Vladimir Putin is not supposed to be a fast car, just a safe, economical good little runner for your first car to get you and your mates from point A to point B in a cool little hatchback.
Had a 62 plate Fiesta as my first car. Bought it for £4,000 two years ago with 35,000 miles. Really good deal for me at the time and it served me well. Some things needed repairing after annual service but never anything major. Very good option as a first car. I’ve now upgraded to a 1.0L EcoBoost Focus. Wanted to stick with Ford’s. Great cars.
@@matthewsmith2787 With the battery? no! With the Car? Yes, it needed new front springs, a new water pump and at the moment there is a ticking sound coming from the engine, but i am going to Ford tomorrow to find out what it is.
I saw a 2011 one near me for $650 very nice clean but said transmission is slipping not sure if this car would be worth getting price is perfect but i dont know anything about transmission or car parts wonder if it would hold up atleast a year until
What would you recommend Fiesta 2010 with 1.4 petrol engine Titanium or 2008 Toyota Yaris 1.3 Sol. I know a Yaris is more reliable but which is more comfortable and has a quiter cabine on a longer journey.?!
I looked at one for my first car but ended up with a skoda Fabia estate 2008 sometimes I have to remind myself why I went for the skoda because the fiesta is much more of a drivers car but the skoda had the large boot for work and just with the 1.9'tdi which was a lot more in insurance it meant I could tow a fair weight in the trailer but if it wasn't for that I'd have one without a doubt
I'm thinking about buying one, not really sure how good the 1.25 engine is considering my previous car is a 1.4 tfsi. Also driven my mom golf 5 1.4 mpi 80hp and that was sooooo slow, hoping the 3 doors fiesta will be a bit lighter + the 2hp will make a small difference.
@@BarrieCrampton gonna find out in a few days, about to buy one tomorrow, still not sure if I will like the 1.25 but it was the only fiesta avabile in my city...

hi yes its a 2008 on a 58 plate, I cover the road tests separately and do another 2 videos of the outside here is the trailer th-cam.com/video/B3wcm-FjRI0/w-d-xo.html if you click on the i in the top right hand corner of the video you can select the full video or the test drive, thanks for watching
Barrie Crampton very cool thank you 😊 and what time range can we get this one? And can you try fiesta 2010? And do some stress test like in a steep road or something? Thanks again and price is important too... :)
Very informative video, I am looking at a car tomorrow with this exact engine and trim. Not sure if they have priced it too high as they are a large franchised ford dealer.
But how is the stability on EU roads? i looked at sites and compares Ford Fiesta and it's the smallest car that i checked .. could compare to Seat Ibiza..
If you had to choose between an 09 Fiesta 1.6 petrol or an 09 Volvo C30 1.6 Diesel, which would it be!? In the market for my first car and over all they are going to cost within 100 quid of each other and I am really stuck. Love the look of both, and they are very close in terms of economy and road tax. You seem like a man that knows his stuff and any help would be appreciated! All the best cheers
that is difficult, I think that the Volvo is the better-built car and if it was my child's first car I would want them in something that's built like a brick outhouse, however, I would think that the Fiesta would have cheaper running costs, servicing, parts, insurance, fuel economy, I also think that there are a lot of Fiestas about so the Volvo will be different, but I would also check the MOT and Service History of both cars just to be safe in your decision
Thanks very much for your reply. I am really struggling cause my budget is only 3.5/4 k. My heart says the volvo, but I dont want to lose lots pouring money into it. Are there any other motors in that price range that I should be looking at second hand? I wish I lived near you or I would be right down to your garage... Cheers
Thanks Barrie, I guess I still have a lot of thinking to do.. Its just so difficult buying a car just now... More than ever there is so much to think about what with emissions etc coming into play. Wish I had got this done a hell of a lot earlier in life!! All the best and cheers for all your help and advise.
would depend on how old the driver is, how much no claims bonus, distance i had to travel, and mileage of the cars, probably cheaper option for everything is the Fiesta
Niko2012 seems high but for the first year on the road but it’s a normal price these days. I thought adding a dash cam would reduce it by even £50 but nope 😂
This helped me pick out my first car greatly! I picked up a 2010 Fiesta 1.25 with just 50k miles. Excellent car and I love it. Thanks for the help
I'm glad I could Help, you have made a good choice

Vladimir Putin no lambo, not for my first car.
I have one it’s a late 2010 and has 65,000 miles
Apparently the 1.25 is slow as shit and really annoying to drive isn’t 1.0 Ecoboost better
I've got the 2015 Zetec 1.0L 80ps , and it's a cracking little car , i love it.

hard to beat for the money
Fords are very reliable cars, I don’t understand why they don’t have a good reputation
I'm surprised how quiet it is but plasticy though still a great car
Good driving, smooth shifting, merging.....👍
Thanks 👍
I got mine today. I find the gear ratios a bit strange. Like 1st only goes 5 mph , I normally shift before 2.5-3k rpm
I have this car, the first owner (my uncle) bought it in 2009 and the battery in the car and in the key are still the same.
Had any faults in that time ?

cheap isnt it?

53,000 mile for a 7 year old car is really good I think

How long do ford fiestas last on average ?
With a good service history and treated right, should last a long time 150k plus
Our 2011 1.4 tdci has 186k miles and has never given a hint of bother, serviced every 10k miles.
Tom Jardine is that just the 2008 fiesta or the 2002 one as well
What about speed? I do like a bit of speed.... lol
