Napoleon useally attacked but when he was losing he would pull back and make it a defencive battle

No he did not. He let himself to be outflanked on both sides which js not good and he have chances where he could just push the front and end the miserable defences with ease while forcing the Russian to defend the border since Russians is pressing on Prussians.

Only in Western front.
Being aggressive is to lose your advantage and lose more units, but what the point of playing games if you intend to just stay back and do nothing?

@@unknowguy9642 Mountain is an exception. It was a natural trench and barrier. Normally it would result in skirmishes since it was really hsrd to maintain logistic there and not complete full assault stalemate.

Used to watch Prince of Macedon years ago, clicked this and thought how cool it is that Apollo and Prince play together.

The problem with a sequel would be they would most likely use the current engine which is awful for ranged combat. From units not refusing to fire even if they have line of sight to projectiles with limp sounds and looking like they have being thrown underarm.

It's strange that infantry will shoot at hills as artillery seems to be able to target different units when hills are in the way.
Also Napoleonic war stories with Apollo as a spin off series?

Once firearms and artillery are a factor, defense is king, especially in the case of weaker/more inexperienced commanders. Even a poor player can do well if the other side is mindlessly rushing their units into enemy fire. I think that's why many players are too defensive in N:TW.

Wellington's troops formed around 20 big cavalry squares at Waterloo, I am absolutely SURE that there were a lot of friendly fire casualties (actually on both sides) when Ney's Cavalry attacked!!!

@@mrvulture8981 yes after a battle at Schleswig-Holstein that the danish won we didnt upgrade our military so a hundred years later the germans attack with a bygger, better and badder army

They could've won if the French set up some defenses on the Spanish and Britsh sides, then charged you with The Old Guard with two Fussiliers and a cav unit. Them using a similar tactics they used near the end
