Took a look back at what happened a year ago, good explanation of the combine and how it works. Neat looking Oliver 7300, got a good batch of corn, looks like she's doing great. Thanks Ross, enjoyed the video, I hope you have a great day. See ya on your next new installment!
Ross you got to get the other combines ready to run, Me and Craig will come over and run them with you in the field all at once ! We could have a corn shelling party ! The old girl is doing a great job right off the bat after sitting so long, Got to love the old girls ! Bandit
Hay a guy has to have a little fun every now and then ! LOL Maybe Ross will set up a field day for this and some people could stop by to watch ? Who knows ? Bandit
I gotta say finally getting that machine into the field is almost as satisfying as getting the wife of 48 years into bed to do something besides sleep, it took about the same amount of time to make it happen too😂😂😂
My father had a 7300 White with 4 row narrow corn head, I believe 13' grain head for soybeans and winter wheat. Chrysler V8 gasoline that he loved the sound of. I think the better engine however for him was the Perkins diesel that was in his Oliver 1850 and later on, his White 8700! ....one of the reasons he bought the 8700. Keep em' coming Ross. God bless.
Ross, love the outcome! Just a concern from a fellow pet owner, maybe you need to put Buddy in the cab when going down the road, he likely is going to get run over eventually. And we and you love him too much for that to happen. My late pup got bad at the following along like that, we got in the habit of putting her in the cab of whatever we were driving. Got along great! She passed at the ripe age of 15 from heart failure. About the combine, a neighbor here had a pair of red 7300s , used one for parts. He quit farming and sold things off, still has the parts machine. I wanted to buy it for the collection. But the motor is locked up and he had pretty much stripped it out, so passed on it. Wouldn't mind finding one like you did and use on the back farm where the 1660 don't hardly fit down there because of the creek crossing. The old bridge is too light and narrow for anything bigger than the old little machines. Just thought of something to add about pets. We had a scrappy old barn cat that got in the habit of prowling the fields for game. He disappeared for a couple of weeks. We thought that the big red tail hawks had got him! Cutting beans in the back 40, in the middle of the field, I spotted him wondering down the row! Guess he got lost out there and couldn't find his way home. He sure was happy to see me, he rode in the cab with me the rest of the day.
It lives. I’m glad you got it going and it works. I have really enjoyed the combine series. Hopefully you can make a few more improvements and use it again next year. Keep the videos coming.
She did a great job especially since it didn't run when you got it. You definitely made her more gooder with just the little bit you did to get her shelling again.
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it. Reminds me of my 5555 right down to the sticky clutch. I have a shed full of Oliver and white combines. No 7300 though. I do use most of them every year. A ton of maintenance and cleaning involved. That's only the 2nd 3 row 700 series head I've seen. There was 703N for sale in northern, MN few years back.
Hey Ross glad to see you got the Old girl up and going, shelling corn once again. It did a nice job for the corn ran thru it. Thankyou also for taking the time to expalin how the cylinder type combine actually works. I have a way better understanding of it now. You were explainning how the cylinder should just rub the corn off the ear and not break it. Is there an adjustment for that? I assume there has to be. Thanks Again...
I loved to see the old 7300 in the field again. I truly do love the old combines, and probably always will I figure lol. Hoping if you're up to it and time's on your side maybe we might get to see the 545 in the field next year. Fingers crossed lol. I don't know why, but I love that 5X5 series of combines. Especially the 525s.
Fantastic video Ross. You have impressed me again on getting the old Olivers going. The combine did a great job after sitting for ten years. That was a great sample of corn. You did a great job getting the ole Oliver going. Thank you for sharing.
I really enjoyed watching this series of restoration on the 7300. Ok, there is still things that need addressed. Overall you did a great job and it works!!!! As you said, all but the birds nest, that was really clean. It was exciting to see it back in the field. You might want to consider a battery and check the charging system, lol. Thanks for your time and effort. I thought it was cool that you went through and explained how it all worked for those who have not been around machines like this. I did see a feature that our case and Gleaner didn't have. The trap door on top looked real handy to gain access. That's not a fun job to have to clean out. See you soon.
great machine i still have and use every year the one my father got brand new go for small farmer like me i have never used for corn i do ots and wheat for feed i still pick all the corn other then a belt once a year good small farm combine
This is exciting I’ve been impatiently anticipating it running in the field. Awesome job there buddy, there ain’t nothing Ross The Oliver Man can’t do lol
Alternator belt is loose... I saw it.... I wanted to tell you ross.... it ran good wow.. it lives...... Id come up and drive one for you Ross... I miss combining corn... had a nice IH machine a 915 deisel corn soybean special great machine...
Glad it all worked out with little sadness. There’s an Oliver combine on auction here in the thumb for$15 right now. I don’t know the model but the engine sits behind the left front wheel and it looks a mile long. There’s also an Oliver model 100 auto tie baler at $20 that doesn’t look terrible, kinda wish I had a place to store it.
Hemi powered combine! That brings back a vivid memory of a local farmer that did just that on an early 55 Deere. The old Herculese motor gave up the ghost, and he found an early 50s Hemi and rigged it up. Ran it for years.
I have learned to never doubt your abilities! I knew you would get this combine working just fine. Glad you saved it from the scrap yard because it still has a lot of life left in it. Great job Ross! Waiting for your next project.
Buddy first place , Oliver 7300 second place! Ross's red walker combine! A lot of yrs ago dad made this comment , son the threshing machines used cylinder and concave just like the 95.
🤣🤣🤣 I always thought about making a hot rod if one of these combines, taking a later hydrostatic axle and putting four-wheel-drive on it. Maybe someday…
I'm really surprised they used the 318 engine in there and not like a 440 or something like that with a 4-barrel that's a lot of machine to turn water machine a lot of parts
I know, it was tempting to just keep going, but I knew we needed ear corn to play with the sheller on the 352 so I had to restrain myself. You know me, I just can’t help sticking things in my mouth. I chew tested it still on the cob.
Dude you have my luck oh my gosh t h a t is unbelievable because that would be exactly what happens to me I told you from day one a brother from a different mother

