  • On a cold, snowy day in January of 2006, a man was scouring for bottles in downtown Calgary dumpsters when he made a grisly discovery. That was the starting point of a police investigation that was a true whodunnit.
A trail of forensic evidence led police to uncover a deadly betrayal. Learn the web of deceit the criminal created to cover his tracks and the unsettling truth that devastated the victim’s family.

I’m disgusted. Chad was obviously no saint, but letting Dean free after only 8 years, EVEN though he admitted guilt and DESPITE the fact that he would not even allow Chad’s family the small mercy of burying his remains, and THEN letting him blatantly violate the rules of his conditional release even with his slap-on-the-wrist sentence with zero repercussions?????? A hideous miscarriage of justice. Canada’s legal system is absolutely broken.

Can you just imagine how the police, who put their hearts & souls into solving these horrific crimes feel? They work so hard to put hem away, then long before the cops retire, these same bad guys, are back out on the street, for them to have to deal w again!

I just cried when I heard the mom's plea for him to tell her what happened to her son and where the rest of his body was. My deepest condolences to Chad's mom and sister and father. This police officer Cliff O'Brian is a good man and great police work all together. But 8 years is not much but a little justice is better than no justice. RIP Chad.

The meds if they r on any., the phone service. Hair cuts, toilet supplies, ect ect. Then the administration costs and hiring quards and their wages, the vehicles to take them to the different court dates or whatever. Hmmmmmm the gas for these vehicles alone ( here in Canada the gas prices r very high) I wonder how much it is to keep them there a year. I bet a lot. While you and I r out breaking our asses to keep them there. All these appeals also bug my butt. I have no respect for anyone who dismembers someone or rapes someone or kills or rapes a child or the elderly. A person has to be very low to do crap like that.

Instead of creating a reason to stop and think twice! It looks like these criminals are hired and given immunity! This is genocide! At this point the patterns are clear and the lucrative business in true crime documentaries, there’s plenty of motivation! They rake in billions of dollars just talking about these crimes against humanity!!! There is no life in prison here! I lived in Canada for a few years with family, I have many fond memories, but the more I see of Canada's justice system (and historical stains) since being away, the more it shows a deep rooted indecency and desecration in it's system.

These types of cases can be dicey. It's important to finger the perp' or risk being caught out on a limb, the Achilles heel of said investigations.

I think i might have to unsubscribe. Not because I don't like this channel, i really like it but i just can't deal with the pathetic Canadian justice system. Almost every video the murderer either had a long rap sheet or they got paroled or they got a light sentence to begin with. It's disgusting. I:m not actually going to unsubscribe but man it's so heartbreaking and infuriating. My heart goes out to.the victims.

I do feel very sad for this family.
The idea that the investigation can be so extensive just for judges to give such little sentences, even to people who show no remorse for their crimes, is a REAL failure of the justice system.

This is the most stupid criminal ever!
The way he tries to get rid of evidence!
He rents a car and sets it on fire!
Yeah, that doesn't put the spot light on you!
Why not rather steal an old car an set that on fire.
In the woods somewhere, long, long into the woods! Where no one will find it.
    Like, WTF was he thinking?
If this is what happens to people on drugs, cautionary tale!

Why our justice system allows for lower charges and sentences without the disclosure of where the body or parts are is beyond me. It should be part of any deal or lower charges on the docket that disclosure of unknown things, ie a body location must be done.
