So this is the worst thing the writers have ever done and that alone says something after all the crap they pulled the last seasons.
They ruined 16 seaons of Alex' character development and 8 seasons of Jo and Alex relationship in one episode and although Justin is leaving the show unexpectedly, there could have been a million better ways to let him go.
Jo has become my favorite character and after what she went through in the last season I can't believe they make her worst nightmare come true.
Alex would never leave Jo like that, not when their whole relationship was based on their trust that they wouldn't leave each other after their troubled childhood and past relationships let alone the fact that she just finished the treatment for her depressive episode.
I am done watching the show, but I am curious to see how they will deal with Camillas pregnancy. I don't even know if I want to have Jo turn out to be pregnant or not...

Very unrealistic of Alex. He would never leave Jo or Meredith, he deserved better.
i know they totally cheated his character! alex would never leave jo right when she became stable and he would never break his and meredith’s deal. they helped each other through everything and alex still wouldn’t leave even if he had kids with izzie. he had a new life with jo. it pains me to say this but i would’ve been happier if they killed him😪🥺
Everything Sucks I say the exact same thing! I would of much rather him had died some how than what he was dealt with... The old Alex hell yeah he would have left like that but not the Alex today. He grew sooo much! The Alex today would not have left his wife with a LETTER and for someone who hurt him so bad and just left him without a reason just dropped him...
And that’s on periodt.
You don’t think that finding out he and Izzy had kids would have changed things for him. I think finding out he was a dad was a good way to do it. Kids usually change everything.

He doesn’t want that for his kids, he wants his kids to grow up with both parents, yes, he could have left in person instead of on a letter, but like Meredith said, “There’s never a good way to say goodbye.”
This is by far THE WORST greys story line ever.

No, lol Izzie didn’t “kidnap him”. Alex wanted to be there for his children, yeah he left Jo. that’s sad, but Izzie didn’t tell him to come back. He found out about the kids and left his life behind to start another with his family

No no no, I know many people dislike Izzy but I know she didn’t do that, Alex also wrote other letters and explained to Meredith that he would choose Jo over Izzy if it was just about them but he knows how it feels to not have his parents not all there, so does Jo and he didn’t want that for his own children. Plus sure, Izzys smart enough to work at Grey Sloan but I don’t think she has the brain capacity to get away with murder and stage letters to a lot of his friends/family

Alex would never do that to Jo. I believe that he fully moved on from Izzy when he married Jo. I think he will always have a special place in his heart for Izzy, but there's no way he leaves her. Not like this. Not after everything he and Jo went through together. It's ridiculous and there has to be more to the story. I haven't been this heartbroken since Derek was killed. I refuse to accept that this is how Jo and Alex split.

Idk after 10 years he still wanted to check on her , I think izzie was the first person to see Alex for who he was after years of abandonment and being hated she was the one that changed him. No one could fill the place izzie left in his heart after 10 years he never stopped questioning how she was

These two desvere better. He's hoping that Alex comes back and realizes that he made a huge mistake in leaving Jo for Izzie. They were my favorite Grey's couple, and the one couple that I thought would make it. They had already been through so much together. It dosn't make sense as to why Alex would just abandon her. They should have made him go work with Arizona and then him and Jo could do long distance
MsFriendsfan4ever Krista (the writer) would’ve killed him off but she left a spot open for him if he wanted to come back. so hopefully he will come back and they were the real endgame tho and the day alex left i cried for ab 1hr and a half straight up balling

Yes. Alex loved Izzie once upon a time but I never believed they were soulmates. I always thought Jo and Alex were soulmates. Their story and their development will always prove that to me. I know this is what they had to do because of Justin Chambers leaving the show but to me, Alex and Jo will always be superior to Alex and Izzie.

This is so heartbreaking. Him falling for Izzie again,i can buy that. Realising he wants family with her, i can buy that too. He did always have feelings for her and they never quite went away, no matter how much he loved Jo. But leaving her over a letter, just like that, no, that i can't buy. He would never hurt her like that. That is not who Alex is. He would come and face her, no matter what.

I hate when characters die but because of the backstage drama he will probably never come back. So killing him off would have been better than a crappy solution like going back to his ex wife who he will never (have) loved as much as jo.
FYI: the backstage drama was Alex wanted a higher pay (he wanted producers pay) and shonda said no. They fought about it until he said I’m leaving because I’m not getting payed. And you can tell shonda did an f you.
Something just seems wrong about this. Yeah Alex and Izzie had an epic romance, but he and Jo had something special too. He saved her but she saved him too and he didn’t even realize it. They married each other, they built a relationship and life together. He can’t just leave her like this. I can’t ship Alex and Izzie anymore after this couple. Izzie left Alex. And now Alex left Izzie 💔
Absolutely incredible video. I know this probably wasn't your intention, but this video just confirmed to me how completely out of character this was for Alex and how much he and Jo were meant to end up together. This show needs to end already. Meanwhile, I'll be pretending this didn't happen because the Alex Karev we know would NEVER do this Jo.

He didn’t have this type of love with izzie it makes no sense. They made such amazing couple. Izzie complained and didn’t help Alex grow. Jo and especially Meredith helped shape Alex into the great man he was and bam it’s all gone. No freaking way.

i love alex and all but he always talks about leaving his family like his dad did and i know he left to go to his family with izzie, but izzie only had them because she couldn’t before when she had cancer and never informed Alex until like 6 years later. jo didn’t deserve anything that happened. I LOVE ALEX BUT HE DID HER WRONG.
Parris Horne no Alex said in his letter to Meredith that Izzie told him she was having the kids and he said it was okay.
I'm not even a Grey's fan but my sister cousin are and they explained the Jo/Alex/Izzie situation to me and I am MAD. I can imagine how it would feel to be invested in a show and get done this dirty

So in an earlier episode where jo confronts Alex about the embryos made with Izzy during her cancer treatments, was how they intended them to end? After all the pushing from Alex to get married, deluca drama, years and years of this relationship, to end it this way!? Alex has had the most character development over any other Greys character. To end him this way is a disservice to the actor who portrayed him and to all the loyal fans this show has had. Disrespectful, despicable and just down right wrong.

As heartbroken as I am about this, I don't thing Grey's needs to end right away. (Soon though). It still has some magic left and ending it soon means less time for the older actors to consider coming back. AMAZING EDIT btw.

This feels to me like the end of gone girl, where Nick Dunn stays with his psycotic girlfriend just so that he can raise his child. I refuse to believe that he loves izzie who left him but he told jo what she needed to hear so she moves on.

Okay if you really think about it, Izzie’s kids can’t be his kids. If each season counts as a year that mean that with also adding the year the Mer was in Boston and when she was attacked, it would be roughly 8-12 years, right. So if the kids are 5 years old, and even if they are going to be six that same year, that’s still one more year left if we are looking at the 8 year time frame. So either Izzie used his, “i don’t know what it’s called” after their divorce so then she could pressure Alex or they are not his kids. Basically I REFUSE to believe that he would just leave Jo!

My theory is that Alex died in a car crash and on his death bed he told the doctors that he wanted them to write letters telling his friends and family that he went back to his ex-wife because he didn't want them to know that he had died