By golly, there's the Bandit! Was wondering what became of you! That corn shelling idea sounds good, not too far away from here either!
That be great video
Great video as usual Ross!
Hay a guy has to have a little fun every now and then ! LOL Maybe Ross will set up a field day for this and some people could stop by to watch ? Who knows ? Bandit
Glad to see this old girl running again. Enjoy watching old equipment still running.
Thanks!!
It's a beautiful thing watching old iron come alive is it good to have people like you and me that are still these old ones
Well done Ross getting the old girl back into the field and operational a super successful trial
Thanks Stephen!
Glad to see it in operation! Not gonna lie I busted out laughing when it died right in the field haha! I think it has earned a spot in the shed.
🤣🤣🤣
Loit

Glad to ee the old girl in the field again. hat a good feeling.
Thanks! It sure is!
No burnt bearings or smoked belts so I would say this was a success for the first time out... good job Ross.
Thanks Don!
Good seeing you getting the cheapest machine going
Thanks Randy!
Ross, nice job 👏👍 thanks Michael
Thanks Michael!
Thanks for the rescue of the 7300! Enjoyed the journey! Remembering when that was a big machine!
Thanks John! It’s hard to believe that this was a big horse at one time when you park next to a modern machine.
👨🔧👍👍well done Ross
Thanks Tom!
🎉 congrats on getting it into the field!
Thanks!!!
Proud of you, you got it going and I must say it looks like she is doing well.👍👍👍✌🏻🙏🏽🇺🇸
Thanks!!
Love the combine videos, more please
Thanks Keith !
Great video! Congratulations on 7k subs your channel is growing!
Thanks so much Tim!
Love watching old machines work
Thanks!

