Another helpful video from you♡♡~~ I hope you see this and I'm not sure if you've discussed this before but is it advisable to buy books or just borrow? What are the pros and cons if you buy your own law books?(and vice versa).
Hi Miles, I'd definitely advise you to buy your own books, or if too expensive, which is one of the cons, then just have the books photocopied and ring bound (I would do that a lot back then, to save money). For maximum learning, it's very important that you get to write on, highlight, mark, and sometimes even dog-ear the pages of your books/photocopied materials. You would be too shy to do that with a book which you knew you had to return. So at the very least, go for your own photocopies :)

Hi po Atty!!! I've been enjoying your vids ever since I subscribed your channel, your words truly inspires us to pursue law school. Question lang po, what is your recommended books for us incoming law students? Thank Youuuu
Hello! They were great books. Hope this helps. :)

Hello! Don't yet. Allow yourself to get your study rhythm going first- get accustomed to reading your codals, cases, and commentaries- before you add another material to your list. SBRN is very helpful for memorizing enumerations, for midterms/finals, and for bar review. But I wouldn't recommend it for day-to-day studying for freshmen because you'll still be learning how to deal with the heavy reading assignments from the 3 Cs. Adding SBRN would be confusing for the daily grind. But I would still use it for memorizing enumerations and studying for midterms/finals, even if I were a freshie :)
Hi atty! Do you have any tips on making digests? How specific do they have to be? Cause it's hard to memorize all the cases if the digests are detailed. I'm a first year student btw.
Hi, The Lobster (interesting username)! Tips: 1. Make your facts, issue, and ratio detailed and specific, but only as to the main issue in the case. Instead, what I would do was just read the case, then write a 3-5 sentence summary on the first page of the case. It worked naman. Haha.
@The Lobster Are these digests you're being graded for, or digests purely for your own reference? I assumed it was the latter. Either way, digests should tackle only the salient, specific points of the case in relation to the specific subject you're making the digest for. They're supposed to be short precisely because they only supplement, and not substitute the actual case. I've been a law prof and had I required my students to submit digests then, I would have gotten irritated if they had given me digests containing irrelevant issues for our purposes. 🙂

Ideally, you would study it alongside your main materials (codal, commentary, cases) for the daily grind, but I know that adding another material to the mix may be too much for some law students. I always had SBRN for major subjects as backup material, but didn't get to use them all the time because yun nga, dami nang ibang inaaral. Oh goodness. Definitely not. There are so many laws that you don't even take up in law school! Saka mo sila mababasa pag lawyer ka na.
Hello atty!!🤗 do you know a lot of people who took up civil engineering as their pre law? Hehe
I don't know anyone who did, hehe, but that certainly shouldn't stop you! You would be the first, if ever hehe! Good candidate for intellectual property practice 🖤
I have classmates who took BS Civil Engineering in college, they're doing good in law school. We also have a professor whose undergrad is BS ECE. 😊
Hello atty!

Haha! Starting late means you have more wisdom than your peers, Sir, which is a great thing! I am rooting for you. Best of luck :)
@@TinaAmadorRobles YOU ACTUALLY INSPIRED ME TO GET GOING EVEN IF ODDS ARE NOT IN MY FAVOR AS OF THIS TIME. YOU JUST MADE IT A LITTLE EASIER IN CASE I BE IN LAW SCHOOL WHEN U LAID DOWN THIS(memorization confusion) BY THE WAY I LIKE UR STAND ON ANTI TERROR BILL,BUT LET ME JUST SAY IF SOME PROVISIONS WERE TO CHANGE ex. anti teror council and some more, I PROBABLY WUD HAVE OK'D IT.
thanks for ur reply ma'am atty. regards to ur family and dogs😆😆😆
@@romanm.gallarin7588 It's never too late, Sir! Our dreams aren't going to sit around waiting for us to fulfill them, right? I applaud your determination to keep your dream alive, actually. I am rooting for you and hope that I will read a comment from you one day that you've finally enrolled in law school! :)
Re: ATB, I agree with you! If constitutionally infirm provisions were revised, then perhaps it would've stood a chance. As we know though, that discussion is moot and academic 😢
Stay safe always, Sir! My dogs say thanks 🙂
