The genre here is electro swing, which I love. Their song "Spellbound" also had a bit of that vibe. Other groups who did this are SuJu "Black Suit" and "Shirt", and early MAMAMOO, "Mr Ambiguous" and "Piano Man".

This is one of my favourite TVXQ songs. As you said, so different to the usual sound, it just stood out and grabbed your attention.
I would pair this with Mamamoo's Piano Man. Similar sound and 1930s-ish concept and styling.
