Sam Stone I agree. Personally, I think Helberg should be on a show that allows him to fully show off his talents. He's stuck in a rut on TBBT now that his character's married to Bernadette. He was a lot funnier in the early seasons as an irrepressible horndog. These days, the only time he gets to cut loose is when he's playing dungeon master during a D&D scene on the show.
Abhi U you read my mind, the early seasons were better.it's still a great show but i don't care to much for bernadette. even( sadly though) amy.she was amazing in season 4 and 5 but what happened?she changed so much. i love the show but thank god i have my full maried...with children collection, just saying. ;-) grtz.
Anybody noticed how the explanation for Sheldon's seat is different before and after Leonard moved in? He became a lot more sociable, leaving the couch at an angle that was good for TV and didn't discourage conversation, unlike here.
That's intended, in all actuality it's a very clever episode in the way it shows the positive influence that Leonard has had with Sheldon and allowed him to become more mellow and more accepting of socialisation, notice in this episode how Sheldon's spot is designed to eliminate social distraction to engross himself within the show whereas now it is designed to incorporate and allow for social interaction, arguably because of Leonard's influence.
Personally, I would prefer if he did wear something different in the past. Dude switched from Polo shirts and bows in Young Sheldon to double shirts, one often with a comic book character logo on the front in this show.
Indeed. Back in the late '70s, friends at university sharing an old house, full of furniture of questionable heritage, place always a mess. When they all graduated and went off to their respective lives and careers, they didn't even bother clearing the house of their stuff. And accepted the forfeture of their bond was worth it...
First time I watched this, I thought Sheldon was just being his weird/normal self. Then, I realized he was pretty validated doing this. He had to be sure that Leonard had the potential to be a good, compatible roommate
I don't really understand why Sheldon even has a roommate. In other episodes he shows that he clearly can afford it on his own, keeping so much cash stashed around the apartment. He would be better off with no roommate.
Which I found completely stupid. The whole point of the series is to have geeky references to classic geeky shows, if the audience don't get what are they talking about, that's the idea, that you either identify with Penny or with Sheldon and Leonard. Way to fuck things up.
To me the empty apartment was a symbol for Sheldon’s character. After he met Leonard and the guys the place started to fill up and actually look like a living space and also brought quality to Sheldon’s character. He started to look less like a robot.

I know why the elevator is never fixed. With e elevator broken, the screenwriters can put some dialog in when one of the characters walks up the stairs. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Would you rather see a character stand in an elevator with no taking?
Not sure if that's the reason. Frasier had a lot of elevator scenes with talking. I think it's meant to be symbolic, but I'm not sure of what. My Literature degree was totally wasted on me :P
I dunno if I could ever accept him as silly Mr. Bean. Especially with how typecast he's getting as far as the whole Sheldon character (have you seen him being "himself" in commercials, for instance the one with that Olympic swimmer where he's trying to talk the guy into a faster computer... It's like Sheldon playing Jim Parsons, not Jim Parsons playing Sheldon). Then again he's a talented guy so I could be pleasantly an happily surprised. It'd be cool to see him take a stab at playing Bean, I will admit.
Ida Dudenmanner yeah probably....i just feel he has the mannerisms and facial expressions required for bean...(although i would love to see him diversify his filmography with challenging roles in the future)
Mr Bean needs to rest with what there is, or if more, only with Rowan Atkinson. He has defined Bean in his terms, and nobody else would be as EXCELSIOR at it. Yeah, I miss Stan Lee !
This episode just proves that Mary's parenting really set Sheldon back. If she were more firm and tough with him then I'd wager he would have became a more well adjusted adult prior to meeting Leonard, his friends and Amy.
Sheldon being Sheldon, I think we all know you would have no reason to worry, although he would probably ask about Leonard's cleanliness, or how much furniture he wants to bring in the room.
