You dont need the treasure gauge. Oatchi can sniff out treasure. And yes all pikmin can dig. Yellow are best.
Literally every other treasure appears on the map except for the potato. “Child of the Earth” , more like middle finger of the earth.

I swear that damn Potato was put there for this *exact* purpose, to screw with vets expecting the need for White Pikmin to dig up things that are buried.
I'm a veteran, and I didn't even think to look for the last item until I reached the end of the day and it locked me out of playing. I thought had everything, and I hadn't unlocked the radar yet.
The first time I was 100% the demo, I felt so much stress finding the last treasure, then I found it accidentally by disbanding near it
The potato wasn’t really an issue for me. I had gotten all the above ground treasure and 100% all the caves, si when I saw 99% I just used oachi.

There were so many times when watching this where I just thought "Hey, why not read the tutorial when it's trying to tell you stuff" but honestly, watching you suffer was fun.

It still amazes me they made a character creator where you make your own captain, but at the same time make the most stylish captain the series has seen to date, i mean, something you clearly showed well

White pikmin are confirmed for the game, you can also get the treasure radar thing too in pikmin 4. Maybe they’re just hiding it for the next area?

you dont have to get a certain day to learn swimming you just have to get the drowning oatchi cutscene and then the next day shepard will say they gave oatchi a bath and now he can swim i did this on my first day when speeding through demo on a 100% run

I also managed to get 100% on the demo. Tbh it was easy for me since I brought every treasure close to my base.

dang, I didn't know you could learn swimming in the demo. I got my 100% in 5 days so it never came up
Yeah, I guess it activates on Day 6, so when the game comes out you'll probably be able to swim

i finished the game in 3 days, including the tutorial day so i never saw most of these things
I manage to get 100% on 4 days, I manage to get the perfect path for 100%, you can't get Oatchie into bigger size to jump after day 3, so I needed to plan on collecting enough treasure(Not too much in the surface) to achieve everything to perfection by the 3rd attempt by putting the near the base point so I can collect than rush for the cave sublevel while only the time go 1/6 on the cavern is passing out on the surface time
Everyone keep’s questioning why they can’t jump a simple ledge, but nobody questions how they can jump into a cave entrance
Oof the buried treasure… it almost got me too during my 100% attempt, thank goodness for Oatchi’s nose 😮💨 I spent 5 in-game days setting my run up. But I got a decent head start for when the full game comes out. Part of me wants to try again to shave off a day or two because I wanna try and beat Pikmin 4 in the limit of 30 days like the first game as a sort of personal challenge

@@PugPilotG definitely! Thanks to Nintendo releasing the rest of the series on switch I decided to play them all in anticipation for 4. I beat 1 in 18 days, 2 in 25 days, and barely scraped by 3 Deluxe on day 30. Hopefully I can pull it off in 4 but part of me is hoping the game is so big that I’ll have to go over by a good few days hehe

On one hand, I thought the 1% I was missing as well was because of not having walked through every corner of the map so it would look complete, so this seems like a more reasonable explanation

I thought the exact same thing and was walking around everywhere but I cut all that out of the video
Something tells me that one percent is locked behind the full game. Like, say, something hidden that only becomes available after you reach a certain point in the main story sort of deal. Frankly i'm all in. Was smart in finding all the treasures But not picking them up Two avoid getting one thousand and five hundred Too soon since they will kick you out of the demo the moment the day ends if you pass that threshold. I was able to pretty much get everything By leaving all the treasures for last.
I am curious on if anything respawns though?
I think if I remember straight enemies back in 3 respawn after 2-3 days. So I'm wondering if the same applies in 4. Only really took 7 days and nothing respond so I'm wondering if anyone found out
@@paulman34340 its a potato in near the mountain like location (fully hidden) you would either need oatchi or the treasure gauge as the potato is not on the map. Long story short, its a hidden potato that got everybody, including me, but I asked oatchi to sniff it out about 2 mins before sundown so I got lucky.
@jackyodish8 Oh, so that was it well? Guess I gotta go back to the area i'm currently playing the game right now After getting an hour ago in the mail. Currently doing The second area and just disgovernment dave made certain that you will not miss any of the onions if you miss them in the first area. But if you got one of the onions i'm referring to the colored ones. Then if you find extra one it will count as twenty pikmin of that color. Also "be wary of Nectar" (GODDAMN NINTENDO CREATED MORE MIMIC ENEMIES LOL)
I played the demo completing everything exept tge blue onion. I thought it was impossible. I then found out you could get it, and I made a new save. Basically did everything I did before. Same upgrades, more pikmin, same amount of time, but this time with 100% completion.
How can you get the blue onion?
Also on the video there was a cave i didnt explore (i only explored 3) so where was it? There's the tutorial, the treadmill where you discover the yellow pikmin, and the hot firey one, so where was the cave where he built a wall?? At 7:00 and the yellow onion at 13:40?

Yellow Onion: Behind a paper bag in between the dandori battle and pink leafling (near landing site 3)
Blue onion: It is across the lake by the second landing spot. You need oatchi to be able to carry 10, and you need 40 max pikmin, 30 ice, and 10 others (preferably red).
1: Freeze water with ice pikmin
2: Build climbing wall with other 10 pikmin
3: Climb wall and kill fiery blowhog
4: Switch to oatchi (Hold Y, Switch)
5: Call Ice pikmin out of water and throw them up to higher ledge (at least 10 up there)
6: Switch back to captain, call ice pikmin, and bring blue onion down to oatchi.
7: Call ice pikmin off and throw them back in water
8: Use remaining 10 pikmin + Oatchi to carry back.
Remaining caves: From the magma floor cave, turn to where the blue wood wall is, and go behind it. There is a bridge that you can build. Don't get tricked, as there is a hidden potato if turn right after crossing the bridge. Turn left after crossing bridge to get to climbing wall cave. This will lead to landing site 4.

