??
It is nothing but a button pressing game, I can see why many people feel very disappointed.
hmm i haven't played RO in yearssss, there was a class called gunslinger. Is it not there in RO2?
I might give it a try, but i dont expect anything high since they walk down the same path as other generic mmo's
lets see. in the first ragnarok farming was easy because it was an areal view but here it will just bore you because of the 3rd person view. plus it looks weird now
u guys remember that bow from monster hunter? love that game
I like the graphic design of ragnarok 1 a lot more!
Why would you compare the 2? They're totally different.
The only downside of this game that you can't enter the dungeon alone. To progress your quest you atleast to wait for parties.
now still under OBT -.- '' game abit/very lag... , dungeon problem (you can't in/ once you in dungeon - you can't go out)
the video is just showing us the skills not how the player/character dealt damage to a mob
My country still using ragnarok 1 but I just watch tv and theyre released the ragnarok 2. Im so pissed rn ugh
Hell yeah, but that's because they fit this kind of gameplay. If you're gonna make a 3D MMO it should be something more along the lines of Vindictus.
i played the beta like 2 or 3 years ago and swear to god, nothing looked like this!!!!! :P
I just want to see RO art and character design get a bit more serious and the environment....would love to see a RO like Vindictus or so
This looks like Fiesta Online Animation system but a slightly improved.
I do miss the original Ragnarok Online, and I don't think this sequel was all that better. While I do like the full 3D graphics, I do think that they should've made it an action-RPG like TERA in that the game is not just a point-an-click like all others. And they probably should've improved a lot more on things such as the lore.
Yeah, this style really sucks.
O hope there was a RPG that mixed TERA's free world and Dragon Nest's playstyle
This is what all of us are hoping for :I
I was thinking evil Oreo. But I think we are on the same page.
I agree with that, but there's some people don't like mainstream games. and want to try other games. remember don't judge the game by its graphics... :)
should have left top down 2d isometric view... so many people would have played plus the people who never got the chance to play ro1 in its prime
