G’job Ethan, good thing you left your lights off to enjoy that sunset…lol. I know you were hoping for higher yield, these kinds of years is when you’re glad you run older, paid for machinery 👍🏻enjoying the vids young man, keep em comin🇺🇸
We had a lotta deer damage on a couple fields in the woods of WI, a 3 acre field yielded a grand total of 78 bushels of corn. Didn’t even need to unload the old 8800 till we got done
Hope you made it before the rain this evening. We finished corn on Friday and I wrapped up the chisel plowing this morning. Beans were average & corn real good well above average. Deer are terrible this year. Counted 25 of them brown rats Friday night in the field I was in.
We never had the big rain you did. Things in our part of Ohio varied from one neighborhood to another. Some were lucky enough to catch a good heavy shower and a couple miles away had little or nothing. The area around Maibachs seemed to get more regular showers than we did one county west of there. Despite lower yields, glad for what we got.
I'm in Central Kentucky helping a close family friend and the farm he's shelling on at the moment is running half of what it normally yields this year, just due to the year we've had and deer damage is a factor too.
My 2 high fields pulled 154 BPA on Saturday but 3 of the lower wet fields were all under 137 today. Bad frost last night too & I might have spit a few kernels out the back for the first little bit this morning. Beat last year all to hell so there's that.
I hate to tell you, and don't mean to be negative; but do you have any idea how many people want to farm? A ton of people will work a second job just so they can farm. Nobody farms, just so they can make a living otherwise.

Was wondering if you do corn on corn in the muck ground because beans don’t do well there or because of the fear of horrible harvest conditions if there was too much rain. I know that muck is a pretty scary bitch if you’re not careful about it.
Anymore with corn it seems like i have to throw everything at it NH3 in the fall then come back 1st pass sprayer with 20 units of 32% just makes the Herbicide Program work that much better and seems to get a better emergence and start . Next Year with the Short corn I'm trying i will be bumping up the population and going for 3 passes of nitrogen over top on top of the fall applied
The old girl definitely won’t be happy with you if you don’t check the oil before starting and somethings amiss…. Head gaskets go, liners crack etc while using…
If a gasket blows or a liner cracks you’re going to immediately know when it happens. It not just going to happen sitting over night. I know it doesn’t use oil. I know it doesn’t leak oil. So I check it every time I grease it which is every 10-15 acres. Take a number to file a complaint.
Ethan, Hope with your water damage deer damage hopefully you'll make enough to have some profit this year. I laugh at the comments about tiling the land 🤣🤣 thanks Michael
I'm not trying to ruffle feathers, but why do you hide the key? And your that forgetful that you climb up into the combine regularly without the key?? 😂
Why wouldn’t you hide the key? And why does it bother you that I hide the key? I will never understand why people on the internet feel the need to have every little thing explained to them.
Like I said, no disrespect. I enjoy the videos and the old iron. I run a 72' JD 6600 and leave the key in it. It doesn't worry me that someone might steal it. Who the hell would? Right? Lol! Much respect from a fellow old iron farmer!
MSU Extension row crop economist Will Maples covered the updated reference prices in the Farm Bill-based Price Loss Coverage program. The reference price for corn rose from $3.70 per bushel in 2023 to just over $4, and the price for soybeans rose from $8.40 to $9.26. Prices for wheat and cotton remained at $5.50 per bushel and 37 cents per pound, respective

The neighbor in his fancy combine.... you in your fixed up classic that does the same thing for way less buks. :)
He’s a lot faster.

If we hadn’t got that big 6 inch one things would have been a lot more consistent at least.

Strange weather was wide spread this year.
@@Oliver66FarmBoy oh yeah
I think overall the yield was pretty good. I would say that you everything right. Next year will be better.
We can only pray.
Not bad buddy be safe out there your buddy from Nebraska
Thanks.
I say you done a heck of a job considering the obstacles.

Every year is a new challenge.
My Grandpa had 68 bushel corn in a few fields last year. That was painful.
Looking good, that old girl is running great!
Thanks.
If farming was easy then there would be more people doing it 😂😂😂😂 God Bless Y'all and have a great week 🙏

Like and old neighbor said to me once "it's all mine bought and paid for".
How many acres do you harvest?
Now that you have the 270, build a tile plow and fix the muck field.
And where would one tile it to?
Just one of those years again Farm Boy
Unfortunately
Well, all in all so far, so good.....still not to shabby, considering it's a bad year.
The anderson's in reading and Albion are full
Holy crap I thought I was the only one that played the "headlight game" with the neighbors. Haha
It’s a real thing.
A farmer here in central Indiana ran a deer though their combine about 5 years ago. It was a pretty site buddy
That would make a mess.
No tracks on the combine this year
Yea?

All of the above.
Did your neighbor on the muck hill plant his ground? No idea if that would have done any good but that came to mind.
No
Last year you made tracks this year so far it’s dry
Good video good to see ya
How’s the new job going ethan
Decent.
Avg.139 bushels done a fair job
Nice video

We're going to finish up with harvest next week. We've got a 137 acres left buddy
That’s enough for this time of year.
Your having a rough year this year
Everybody is.

Sure hope you don't need swimfins
What?
@Oliver66FarmBoy well when you said much I just assumed it was going to be wet
Not too bad if you didn’t have to mount the tracks.
Yep

Hopefully I made a little bit. Don’t have all the checks in yet.
Well done Eathon 😊
? Does any one use Gas up for N
We fall knifed for years know all side dress 32
No. Not anymore
Neighbor was running a green head on a red machine,............don't see that often,..........although I did that back in the day...............

Have you ever heard about tile drainage?
Where are you going to tile it to. It’s a 3000 acre swamp…
Forget the audio on the cab shots, can't hear what you are saying !

Talk to owners maybe tile to get rid of water.
Where is it going to get tiled to?