I just spent a good 5 hours on a 2nd attempt to 100% and I didn’t realize I needed 10 strength on oatchi, also I missed a rescue before last day so I could’ve done it otherwise. I had 1450 from surface + the gold things in the cave and potato put me at 1500! So I had to rush the caves and missed the blue Pikmin :(
I love how every time the word pikmin shows up he just has to sing it
I hope there is a captain that lets you change the whistle sound, not that the sound is bad but think of having the option of the normal whistle and a car horn like pikmin 2.

Ooooh boy, craziness insues. Honestly though, the biggest time I felt like an idiot was actually trying to speedrun the Deluxe True Arena in Kirby’s Return to Dreamland DX, which let me just say is a NIGHTMARE, it’s even worse than just going through it normally! You have to know the bosses attacks inside out, and take some very questionable strategies to beat them quickly, which is NOT easy to perform, and that’s coming from a guy that has speed-ran this game since I got the game.

it seems like the rescue corps entire colour scheeme is dependant on which colour you chose for your suit, thats pretty neat

I was hit by the Potato on my first Demo Playthrough as well.
Then I thankfully got it on my second time.
To summon the candy pop bud you need to have no red Pikmin in the aqua and or crackle caves

my favorites have always been yellow,white and pink and now the glow pikmin can be added to my favorite list,don't worry I still love all the pikmin colors,I've just over the years these have been my main favorite and all of the other colors are my secondary favorite

The headcanon theory of sparklium is that it's actually radiation, the same radiation that killed the humans. So the ship sucks the radiation out of objects and uses it as nuclear energy. 🤓
To answer your question bro that is olimar I read one of the files he made his dog's name was Moss and when I defeated it in battle he did shout the word Moss no so it's 100% him

This is mainly a me thing, but...
I like using Brittany's character design and creating a Jr version of her, so she can pass the torch to the main heroine, who's name was Sunny.
Pink hair, Brittany's face/ or Alph's face, pink spacesuit, makes sense since I'm making Brittany's twin older/younger sister.
Oatchi was nicknamed Oatchi-chan/Poochy-chan due to the similar names that they have.
Day 1: I created my main character, landed on a Planet, saved both Collin and Shepherd, and we get a Red Onion that Oatchi-chan/ Poochy-chan brought back, and we discovered Sparklium, the same form of Sparklium in Hey! Pikmin, and we got the ship fixed and working.
Day 2: Sunny and Oatchi collected some raw material, bashed through the dirt wall since Oatchi became useful, and discovered the Last-Frost Cavern where she found Ice Pikmin, and also collected some Flarlic to add more Pikmin. She managed to rescue the team scientist, Russ. Working on the areas, she found various treasures, and opened up a shortcut. Collecting treasures and some Dandori later, she found the cave named Crackling Cauldron. Collecting the treasures and defeating enemies and rescuing a civilian, she missed one treasure and went back in. After a mercifully short trip back, she searched for the Yellow Onion with bringing back extra treasure, successfully bringing both back to the base. We almost had a close call with a treasure, but thank god they brought it back quickly enough. (Note: This is the time I drowned Oatchi/Oatchi-chan/ Poochy Oatch to get the ability to swim earlier so I can get the Doggy-Paddle early.)
Day results: Today was quite a productive day. She acquired many treasures, and she is close to 1500 Sparklium. She managed to rescue the team scientist, Russ. She also rescued a civilian. Olimar's Voyage Log must have been received by other intrepid adventurers. Now, locating and rescuing other castaways has been added to our objectives list. Tomorrow, Russ will see what he can do with all the raw material she's collected.
Day 3: Russ has figured out a way to make exceptional use of the raw material we have collected. They can be used to build bridges and climbing walls. They can also be used to make tools and suit upgrades. These will undoubtedly be useful. In fact, they can help her explore the rest of the Terrace. She grabbed the Charging Horn, Treasure Gauge, and The Survey Drone, and rescued the remaining civillians from the caverns and Dandori Day Care and the Dandori Battle. She barely was able to get the Blue Onion in time and got a new Pikmin! The Blue Pikmin!
Day 4: Both Hawlo and Sunny made another Pikmin-related discovery. It seems that only 3 types of Pikmin can be out in the field at any given time. That's unfortunate! She'll have to be strategic when planning her expeditions from now on. Resuming on her mission... (This is where I've unlocked Oatchi's ability to swim in Water), she collected every single treasure in caverns, outside, including hidden ones with the help of Oatchi and her Pikmin. And with that, I've completed the demo! It was really fun to get a headstart for the first time, even though I had to sacrifice a day earlier to ignore the treasures, and plus, the treasure gauge helped a lot.

@@BananaFaceDude56Admittedly, Sunny did the exclusive stuff. She had to ignore the treasures (except for the Puzzle Piece) to get 67% on the demo version. Plus, she redeemed the Gold Medal on a Dandori Battle and came out with a Platinum Medal. And collected Raw Material for items.
30% of day 2: Just normal stuff. Made a booboo with accidentally drowning Oatchi.
The rest of Day 3: Went normal with saving the Castaways.
Day 4: Probably Sunny's best moment. Complete Area 1, Raw Material Grind for the items.

Unfortunately this game is now full automation zero challenge auto lock on less than 20 Pikmin to kill a bulborband oatchi OP 3 hours into game my beloved Pikmin series has been diminished into a mobile game for kids
😢my strat was to get the scientist first, then collect all overworld treasures except for the pumpkin. then doo all the caves in one day and get the pumkin last. and spend the rest of the day bashing the blue onion with oatchi rush
