those who have gone through the basic course for troops would wear the red beret... blue beret is for sentries... Transcom is using grey
@nadzthoris times have changed, not only do the regulars wear red beret... NSFs do as well.

I serve my NS in SCDF. The water cannon on scdf fire engine is much more powerful. The water persure is capable of cutting a human head from it's body. The water cannon use by the PTT is use only in crowed control as not that powerful so not to harm the rioters on any innocent bystanders.

The tactical shields are made of very tough polymer materials.

police SOC regulars wear red beret.regulars are called troop. PMRT unit currently SOC but blue beret. they gonna branch out of SOC soon.
its all red now.. MRT Unit and SSO are using blue beret
All are under SOC.

You can serve your NS as a Soldier , Police Officer or SCDF. FYI you can't choose the unit you like.. it decide for you =]

No, They are in Special Commands Operation. Like PTU, They have shields and arms.
But the STAR has weaponary, and not on riot situations.
i used to be involve in rioting like them, but then i took a smokebomb in the knee.

NS is available in the army,navy, air force, police and civil defence. I serve my NS when I was 20 years old and ord when I was 22. Now I 24 years old.

but anyway to make the training more real, the 'rioters' should try pulling the head gears of the police and do whatever the roughest rioters did in the latest riots, this will make them even more prepared.