Hey, it works! Way to go, Ross. Good job!
Thanks Charlie!
It lives. I’m glad you got it going and it works. I have really enjoyed the combine series. Hopefully you can make a few more improvements and use it again next year. Keep the videos coming.
Lots of memories there watching you , wish you was closer ,I bet we have some useful parts . From turkey creek farms be safe n thankful
Thanks Earl!
Glad you were able to use it. You did a great job getting it usable!
Thanks!
I li,key ore patients and videos Pete from Wisconsin god bless
I knew it would work, never a doubt in my mind.
Thanks Michael!
Hard to believe a 3 or 4 row machine was "big stuff" at one time. Thanks for the video Ross!
I know, it seems like a toy compared to the modern stuff. Thanks Dan!!
at last a really good video just need more of them combine videos and you can harvest when its ready not waiting for some one else
Thanks Peter!
Nice work, Ross. Good to see that combine in operation.
Thanks Craig!
I'm sorry but I laughed really hard when you killed it out in the field. I thought I was the only one with that kind of luck. Your the man.
🤣🤣🤣 I figured there would be some sadness!
Nice work keeping this ole girl in the field and earning her keep. Love it.👍🏻
Thanks Cory!
That was great seeing that old combine going
Thanks John!
Good to see the combine picking,I seen your videos when you first bought the unit at auction and worked to get it started and then home, great job
Thanks Doug!
That chrome tip is sweet
It doesn’t look too bad. Thanks!
It would be nice to see a sponsor step up for a field ready restoration.
I never turn down someone sending me free stuff 🤣
Love your videos! We oliver guys sure have an expensive hobby sometimes!
She did a great job especially since it didn't run when you got it. You definitely made her more gooder with just the little bit you did to get her shelling again.
I’m impressed Ross, way to go. What a clean sample. They are great machines. Love your videos.
Thanks Allan!
Need to get this bad boy to the next half century of progress!!
I don’t really like hauling equipment. It’s a shame that show’s not closer 😭
@@rosstheoliverman yeah I feel the same way. Especially a combine. You’d probably need a drop deck to get it there wouldn’t you?
What a sweet heart. She even gives a super clean grain sample. A lot of these big news ones don't give that clean of a sample.
I know, I was surprised at how well it did considering I did no adjusting on it at all.
As a person who loves the older stuff thanks for saving this one 1⃣
Thanks Jason!
Glad to see you got it woking. I love the older combines from the 60s & 70s era.
Thanks Chad!
Excellent!
Thanks!
A fine use of the Force, young Straw-walker. 🌽🌽🌽
🤣🤣🤣 Thanks Jack!

Ross great work on the videos I would put that 7300 up to Oliver boy's 8900 any day I bet it would keep up with it and do a great job
Thanks Jasper!
Now you have some corn to run thru your grinder. Sure was great to see the 7300 working but it needs a 4 row head to really make it work.
Thanks for all the aggravation I've been exactly where you were loved them old Oliver combines thanks for all the
Thanks Tom !
Pretty cool
Thanks Jeff !

Can't believe it still works
I was impressed how well it did the first time out.
That old combine is walking thru the corn, you done good Ross.
Thanks Tom!
great machine i still have and use every year the one my father got brand new go for small farmer like me i have never used for corn i do ots and wheat for feed i still pick all the corn other then a belt once a year good small farm combine
Awesome!
That's a big step up from the 2 row pull type sheller I used for years (New Idea). Thanks for saving a piece of Oliver history, Ross! Good job.
Thanks!
Reminds me of the days working with my grand dad and his open station 545.
Oh boy, open station! Those old Fellers were tough. I have enough trouble with the dust inside the cab 🤣 thanks Dan!
Nice job. Thanks for the explanation of how the combine works.
Thanks Curt!
Priceless
Thanks!!
Very, very cool.
Thank you!
great video
This one was a two thumbs up video Ross, thanks for taking the time to do this and keep us all entertained. You're videos are top notch.
Thank you!
This is exciting I’ve been impatiently anticipating it running in the field. Awesome job there buddy, there ain’t nothing Ross The Oliver Man can’t do lol
With enough barley pops and animal sounds anything is possible 🤣
Nice video Mr Ross👍👍👍
Thanks!!
Alternator belt is loose... I saw it.... I wanted to tell you ross.... it ran good wow.. it lives...... Id come up and drive one for you Ross... I miss combining corn... had a nice IH machine a 915 deisel corn soybean special great machine...

