I had a 120C arrive yesterday. I like the light and expect it will make small setups much easier to rig. The unboxing was a big disappointment however. Maybe B&H sent me a demo unit instead of new? I don’t know, but the contents were not stowed properly and the strap on the power supply has a big kink in it. Messy. But I think of more concern is the permanent attachment point of the head lead. When zipped the case puts constant pressure on that connection, and if the case is not stored with care then there’s nothing to keep the lead from getting crushed and damaged in the bag. At some point I will find a hard case which can better protect that cable. Perhaps something big enough to fit three.
Yes, you are right. Hard cases are always much better to protect. With the cable yes it feels like it may put some pressure on the cable. Let’s hope it will not be damage to soon.
I believe it is passive cooling. Regardless, there was a shotgun mic pointed at it and the lav right next to it. No noise from the control unit. The head itself has no fans. Just the casing that functions as a heat sink.

What can you tell me about fan noise? Is there any?
