    I have the same set-up and have run over 200 hrs. pushing snow in the mountains of Utah just this year. I had two weld breaks in the last three seasons, including this year on front grill protector that holds Boss plow. I reenforced with extra metal. Outside of occasional low center issues in heavy snow conditions and the weld breaks it's been a fantastic machine...the envy of all the guys pushing big rigs.

      No breaks here. Snow not so deep in SE Michigan. Only issues I have are shifting is clunky and seat is not as comfortable as driving a truck.

      @@CREENBIRDVideos I moved to utah from Michigan 15 years ago....from SE Michigan Clinton Township. There is no comparison to the snow we get here, living off-grid two miles up a mountain road just east of Park City. I have so much snow in my yard right now it is over my fence. My RTV has over 600 hours of very heavy use plowing mountain roads besides my driveway. My shifting is a also a bit clunky. In my situation a little more horsepower would be helpful.

      2 years later and machine is still working as new. Had to replace cutting edges once. Nothing but normal maintenance done to RTV. The industrial tires last longer than the mud/snow setup.

    I have an 1120D that i mounted a 3 spring 7.5' western straight blade on. I am honestly so impressed every time i use it. The machine pushes better than most half ton trucks would with a plow that size.

      @CREENBIRDVideos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      These new Kubota RTV are so impressive compared to the older 1100 and 900 we had. I think they push almost as much as a Jeep or small 4x4 pickup.
      The only 2 issues I have is the shifting from forward to reverse can be a little clunky and you cannot drive this machine on roads to go site to site.

      Works great on pavement. The v plows are way too aggressive for gravel, grass or dirt.
      The older straight blade Curtis Plow worked good on the trails as long as they were frozen.
      The old 1100 Kubota would not push snow like these new ones do!

    If I were you, I'd get some wings for it and cut your time down by 1/3 and in some cases maybe even by half. No more windrows to go back and clean up and you can turn more easily without spillage depending on the depth of course. You can also of course push a lot more snow and pile higher. In my truck with my 8.2 DXT, which is now a 10.2 with the wings, I can pile snow sometimes close to 10' with the right type of snow. Not sure how high you can pile in a Kubota but I'm assuming the Boss has the same ramping ability as the truck plow. They are light and can be taken on and off in seconds with a pull of the spring loaded pin and can be thrown in the back of your ride if you are too wide for the area you are plowing. The mounting brackets are easily installed by yourself or the dealer. The main surface area is made of poly and the blade is made of a very tough 2" rubber. I thought the blade would wear down like an eraser but I'm on my third year and have been real rough with them and they still have years left, plus you can adjust them down as they wear. They run around $1000 and will pay for themselves in the 1st year. My guess is you won't want to take them off. I haven't , except for one time I needed to get through a gate and then I felt naked without them and wondered why I didn't get them sooner. Time is money and I guarantee you will have time to make a lot more.

      We don’t normally use these machines for large lots, only for this video or when one of our trucks break down. We usually use the Kubota on sidewalks, safety paths and narrow areas.
      I’ve used wings on 8 foot blades before with great success. We also use a 10 foot blade on a large dump truck for larger lots. Thanks for commenting and liking the video. Please subscribe!!!

    Would tracks be good to put on RTV 1100 when you are pushing snow

    • @CREENBIRDVideos
      @CREENBIRDVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure. Machine seems to only be limited by curbs and parking lot design. Our biggest obstacle is snow storage. Pushing on pavement so far has been very good.
      I’m sure if you were clearing or grooming trails, tracks would be better.

    I have ordered a 2022 model with the HDW tires. I never see anyone on TH-cam running tire chains when plowing snow. I live in the Colorado foothills and my dealer tells me he doesn't know anyone who runs them with chains, just not a pleasant ride. My driveways are relatively flat, but the roads to/from are fairly steep. We may get a slushy spring snow, but hardly ever ice. I found on my John Deere 2320 (current plow machine) I absolutely have to chain up the rear worksite tires in the winter. Thoughts?

    • @CREENBIRDVideos
      @CREENBIRDVideos  ปีที่แล้ว

      I never plowed with this unit on pure ice, I would only think you would need chains for ice or plowing heavy snow off of hard pack/icy conditions. My opinion only. Everything we use these on is plowed then salted. These V plows dig into gravel or unpaved roads.

    • @john58baich
      @john58baich ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CREENBIRDVideos Thank you so much for your quick reply. Colorado is known for it's champagne powder which neither packs or is heavy. Conversely we do get the heavy wet spring storms but ice is typically not an issue. I think I'll save the $450.00 on two sets of chains and order if I find I need them. On my current set up with a John Deere tractor I weld 1-1/2" pipe on the bottom of the entire cutting edge to get more float on my blade saving my gravel. Again, I am not dealing with hard pack so it moves the snow without pushing my road surface off the ledge of the hill the it is cut into.
