Absolutely true and what i practice. Once im aware ive dine wring i own it and seek forgivness from God. Then i do away with whatever the cause was that left me the effect of sin. I used to selfmedicate with pot. Its only substance which helped my ADHD. For 26 years i used and never noticed in my use i became complacent. In my complacency i put God on the back burner. When i realized this i put it down. Made a covienant with God and prepared myself. I asked God to settle my mind to help as i truly need it as this disorder wreaks havoc upon my life. I have never been so settled ever. My folks and friends have noticed a completr 180 out of me. I perform at work better then i ever have. Im more intune and unfortunately i still figet. I still struggle however i can handle it. Glory be to the most high as it is Him that aids me in ways none other could. I love you Jesus!

As an older person I don't see Christianity in people like I see it in SOME preachers, like this guy ... And the pastor in a church I use to go to. You're right it doesn't although the principle of turning from sins is biblical. Repent just means a change of mind. The common Christian understanding is repent means to turn from sin which is wrong. God repented in the bible so not sure what sins he had to repent of...
