[zo:diaek] formed in 1992. Originally formed under the simplified alias of Zodiac, the group released a few demos throughout 1993 and 1994, and also appeared on the "Image Sonic" omnibus in 1994 as well. The group had its first lineup change in the summer of 1994 when drummer Aki left. He was soon replaced by Yomi, and a second guitarist, Sine, joined at around the same time. In late 1995, Zodiac changed their name to [zo:diaek], and in the summer of 1996, the group released their first demo as [zo:diaek], "Kagayaite... (耀いて...)", which had strong sales. In February of 1997, the group released its first single "Mirai no Mirai (未来の未来)", which was limited to 1000 copies. The single sold out, and [zo:diaek] also appeared on the "Hyper-Index the Final Evolution 1997" omnibus in October of 1997 as well. By the end of 1997, [zo:diaek] had established one of the largest cult followings in the visual underground, and in March of 1998, the group released its first full length album "Zeus", which was another smash hit for the already-veterans. [zo:diaek] went on to tour throughout the remainder of 1998 heavily, and also appeared on the "Karisu (カリス)" omnibus in the summer of 1998 as well, before suddenly announcing their official disbandment in August of 1998. [zo:diaek] played their final live late that month before officially splitting. Sine went on to join the obscure indies group The Spiral Dogs, which split shortly after its formation. After The Spiral Dogs split, Sine then retired from the visual scene. Yomi, the other guitarist of zo:diaek, Juni, and bassist Go all went on to form the indies group Stan, which they were all active in until its split in 2003. After Stan split, Yomi, Juni and Go then all retired from the visual scene. The frontman of [zo:diaek], Die, went on to join the visual group BP.Moscute under the slightly different alias of Dai, before it split as well in 2001. He then went on to form the indies band The Spirit'z Knot JellyFish under his Die alias, until it also split in 2004. Die formed Samurai.55 under the alias of Taisaku (大作), although he eventually left Samurai.55 and then retired from the visual scene afterwards. In 2012, the members of [zo:diaek] reunited after 14 years split up. [zo:diaek] then went on to have a few more sporadic lives throughout 2013, until disappearing once more in 2014. After its second disintegration, the members of [zo:diaek] then returned to their respective retirements.
