I have one T5, Multivan 2011 and i am very satisfied with that. I have traveled most of the European countries with that. Very comfortable to drive, never get tired and with its hi horsepower never says no to any speed or slop you drive. Have a plenty of space to putt your things and you can sleep by converting the soffa to bed and have a sweet sleep. I LOVE IT.

The “Bulli” is still the original 😉 The Rockton seems to be a very practical and work-oriented solution for hard work !!
For me the Panamericana is with a strong diesel and 4WD the perfect pick for adventures all over the world 🌍 :)
Clearance is the magical touch ... at rather have not 30mm but +++
also ROCKTON - fully armored ROCK SLIDES are missing -
I'd love to have a Rockton with a California top and cockpit + kitchen + Chairs ...

great review aj, top quality son, keep up the great work. $65k euros is alot for the panamericana i must concede. i cant help but think if this was fitted out with a camper / motorhome type set up, so you have go almost anywhere capability, it may be a more compelling case.

It would be very interesting if you do a test Drive of a family minivan,like Fiat doblo,Renault Kangoo,Ford tourneo and this kind of vehicles....i think that could be a very good alternative to mpvs in terms of capability,space,practicality and to use it like a family car.

Stop saying standard arrangement as you would expect or standard adjustments as you would expect. Cars are different, and features the functions are not the same on all cars. I am watching this program to learn about the vehicle, it’s beneficial features, and it’s limitations. Do the front sets rotate 360°? Does the vehicle have to be stationary to lock the rear differential. We need to see the leg room when the seats are moved forwards or backwards. We need to see a tape measure for sizes as cameras distort sizes and spaces. What you call small may be adequate. Do the seats have multiple locking positions? Is the seat heigh adjustment the entire seat or just the angle changed? What is the exact total height of the vehicle as our supermarkets often have a 2.1 metre or 2.3 metre entry limit to avoid roof damage from architectural overheads. Can winches be fitted to the front and rear? Is the Rockton available with windows in the rear panel? I believe the solid panel is a dangerous blind spot, and it is claustrophobic for rear passengers. You said a police van, I’d say a coffin carrier. What is the over-all length for parking and does it have parking aides like cameras. Again I need a size comparison with some standard cars. The old Combi vans were smaller than many cars in the 1950s. Size could be a problem in the city and a popular tourist spots where parking is hard to find and streets are narrow.

Great Review AJ. I love the old T5 (a LWB Hi-Top!), so I'm biased! Yes, if I remember rightly, a standard T5/T6 doesn't have much ground clearance for rutted tracks, so that extra 20 or 30 mm should be useful there. Interesting - and a shame - to hear that your T6 Multivan had a firm ride. Very pricey, but a great, and very versatile car; as a 'lifestyle vehicle' in many ways much more useful than a pickup truck that a lot of people seem to buy. Keep up the excellent work AJ. I got UK velle t6 se very little equipment as standard best family car but the fact I had to pay for optional parking sensors in such a big car is ridiculous!!!
I'm very sad VW won't produce T6 in Brazil, where the T1 and T2 were produced for a long long time.
I really want 1 of these rigs! What?....I can't get it here in the U.S.? (sad response) well...never mind then....

i m really trying to say this in a constructive manner and not in a trash talking way. this is a bit of a mislead review because you re reviewing products that are not on the same requirements that you re used to, neither for the type of use you re thinking about it. this is a build quality for getting damaged and keep going mentality, neither is lacking like you said, neither the rattles are a concern. infact for this type of roughed equipment it really didn t seemed to rattled at all. how do you think those typical confortable and nice materials and electric buttons, for example, will do on constantly extremely humid environments? getting dust and all types of dirt constantly and never getting cleaned, huge temperature changes, having to use them with huge gloves etc
among other markets these aims also at services like border patrols, offroad campers (huge market, depending on perspective since its still far from the being the main market), mountain rescue services, even firefighters etc. these are markets that many times have to buy from expensive specialized modifying companies, and sometimes you re inbetween needing something more roughed/specific features, but the factory offer almost fits your needs. these fit that market that with a few changes on the factory offer will do and then you don t need to seek much more expensive specialized offers that many times even need to sacrifice good original characteristics for the required modifications

supersonic for the same price entry you get a Mercedes. It's not about being but about being smart.
This may be better than a Mercedes. Transporters are very well built and ultra durable.
You shouldn't look at the brand anyway, but goes even further with these vans. A Transporter, Iveco Daily and Mercedes Sprinter don't differ too much in terms of driving experience. It's really about the practical use and about what kind of leasing construction you can get with the relevant services.
Btw, if I would look at just the brand and label, for company use, the VW Transporter is a really strong name. Stronger that that of the Sprinter I'd say. Same with the Transit by Ford.

Van too small for camper van conversion. Suspension travels needs to be large to give high ground clearance. prefer Sprinter 4WD.
not really, it just depends on the size you re looking for, you re thinking about the vw crafter size van conversions. the transporter is more for those popular really small campers that i dislike but are extremely popular! (the original transporter was even the one to start those). but even so, there are seriously very interesting options for small but not so small camper vans like the ones from woelcke th-cam.com/video/NO0_NRWEq7w/w-d-xo.html , th-cam.com/video/HBDPRYjGZi4/w-d-xo.html , the very interesting wingamm th-cam.com/video/yZt5nN99C6k/w-d-xo.html and many others. this small segment has been gaining popularity, under the sprinter and vw crafter segment
