Thanks for this vlog I used to drink on Naklua road and Soi 18 years ago. It’s changed so much. Open air beer bars gone on Naklua road. The seafood restaurant at the bottom of Soi 18 gone. Brings back memories.

I sometimes go to Naklua Soi 18 to devour some german food in Klein Heidelberg !!! Probably the most authentic german food in town (many other "german" places are crap). 😃👍🍗🍖🍗

That IS deep off season. The Wongamat Beach in front of the big hotels almost empty. In March it was crowded mostly with Russians. Turning into an almost empty Naklua rd. What a difference. WIll see on my own next month.

Just returned from Pattaya a month ago.
I think they was really carried away after Covid with prices… 1 bedroom condos are published in 20k-30k and 2 bedrooms 40k and up…. That’s unreasonable… also ladies bar take more that 1000B a night just as base salary…
They are shooting their own foot.. no wonder tourist are not tempted to come back in quantities….
No problems ...they can get lotz of Indians,Chinese,South Koreans,Malaysians, Vietnamese & a smaller selection of misguided Western gentlemen with soi dog intent ...as they use to say ...UP TO YOU !

Best seafood around on that beach about 2km walk - apparently old mate bad mouthed owner - shut the whole restaurant down - couldn't even get seat on weekends- was cheap and unreal

Hey Joe, what's rainy season like? I was looking at 5th Oct to come for a month, but I can't wait so long :-) If I came in Aug/Sept would rain be really bad? Would make a good topic for a video. Your view of how things are different in rainy season.
Still good in rainy season . Not much rain so far in Pattaya this year.
Don't care too much about the weather/rain. Minimize dependency on transport. Live central at a Baht bus route.
I am not a prophet but all indicators say it will be a dry year (hopefully not even a drought).
Sad to say Joe that I can't see it picking up tourists-wise anytime soon. Just looked up flights from LHR to BKK and they are asking stupid prices thats direct with EVA Air. Thai Air is even more pricy. Unless you want to go around the world with several changes, you could save a few bob then.
I don't think it'll pick up even by the high season unless costs come down. Can't see that happening as they normally go up then Christmas and the New Year. With the world economy going down the pan, I think Thailand will be a thing of the past for tourists for several years. Hope I'm wrong but I can't see it.

@@PattayaJoe They (Bars) have been struggling for a long time, Joe. Rents to high, crazy staff wages, & now electricity is up, if you add the lack of tourists to that equation??? Conclusion the DEATH Nell. Some will survive but many will have to close. Not to panic though there will still be mugs waiting to jump in to make their fortunes. Sadly all bar none will hit the cliff. RIP.
@@fredob43 times have moved.....Thailand is changing-especially looking outward for big spending tourists from middle east, india, korea and china.
Having down the Eva roundtrip twice this year, I would say the plane was full each time. No need for them to drop their prices. Strange that BA have not returned to the route. Finnair via Helsinki was cheaper, but adds 2 flying hours to the journey.
6:09 Just doublechecked about TOPS. I have an own video from Nov 9th 2022 and it shows a "Tops daily(!)" sign.
Tops daily is far from a regular full size Tops. Not worth the ride.