And when it first started combining your corn the first 10 ft it was all worth it no matter from here on out it was all worth it

I saw that Baler! I really would love to buy it but I don’t know how I can get it here.
Awesome job Ross, I knew it be good one after your work on her
Thanks!
Hemi powered Oliver . So nice to see it screaming down Nice explanation of how the othe driveway. Overall job well done

Yay! Glad you put her back to work! Can you do a side-by-side vid on your combines and pickers like you did with your tractors?
lol buddy 😂that dog
🤣🤣🤣 He’s the real star of the show!
All on all that's a nice d machine. Would like to find a 3 row narrow head for our 7300. Good job!!
Thanks!
Nice video Ross. Lots of work and money to keep the old machine going.
Thanks Larry!
I have learned to never doubt your abilities! I knew you would get this combine working just fine. Glad you saved it from the scrap yard because it still has a lot of life left in it. Great job Ross! Waiting for your next project.
Thank you Gary !
does this remind you of the days when was a litttle younger
Buddy first place , Oliver 7300 second place! Ross's red walker combine! A lot of yrs ago dad made this comment , son the threshing machines used cylinder and concave just like the 95.
This makes me want to buy a combine
They’re definitely fun to play with and can be bought very reasonably.
Awesome!
Thanks!
The old machines are the best in my opinion, easier to repair.the newer ones are crazy over complicated
This one definitely is easy to repair! Thanks Mike!
So now should be a 6.4 hemi, Cragars in the back, and spin outs in the front with a patina finish. 😊😊
🤣🤣🤣 I always thought about making a hot rod if one of these combines, taking a later hydrostatic axle and putting four-wheel-drive on it. Maybe someday…
Awesome!!!
Thanks!
Success congratulations
Thanks Brian!
thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Hey dude,,loved the cab cam. Way better than cab corn!!
🤣🤣🤣
see it was worth it
Yes! Just had to be patient 🤣
Nice
Thanks!
Excellent video again look at you go
Thanks Terry!
I'm really surprised they used the 318 engine in there and not like a 440 or something like that with a 4-barrel that's a lot of machine to turn water machine a lot of parts
That went well enough I would have had a hard time not running the rest. By the way, did you chew test the corn before you shelled?
I know, it was tempting to just keep going, but I knew we needed ear corn to play with the sheller on the 352 so I had to restrain myself. You know me, I just can’t help sticking things in my mouth. I chew tested it still on the cob.
@@rosstheoliverman 😂😂😂
How much yield gain would you realize if you switched to 30” rows?
Hard to say, I’d have to cut the population down because it’s up higher when you’re on wider rows.
I plugged a unload auger on a john deere 8820 it was a bad day
It’s no fun 😭
Dude you have my luck oh my gosh t h a t is unbelievable because that would be exactly what happens to me I told you from day one a brother from a different mother
I love it, is that thing charging
I don’t think it is. But I’ve had that trouble with the other ones also. That Chrysler charging system is something else.
@@rosstheoliverman yes it is, I have a 77 power wagon replaced 4 regulators now, only last a year or 2
cool "nonsense" video
Thanks Marty!
How are parts availability on these as far as threshing parts?
Not too bad because this is essentially the same as a 535 so there’s a ton of them out there.
