I Survived 100 Days of Minecraft in a Terralith World ... Here's What I Did

We're spending 24 Hours (just over 100 days) in Terralith, a mod or datapack that changes world generation and mob spawning works while using all vanilla blocks and resources.
I've included Nullscape (End) and Incendium (Nether), as well, so we get a full new world generation experience. I'm going to build a little, explore a lot and show you as much of Terralith as I possibly can in just 24 hours.

Begging to have this turned into a full lets play series rather than a one-off hundred days! Terralith is SO COOL.
We'll have to see how it goes but if that's what people decide, I'm definitely open to playing it for a while. I love the world and could easily do a 200, 300 days and go from there as long as people enjoy it. Thanks!

Only thing I dislike about Terralith is it makes vanilla biomes more rare, and when all of my structure mods spawn in the vanilla biomes only, it feels more sparse, but it’s fine
That's very true. I wish the "blending" of terralith and vanilla was better and it didn't feel like "only" Terralith. If I could set idk maybe some kind of % or a slider or a set "1/3, 2/3, full terralith" it would prob be that much better.
@@RadicalElder yeah a % choice would definitely be a huge improvement, I still enjoy Terralith’s magnificent generation but I also like my structures to spawn…
im currently 800 days into a modded world using terralith for my biomes. i love it, one thing we didnt really see in this vid is the different trees that are used, you get azalea leaves on jungle trees in some biomes for example. its also really really lag friendly compared with other biome mods.
one thing i noticed is that i am missing a lot of the terralith biomes you have in the end and nether, perhaps because of other mods getting in the way.
would love to see this as a series, or even a long term modded world. you are becoming one of my favourite YTers rad!
Thanks, I definitely didn't show off everything in this one. I wanted to get the house done but you're right - I only show off the monoscale tree early on then don't show the leaves and such. There's SO MUCH to Terralith. That purple biome where I got the calcite is soooooooo nice and I didn't even show off my favourite Terralith biome in the ENTIRE video.
As you say, perhaps a series or long term from this would make it easier to show the rest of the world off more. :)
The Nether and End biomes are added by Nullscape and Incendium, which is pretty much Terralith for the other two dimensions.

@@RadicalElder I would love to see a modded world series!!! Even if it's a lightly modded world. In particular I'd like to see what you could do with some create mod farms or even some of the modded redstone contained in mods like supplementaries or quark. You are really good at farms and mechanics and it would make a change to see a more farm focussed play through of modded. Also create is super popular ATM. I Would still watch the hardcore series though,.that's one of the only vanilla series I watch.
This is so interesting. Love, love the take that it makes vanilla MC more challenging. I see how that's true. If you're still inspired by the world, I say continue it. Lots to see and explore. Videos getting *really* tight. It feels like there's been an increase in the number of shots, and it makes the storytelling so seamless. Really, really great.
Yeah! It really was a LOT more difficult in some ways ... and I love Minecraft but vanilla definitely feels "too easy" sometimes to me. I feel like once you have Elytra even Terralith is less scary but not entirely safe. I almost jumped into SO many ravines and over so many cliffs in the End and both would've instantly ended my life. Not the world thankfully but ... yeah the tall grass made creepers worse, the spawning of ghasts made that harder ... it was super interesting.

Imo this mod really comes out when you turn on massive biomes and have really good biomes blending (or a mod that can do it and terrain blending for you.) super cool vid tho, would love a let’s play, or even like a finding ever biome challenge type thing. Cheers mate!!
Massive biomes would be crazy fun with terralith, it would just take FOREVER to explore. haha But oh man it would be a great world to have. I really loved Terralith. This is the video of ALL of mine that I wish had done 100x better so I would've had a strong reason to continue. Maybe one day I'll revisit Terralith for an LP series.

Thanks Matt! This world was suuuuuuuuuper fun to play and I probably enjoyed it "too much." I want to keep playing it but I'm not sure the channel will support that ... it may be something I do, it may not. Too early to tell. And yeah, that house is awesome! I really wanted an excuse to build it and this world was that excuse.

I would've loved to do it but the video didn't do much considering the work involved. It's starting to pick up but it's been four months. lol

Yikers. unbreaking for 19! score! hehe pumpkinhead. WOW look at the end!! He's So Hiiiiigh; High above me; It's so lovely. What time is it?! End Raiding Time!! wow... Wow... WOW.. WOOOWWWW... PURPLE!! I could spend hours just exploring this world. Looking forward to more exploration in this world or another...... ps. Moss can't be pathed ;p
Villies in a boat, flying off the ledge. And the one who wouldn't trade had me flippin deadge. That mush island is one of the coolest things I've seen in MC. If I hadn't done a recent "mushroom island base" I'd move there and bring the village people with me. I said what I said.
End raiding & exploring was some of my favourite stuff in here. I just need like a MILLION more hours worth of gunpowder.

