I have this. It's a great little conversation piece built around an old movie. It's something to do in a quiet environment that allows you to be nostalgic. Emotional hook. Thanks David.

Great review. I've been doing this the last month for table hoping opener. I have to say this kills. It's quick and to the point. It's light hearted and fun . Great for table hoping.

Love the idea of using Zoltar in a magic presentation. This just feels a bit throwaway. Kinda want more for this high price. Hope someone is inspired to release a great Zoltar-based trick in the future!

I have actually performed this a lot recently and it's great. Presentation is what makes this. My only downside is the colour matching of the cards isn't great (the white is different on the cards and the reds are slightly different) but having performed this it's not an issue. One thing I love is that box is printed with a shiny almost plastic finish making it a lot more durable than a standard tuck case.

I love this quick hit...got it when it 1st came out...of course, it is what it is...as you say, 1 hit wonder, but an amazing opener. As for Rough & Smooth....I was like you until recently. I learned you really need to modify the cards to get the "stickiness" level you want....personal favorite R&S is Repetition by by Nathan Kranzo...great follow up to Zoltar for a quick & fun hit...it also allows you to introduce your regular deck of cards. Happy holiday's everyone!

I loved this as it doesn't use R&S, I have a love/hate relationship with R&S as sometimes doesn't work. Zoltar is more mechanical and reliable.

I will post once I remember the name, but there is a new roughing substance. It is available in deodorant style sticks. The stuff is amazing if you plan making your own decks. Its newer to 2020 or 2021. It actually may be by Kranzo if I remember correctly.

I grew up visiting a Greek community in Fl. There was a huge collection of early arcade machines. I've never seen fortune machine like in big. It tied a bit of gaming by trying to have the coin go in his mouth while it was open.

Thanks for the review and the insights on what it is not (like R&S). I liked this when I first saw it, I'm kind of a "sucker" for cute custom deck tricks. Ii's on my "to buy list" now! Speaking of method, I'm guessing something like Ed Marlo's "Oddity deck." Even if so, I'm in! (For the cute presentational and custom card features!)

I don’t have the money to buy it so I made it 😅 with 2 different colour decks . It uses the same principle like the svengali deck

Unfortunately on mine there is a real difference in colour on the face of the cards between the Bicycle cards and the Zoltar cards that everyone saw when I do the routine...