I was hoping but with the vid doing more fizzle than fly, I will most likely leave Terralith here for now and maybe come back to it later with a new approach. I have a couple other ideas in the works that I think people will like, too! :)
Great video. I always love your style and would love to see this series as a world you go to when you need a break from hardcore.
I really would love to see you as an explorer categorizing and chronicling this strange world for future travelers. That way you can do lots of traveling and then take bits back to home base to create builds with.
So you don’t have to go crazy with farms like the hardcore world, and can just enjoy the adventure.
I like that idea - exploring & categorizing ... this could be one of those type worlds for SURE. My initial "build idea" was to put a castle "falling off" one of those islands, like it had been floating there for 1000s of years and the land started falling away under it. I think that kinda thing would be crazy, too.

Yeah Terralith is AWESOME. This was a random seed except I loaded the spawn on like 5 or 6 of them just to look around. It wasn't the prettiest (probalby the red tree/autumn one was) but the floating island got it. Such a cool world!
Def enjoyed this one. also 2nd on seeing what this world holds. I think all the cool world generation would make for some amazing builds. nicely done sir.
Thanks and yeah, there are some world gen spots in this seed that are INCREDIBLE and i'd love to see what I could do with them.

there is WAY to much to bring up and talk about, but i love this world and would love to see more about it
that is a crazy end island.. OMG.. the end.. the glowstone plants are cool and the ends biomes are CRAZY GOOD
just.. WOW.. WOW.. thats.. all i can say now without saying a million things more.. the house looks great in the village
This comment is how I felt recording this. "This is cool No THIS IS COOL NOWAITTHISISCOOL" lol In the end, that End city is one thing I'll remember, the ghast fight is another for sure. And yeah, I thought about building a house but designing, fitting it in, and all that - when Neat had such a great build to fit this ... I've been watching a lot of their stuff lately so it made sense.

finally someone making LP on Terralith, only ones i coud find are mod showcases, would prefer even longer LP with building and stuff, this X days challenge meta is getting so old
Yeah I would love to make a series out of this - I just need there to be interest. Even WITH the 100 days so far it's kicked off a bit slowly. If it picks up I'll do a series on it as it's super fun.
And I agree X Days is a bit old now but what's the "new" meta replacing it? The only thing I see is "hating on Minecraft" and I can't do that one. I really love the game still.
@@RadicalElder I aboslutely understand you, and it wasnt a dig at you as much more at the youtube algo that should put forward quality content over current "meta".. youtubers have to do what they have to do to be seen.. hopefully it will get better..
as for hating minecraft, i returned to it after like 7 years, and the game is great, and with mods its still one of the best out there.

As I read your reply I started confused ... cuz I agree with you. But then I see that "what's the new meta, hating mc" could feel directed at your comment. I just want to clarify that it wasn't. I didn't take yours in a bad way. I just meant what you said - this is the current thing people enjoy watching and YT likes to push so in general, that's what people will lean into until it's not. But If you took "hating MC" as you hate it, that wasn't my intent. :)

I would love to do a Bedrock playthrough. I started one but ... something wasn't quite right with how it went so I stopped. I will get back to it. I am also planning at least 2 other new series soon. I would LOVE to get back to Terralith one day but I think I'd do the start differently.

How do you make so the map loads the black parts and you can see more? Like in 23:52
You have to render those chunks - but the black in t his is because I'm in one of the cave layer modes and I have it setup wrong. I could make it look better with a different mode (the 2nd button on the lower left t hat looks like an A)

Holy crap, something that finally makes me want to play modded. Time to abandon yet another medium aged world and learn how to use mods.
Also, I see Rad found the Minecraft battle of Verdun
The funny thing about it being modded is because it started as a datapack it's *basically* not. There are a few secrets I know about that I thought I'd save just in case I continue the world but there's a mod to disable that part of the Terralith as well, so you can actually play this as a straight datapack style vanilla world. This is super fun, though. Prob some of the most fun I have had in MC in a bit.

If only this was on bedrock before I started my current relm I would have loved to play on this looks beautiful and challenging both at the same time
With the recent changes to Add Ons and such maybe one day Terralith will make it's way there. I think you already could have an unofficial but very working Create mod, right? Terralith would be a great one for Bedrock, too! :) Thanks for checking it out.

how can you zoom in on Minecraft?
Most people started off using it in Optifine ... now I think most use Zoomify or a spyglass type mod. I'm using Zoomify in this.

I mainly just wanted to see terralith and the other 2. I love vanilla but sometimes wish it was fresher and this was a nice, easy slip from vanilla to this. I mainly used my normal mods like replaymod, zoomify and the sodium/iris stuff. Super fun :)

@@friedpotato184 I use 32 render distance and had moved around a little - everything here is within 32 RD but some of it just barely lol It's cropped so you can see what I have explored.

Deepslate coal ore is extremely rare in vanilla. Not coal 😂 but yes, the coal I saw everywhere in Terralith is very rare.
